I'll keep that in mind when the ACC gets a ton of teams in next time. For years when the ACC did and teams were losing left and right people were crucifying them for it. Now the BE is involved people are trying to downplay it or even just flat out ignore it. Good to know now that the ole adage has been thrown out the window. Btw larry I'm not attacking you at all I'm just saying this because the ACC got beat up on for years when teams underachieved like the BE has in this tournament.

A "ton of teams" in comparison to the ACC?????

Are you serious? You're acting like the ACC was completely under-represented. There were 6 ACC teams in the tournament and 8 Big East teams. Ya - it's a real shame how the ACC was ignored.

And, it's not like the ACC is dominating or anything. You have 3 teams left - Duke, Maryland and Georgia Tech. Duke and Maryland will probably make the Sweet 16, and Georgia Tech will probably get beat. So, 2 of your 6 will make it to the Sweet 16.

All I can say is that if Syracuse, Pitt and WVU come to play today, then the Big East gets 3 of 8 to the Sweet 16. If the Big East gets 3 of 8 to the Sweet 16 and the ACC gets 2 of 6, I'm sorry, but this is pretty strong evidence that both conferences were over-rated.

Now, if you were making the same argument about the Pac-10, since they only got 2 bids - but UW beat Marquette and is playing great and Cal smoked Louisville, I would totally agree. At worst, 1 of their 2 teams will make the Sweet 16.

You flat out just didn't get what I was saying, because you took what I said way out of context. THE YEARS THE ACC WAS PERCEIVED TO BE THE BEST CONFERENCE the ACC was killed on message boards and the media for being underacheivers. Where did I even state the ACC was the best conference? The BE has been all year long. One day the ACC will be considered the best conference again so I want everyone to remember how the media and other people have taken kid gloves to the BE and how they have preformed here, because if they start slamming the ACC for the same thing the BE has done so far I'm going to call them out for being hypocrites. CBS and ESPN has just totally ignored how the BE has played and just brushed it off to matchups. They didn't do that in the years before expansion when the ACC had the best conference they constantly slammed them for it. I'm just calling a spade a spade.

Re: Conference Records in NCAA tournament

Whatever dude - you were in the predictions thread yesterday bragging about the ACC:

"Thanks Siena and Richmond you bunch of jacks! Oh well the ACC hate was proven wrong with 4 teams still left!!! ACC ACC ACC!!!!!"

I will admit that the Big East was over-hyped and only 2 or 3 teams out of 8 making it to the Sweet 16 is a poor performance.

But - after this tournament, no one is going to listen to an ACC fan rail against the Big East.

You'd better hope that your boys can take care of Cal, because it would be pretty embarrassing to have 6 ACC teams in the tournament and not have a single one make the Sweet 16.

So much for the "ACC hate" being proven wrong.....

We took care of em btw. I was glad the ACC went 4-2 in the first rd because really only Duke and MD were the only ones predicted to do anything to begin with. Nobody thought Wake nor Georgia Tech would win. Did you think the ACC would have been 4-2 almost 5-1 after the first two days of the tournament? I know I didn't. When the ACC gets more teams in than anyone else and starts slammed then I'm calling them hypocrites since they didn't when the BE did. They had 8 teams and only 2 are left after 2 rds. I think the ACC and BE underachieved with the exception being the BE had 2 more teams in and only has 1 more left in the Sweet 16 than the ACC does. Thus I think they underachieved more.

Again I never said the ACC was the best conference, and if you can find a quote where I did I'd gladly appreciate it since you act like I'm just out defending the ACC *what from (when we were the 3rd best conference in the country behind the BE and Big 12) I have no idea*.

Bottom line the BE got all the pub for the best conference, got the most teams in, and only 2 of them made the Sweet 16. When the ACC got bashed for underachieving prior to 05 when we had the best conference so should the BE if people want to be consistent. If that argument has now changed to what it should have been in the first place *matchups* well then when the ACC is considered to be the best conference or Big 10...Big 12 who ever I want them to treat those conferences the same as the BE this year. Or they are hypocrites and should be called out for it. You can't hold another conference to different standards than another one esp when it's the same situation.
