Re: Week 14 Discussion (5/12-5/18)

Don't post much in here, but being a IU fan I have been following the IU baseball team pretty closely since their run to the College World Series last year continuing on to this season. This year Indiana is playing even better baseball then they did last year. Barring a complete collapse the last 2 weeks of the season it's looking like Indiana has very good chance of being a national seed for the NCAA tournament.

Then tonight against #10 Louisville, IU catcher Kyle Schwarber hit a blast to straight away center field that went over the 40 foot tall batters eye that is just beyond the 402 foot center field wall. There's a video from the local Louisville TV station that it's hard to see the ball but, you can see the Batters eye beyond the center field wall and the ball supposedly cleared the Batters eye by even 15 feet. http://www.wdrb.com/story/25509250/b...louisville-7-2. From that article IU coach Tracy Smith thinks the ball easily went 475 feet. Who knows the true distance, but not many home runs in college baseball will go farther.

UW beats Seattle finally! 8-0.

Now onto other matters.

Also, Watson, that's just atrocious.

Lost in all of this is the face we had to pull the tarp THREE times tonight and only finished 60% of the game.

I've never seen a no hitter before in person so that was awesome.

That's very impressive! Schwarber is going to make a lot of money real soon, that's for sure. Indiana started a little slow out of the gates, but they've turned it around and will be very tough to beat in the postseason. I think they'll definitely be a national seed, and it won't surprise me to see them in Omaha again. That offense is ridiculous!

Edit: On a side note, I'll be in Oklahoma City tonight for the first game of the Bedlam series! I'm pretty excited even though Oklahoma is a bit down right now. I'm hoping to get at least 2 out of 3 and strengthen our chances on getting a regional. If we run the table and win the conference tournament, we might have an outside chance at being a national seed. But I doubt that happens, so I'm more than happy to settle for a regional in Stillwater.
