Re: Just Win Baby!

Oakland Trades For Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers!

With the trade deadline looming, and no sign of improvement in the QB play for the Raiders, something had to be done.

GM Al Davis looked around and after talking with the Bills about QB Trent Edwards and Green Bay about QB Aaron Rodgers. Bills QB Trent Edwards is the Bills 3rd stringer after losing his job to FA QB Joey Harrington and rookie QB Clarence Bowman. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers played behind QB Brett Favre and then lost the starting job in training camp to QB Brian Brohm. He fell further down the depth chart to be QB4 behind rookie Cashmere Clement and journeyman Gus Frerotte.

Career Stats

QB Trent Edwards 270/500 for 3249yds 19 TDS 25 INTs

QB Aaron Rodgers 36/60 for 334yds TD, INT

GM Al Davis after consulting with HC Joslin decided that Rodgers was the QB most likely to right the floundering ship.

The Raiders send 5th and 6th round picks in 2012 for QB Rodgers.

QB Rodgers has been giving the starting job and will be backed up by QB Ken Dorsey. Rookie Brett Cardinal will move down the QB3, where the Raiders hope with some seasoning he will mature into the QB they thought he could be.

Re: Just Win Baby!

Dorsey's signed long term isn't he? Any chance you can move him in a trade?

Re: Just Win Baby!

Dorsey is signed to a 5year deal, but no one is interested in him...at least not currently.

We might try to move him in the offseason to get out from under his salary.

In the postgame news conference, HC Joslin had this to say about starting QB Ken Dorsey, "We decided to go with the hot hand. Ken finished the game well last week vs. the Cardinals so we decided to give him the start this week and let Aaron settle into our offense. It was probably unrealistic to expect him to be able to start right off t he plane."

Will HC Joslin stick with the hothand? "Ken had a solid game, and for now it is his position to lose. We will always field the player that gives us the best chance to win...so, so long as Ken is winning, it's his job to lose."

Re: Just Win Baby!

I've now lost my write ups the last three times I've tried to put them on...so I'm going to very short recaps. Sorry but I'm too frustrated to retype those.

Week 11: Ravens @ Raiders

BAL Coach Gary Hammermill manages to stop the Raiders run attack, but QB Ken Dorsey has a great day completing 76% of his passes for over 300yds, 2 TDs and no INTs

BAL 20 OAK 33

Week 12: 49ers @ Raiders

The Raiders lose a heartbreaker, when a turnover gives the 49ers the ball back with less than 20 seconds on the clock. They make it into FG range and kick the long FG to win it.

SF 24 OAK 23

Week 13: Raiders @ Broncos

The Raiders control this one from beginning to end. The Broncos come back in the 4th to make it look respectable...it wasn't.

OAK 27 DEN 17

Week 14: Raiders @ Patriots

A game no one thought the Raiders would win, but somehow did. QB Ken Dorsey has two costly INTs, but in the end, he comes out a hero connecting with WR Kevin Robinson for the TD that brings them within 1 pt. HC Joslin decides to go for the win rather than the tie, and HB Jameel Keddington makes him look like a genius.

OAK 28 NE 27

Week 15: Raiders @ Chargers

Always a hard fought contest. This time it goes all the way to the last minute of the 4th quarter, when OAK K Matt Prater nails a last minute FG to win it for the Raiders.

OAK 20 SD 17

Week 16: Broncos @ Raiders

This one went back and forth all game. The Broncos trailed at the half, but came alive in the 3rd quarter and looked to put it away with a pair of FG's in the 4th. QB Ken Dorsey, who had 4 INTs, put together an amazing 2 minute drill dive, getting the Raiders into the Red Zone and hitting WR Brandon Marshall for a 16yd TD. The Raiders rub it in with a 2 pt conversion.

DEN 19 OAK 25
