The Offensive Playbook is around 80 plays the Defensive Playbook is only like 17 plays, but I'm going to bulk it up a little with stolen plays.

Re: Just Win Baby!

NFL Roster Update: New Offensive Starters 2009

QB

Free Agent QB Kyle Boller beats out incumbent Rex Grossman and last year's #1 draft pick Joe Flacco for the starting job.

former KC Chief QB Brodie Croyle beats out Brian Griese and rookie Drew Trumblee for the starting job.

QB Matt Leinart finally gets his shot in Arizona.

After letting Brodie Croyle go, the Chiefs brought in long time Jet QB Chad Pennington as a free agent. Pennington is notoriously fragile though, so the reality is QB Damon Huard is going to see lots of action.

The Matt Ryan era has begun in Atlanta

San Francisco grabbed veteran QB Kerry Collins in free agent to be their starter.

Baltimore HC Gary Hammermill traded up to grab QB Luke Rambis and there was no question that Rambis would be the opening day starter for the Ravens.

HB

Somehow HB Ladell Betts is starting ahead of the more talented rookie HB Maceo Sweetney. Crazy!

The Lions grabbed Raider castoff HB Kevin Faulk to be their starter and 2nd year HB Jonathon Stewart to be their solution at HB down the road.

The Ravens grabbed aging HB Warrick Dunn in free agency to be their starter, he is backed up by Steve Slaton and at HB3 Willis McGahee

Unwilling to turn the running game over to 2nd year pro Jamaal Charles, the Seahawks grabbed free agent HB Fred Taylor to be their starter

HB Rashard Mendenhall beats out incumbent HB Travis Henry for the starting job. Rookie Kendrick House is arguably better than either Mendenhall or Henry, but the Texans are bringing him along slowly, so he will see very limited action at HB3

The Titans say goodbye to HB LenDale White and give last years free agent acquisition HB Kevin Jones (formerly of the Lions) the starting job. The Titans also grabbed HB Darren Sproles in Free Agency to help out in the run and return game.

WR

The Bears grabbed WR Donnie Avery to be their #1 guy after the Bills unceremoniously cut him after 1 season.

Rookie WR Tyrus Duhon starts alongside incumbent WR Lee Evans.

2nd year player WR Limas Sweed takes over the #1 spot

The Chiefs bring in the very slow Ike Hilliard to start opposite Dwayne Bowe, at least it is an improvement over Bam Childress.

The Ravens continue their offensive renovation by bringing in Free Agent WR Isaac Bruce to be their #1 guy.

The Browns drafted LE LaMaar Marbury to start at LE and picked up veteran RE Betrand Berry in free agency to start at RE

The Dolphins have the oldest starting DEs with incumbent Jason Taylor at RE and free agent LE Michael Strahan, both of who are 35 years old.

former Raider Pro Bowl DE Chike Okeafor gets the staring LE job in the Big Apple

The Jaguars have a new DE duo in free agent RE Jarvis Green and rookie LE Jay Sullivan

The Jets drafted their long term starter at RE in Andre Dalembert

The Panthers grabbed RE Buddy Jackson in Free Agency to be their starting RE

Last year the Redskins installed rookie Calais Campbell at RE, this year they hope rookie Clay Gill can do as well at LE

The Seahawks drafted RE Kameron Perryman to be their starter at RE

The Texans bring in Jason Hatcher, who didn't play last year to be their starter at LE

The Vikings hope they've found the solution at LE with Kevin Carter, who they picked up in Free Agency.

DT

The Broncos turn to rookie Travis Coleman at DT1

The Chiefs hope that DT Ted Washington still has some gas in the tank at 41yrs old.

The Cowboys spent a 1st round pick to get DT Thaddeus Cheeks, and they hope he is a long term starter for them.

The 49ers improve their DLine with the free agent acquisition of former Viking DT Pat Williams

The Lions shelled out the big bucks to get DT Tommie Harris from the Bears.

LB

The Bengals add free agent MLB Bart Scott and rookie LOLB Latroy Jackson

The Browns give rookie Jerrell Tryon the start at LOLB

The Chiefs radically improve their LB Corps with the free agent additions of MLB Bradie James and ROLB Vernon Gholston

The Broncos got CB Ty Law to be CB2 in Free Agency

The Dolphins improve at FS with former Bill, George Wilson

The Jets add fromer Chief FS Jarrad Page

When the Steelers cut CB Aqib Talib the Lions wasted no time bringing him in to compete for a startig job opposite Leigh Bodden

The Patriots think they found a star in 1st round draft pick FS Antoine Jefferson

The Rams have new faces at FS and SS with former Bear Mike Brown taking the starting FS spot and rookie Victor Millard starting at SS

The Ravens replace both their corners, Chris Gamble and Carlos Rogers are the new starters. The Ravens also replace departed SS Dawan Landry with SS Jamar Adams

The Redskins add free agent Sean Jones at SS

Rookie CB Renaldo Moon gets the start opposite Marcus Trufant.

The Titans get a major upgrade at CB1 with free agent Chris McAllister

The Vikings have rookie Ryan Spradlin starting at FS

Re: Just Win Baby!

The Offense is built off the Jets Offense, which is the smallest playbook, and then I added some plays -wishbone plays, and took out a few. Did a few more cuts at the beginning of training camp. I will start adding stolen plays this season.

The Defense is built off the 4-2-5, but will almost all the zone plays cut, and a few man blitzes added. I will bulk it up to around 25 plays by adding stolen plays. I've considered modifying the exsisting plays (Change Storm Red to a Man Coverages scheme instead of a Zone scheme, In LOLB Blitz have the FS in Man Coverage and freeing up the MLB to blitz, Moving the FS in the 4-2-5 Free Safety Blitz, etc.) If I do that, it would almost double the playbook size putting it at around 30 plays.

I've always preferred smaller playbooks. It is a lot easier to learn, and a lot easier to grab the play I want during a game.

What size of playbooks do you guys use?
