Boxers are going to be spreaded across boxing titles...

I don't like boxers being spread between games; it will make for smaller rosters or a shorter list of stars. I'm a fan of boxing stars being in all boxing games and let the gameplay and features/modes sell the game.
I'ma boxing fan first. A large list of known boxers and deep modes will attract fans who are hardcore, casual, young or older.

It was always like that though, who remembers those terrible Tyson boxing games that had Tua and Golota?

One thing I don't care about anymore is rosters, gameplay outweighs the roster by a wide margin. I can't play a boxing game like prizefighter regardless what the roster is. That was a terrible effort by 2K.

A smart developer working on a boxing title would focus on gameplay, presentation and the creation suite. With a creation suite on par with the WWE games, we can make our own rosters. Just get a cover athlete for the casuals who care about that.

ESports Boxing club plans to have 150 fighters after all of the DLC is released. If they can pull that off with amazing gameplay and a deep creation system, I'd be more than happy with that.

No matter what, a game will never have all the top current boxers/legends in a game.

I don't care about the roster.
Give me a deep career mode and decent CAF and I'm set.

Exactly. Put out a game featuring Tyson like all those old boxing games with one real fighter and every other relevant fighter will be downloadable withing a few days from the community. If it were for PC you would have a whole database available in a week.

To be fair 2K just stamped their name on it. They didn't have anything to do with development.

Don King Presents: Prizefighter

Developer(s) Venom Games

Publisher(s) 2K Sports

...but I get what you saying; from my recent experience in the last few years companies figure a game will sell with big names. My argument is always the majority of the casual fans only know really maybe 5 boxers and 3 of them may be todays boxers.

I just hope boxers aren't legally tied to one publisher.

That was our issue with Tyson before FNR4. Codemasters held the rights to his likeness and were demanding a kings ransom to sell to EA. They kept putting out those lousy games because they legally had to or else forfeit the rights. Not sure how EA ended up getting Mikes rights but I have a feeling they own it now and we will never see him in a non-EA boxing game.

No, EA doesn't own Tyson's rights. He was in was in a casino boxing game last year. A few of these indie companies have boxers locked in. Round4Round Boxing doesn't believe in that. They rather let the game sell itself with its content and boxers are a plus.
