Stiverne vs. Wilder (SHO)

First heavyweight fight in ages that I'm interested in.

Hope they put on a good show.

The sport is just "different" when the Heavyweight division has some flare to it.

Re: Stiverne vs. Wilder (SHO)

Stiverne had trouble dealing with Steve Austin's jab and was behind on the scorecards before delivering a KO in the 10th. Austin is a good journeyman fighter, but he was 40 when he took that fight. Stiverne had to work hard to get inside and was ultimately successful, but you wonder how much time he has to get to Wilder.

Two key questions I have:

How will Wilder react to a good , strong puncher hitting him with a power shot?
Will it even come to that?

I know this is the DVR era, but don't go to the refrigerator during this fight!!

Re: Stiverne vs. Wilder (SHO)

I think Wilder wins here. Stiverne has a nasty habit of going against the ropes and letting his opponent fire off. Against Wilder that could end very badly. Then again, we have no idea how good of chin he has other than a few rumors of it being weak.
If Wilder gets his jab going (which isn't great, and needs to improve) it will be a short night for Stiverne imo. If he paws it though and allows Bermane inside easy, it might be a short night for Wilder.

I'm pulling for Wilder too but just want to see a good fight.

How about Imam vs. Maldonado!

Imam drops Maldonado in the 1st.
Maldonado drops Imam in the 2nd.
Imam drops Maldonado twice in the 2nd.

Have to favor Wilder, but we'll see.
