The way a jab is suppose to work

It really depend on key factors like the strength in that arm, momentum and other factors. All boxers don't have momentum stopping power in their jabs. Those kinds of jabs are bothersome and cause you to get caught with other shots.

Somebody said, "they never saw a boxer's head snap back or get stopped in his tracks by a jab". I have more if you need more proof.

Excellent!

Just like they have hooks/upper cuts vs haymaker hooks/upper cuts, they need a mechanic for power jabs & crosses.

How 'bout Liston knocking fools out with just a jab?

The power jab would be similar to haymakers or adding power to other punches. It would take longer. A power jab has to be stepped into. The animation would be a little longer giving the opponent that much more time to react. Power jabs would also create more counter opportunities.

Cheesey elements occur when things are not done with respect to real life timing & spacing. There are no indefensible techniques in boxing. Developers need to make sure they balance every element with its real life counter.

These were nice.. Another example of what I haven't felt in the Fight Night series, better head pop and variation. Some guys it could be there eyes were just dazed for a split second, or some they got redirected for a moment, some their head snaps back violently with sweat. It would be nice to have say 1,000 animations for the jab alone.

I'm left handed, but box right. Keeping my strong hand out front has a ton of advantages.

I have seen this becoming more commonplace as well. A stiff jab can own a fight.
