DLC to allow button punching

"In a chat a couple weeks back on IGN, Fight Night Round 4 producer Brian Hayes said that remapping the face buttons to throw punches might be "an option via DLC."

His full reply:

There is no option for face button punching in the final version, but we are investigating providing the option via DLC.

Now, no one said specifically that the face-button option would be paid DLC."

I was going to rent it when the local store got it but since I know there's no option I'll wait and I certianly won't pay for a controller option that should've been there to begin with. Of course it'd probably be free as not to mess up online play along with the negative reaction it would cause.

Ok we've heard enough of the complaining already. Get with the times or stick to FN3.

Re: DLC to allow button punching

it ain't a complaint

EA is stupidly dumb for taking button punches out of the game

INCREDIBLY STUPID for it for the simple fact they didn't need to

the game wouldve sold with it in so why take it out

this is quite possibly the dumbest most idiotic move by EA i have seen in a while and may even top the flop when they made Madden's first jump to next-gen

sales aren't the total measure of success when you're the only game in town

Bottom line: EA is dumb and making the most idiotic moves

Is it already availble for download? I'm not buying it until they add it.

Actually, it's not a dumb move. If you cannot conform to how the game was made, don't play it or talk about it.

You are correct, Voldemort.

I am a converted button user...but it is foolish of EA from a strategic business plan to alienate a large segment of their market. All they had to is have two separate online systems.

I hope the DLC will add more boxers and venues. Could care less about buttons. Loving the stick.

Re: DLC to allow button punching

First let me start off by saying that in FN3 i was a button guy. Most of my friends were button guys. With the release of FN4 we have all adjusted to the stick punching and love this game! It is an issue of how stubborn will a consumer be that they can't simply adjust to an innovation in boxing video games. Was there this much of an uproar when NHL took out the speed burst button? Were people refusing to buy the product unless it was patched? If so, two of EA's top 3 QUALITY sports titles (FN, NHL, FIFA) made genre changing innovations that stubborn people have missed out on.
