The UBL | A Fictional Basketball League | 2K17 (PS4)

Some of you may remember I made a thread about this fictional basketball league late last year... Sadly, I jumped the gun BIG time as I did not initially realize just how much work would have to be done on creating a realistic, fictional roster and creating fictional teams. I also did not like how I released team information, so that's part of the reason for creating the new thread.

But, the roster is 100% complete, the teams are set, and the season has begun! I'm excited to get this league rolling!

About the UBL

The name of the league is the United Basketball League (UBL). It features 30 teams and I specifically chose as many cities that I could that didn't already have an NBA franchise. But, I did put UBL franchises in big cities like New York, LA, Chicago, etc.

For this MyLeague, we're going to say that the 2016-17 season is the first season in UBL history. Because I don't care how long it takes, I REALLY want to go the full 80 years with this MyLeague.

About the Teams

I chose the 30 teams that I thought would best fit in the current divisional structure that the NBA has. For the created teams, I'm using the real life arena names/capacities to make it even more realistic. For example, the Nashville Storm will be a team in the UBL. They're playing at Bridgestone Arena and the capacity is as close to the actual arena capacity that the game would let me get to.

But, some cities that I chose didn't have an arena with the capacity to a Professional Basketball team arena (like some cities' biggest arena held 6,000 people). So, for some teams, I created a fictional arena.

Also, scrolling across the Scorer's Table, you'll notice this advertisement for the fake UBLtickets.com and that's to add a bit of realism.

On the uniforms, I have put the UBL logo and the company who made the uniforms logo (Nike, Under Armour, or Adidas). Now, whatever company I put on the uniform, I put that same companies advertisement on the Scorer's Table. For example, Nashville's uniforms were "made" by Nike/Air Jordan... So there is a Nike advertisement on the scorer's table. And as time goes on, I'm going to get advertisements that correlates locally with each city.

Roster/Team Download Info

If you would like to download any of the rosters and teams to recreate the UBL yourself here is how you do it.

Sadly, downloading the teams might be a bit of a pain as you'll have to search the nickname of each team to download. If anyone would like to do that and can't find the teams, I'll gladly try to re-upload them so they'll appear on the first screen you see as you search for the team nickname.

I'll make the rosters available for download shortly as I put the players through a fantasy draft to try in hopes that it would make the teams as even as possible. So, I'll have to edit the roster file that I have saved so that it has the same updated rosters that the fantasy draft gave me on the MyLeague file.

Create a Prospect

For each draft class I'd love for you guys to send me info of guys that you would like me to create. Just post the name of the player you want me to create along with the height, weight, position, school, and whether you want your player to be offensive minded, defensive minded, or a balanced player type. I'll try to make sure I give many updates on how your created players are doing!
