A Dual Association - Cleveland Cavs and Golden State Warriors

I changed this to just a Cavs, after actually playing a few games, I realized it would take me forever to do the write ups for both teams. I went with the Cavs for the challenge and I actually like playing with some of the people on their roster for the time being. I changed the settings so the computer will handle everything Warriors related. I will really only miss Monta Ellis.

House Rules:
  • I will not trade between these two teams
  • Development Points can only be used on rookies and they will never be maxed out in anything
  • Free Agent Signings Are Limited To 1 Player Per Team With an 80 Ovr or Better
  • If I Previously Sign A Free Agent With An 80 Ovr or Better, I can not the next off-season or Acquire one within the same season
  • I Can Not Have More Than 2 Lottery Picks in Any Given year
  • I Will Try To Play As Many Games As I Can But Will Also Sim Games

The Cleveland Cavaliers just coming off the best record in the NBA(61-21) and the franchise's hopes of regaining that status have never looked to glim. Their star, their best player, the league MVP, the King, the face of the franchise, left them in a cloud of dust after well, he took his talents to South Beach, Miami to join D-Wade and Chris Bosh. Cleveland fans would love to forget what LeBron did to them, but what was more meaningful what LeBron James did for the organization or how he left them in a pile of rubble. James took his 2 reigning MVP titles and 28 PPG with him when he packed his bags. Whether you love or hate James and as most Cleveland fans now hate the man, the organization most move on. It will be tough after the way James disrespected and insulted every member of this organization in what may be the most devastating thing that has happened to an NBA team in recent memory. What are the chances Cleveland can revive themselves and find another star to be able to plaster his face all over the city.

When you take away LeBron James and actually dissect the roster, it isn't that good at all. In fact it is probably the worst in the NBA, and we all remember what the Nets did last season. It is pretty much comparable to taking out what's under the hood of a car, you're just left with a pile of scrap metal with wheels, unfortunately it looks like the wheels were also taken from this team.

In the back court, returning is Mo Williams is coming off a season in which he only played 68 games while averaging close to 16 points. Williams has 2 years left on his contract and is probably not in the future plays of Cleveland but moving him will be tough. It is more than likely Williams may attempt more shots that James is gone and he will be bringing up the ball more something he hasn't done in 3 years. Ramon Sessions is a serviceable backup coming over from Minnesota.

At the 2-guard small but lethal Daniel Gibson will be starting, although if the team likes what it sees out of rookie Manny Harris, he could very well be stealing some minutes if he performs. Some think Harris could be better suited as a point guard than a scoring 2-guard, but he may have to make an adjustment here or there. Christian Eyenga another rookie, will be given a chance to show what he can do, he can play either the 2 or the 3 and could very well take over the 3 as it is the teams weakest position

Speaking of the 3, Lebron's position, even though you can say LeBron played all 5 positions for this team, this is the team's glaring weakness with really no options. Jamario Moon is a career back up and Anthony Parker probably won't last past Christmas on the team. Alonzo Gee will be given some minutes and Joey Graham is there too.

At the power forward position may be the only thing fans of Cleveland can hope improves. J.J. Hickson is a lot of scouts and experts pick to carry the team, Hickson has showed flashes of what he can do but should get way more opportunities this season than any. If he succeeds the Cavs may have their first building block. Antawn Jamison isn't getting any younger, he is a shell of what he used to be for Washington and Golden State. Jamison can no longer carry a team, but will see ample time. His stay may be limited.

The center spot is weak enough but we have to talk about Anderson Varejao, a fan favorite, but how good really is he? Pretty much a back up his entire career, shows a lot of heart and energy defensively but I doubt he's sticking around to see the rebuilding process. Ryan Hollins is the man's back up.

Quite frankly the team didn't play terrible. It was their best game of the year offensively. The home opener didn't really go as planned, tt seemed Sacrament was too powerful on the inside for any Cleveland player to stop. The Kings were getting inside the paint at will. While the only thing Cleveland can honestly say they did well was start the game off well, as it was the first team all season they outscored their opponents in a quarter, the 1st quarter.

Just a tip, make the sim length the same as the play length so that you arent last in the league in scoring.

Re: A Dual Association - Cleveland Cavs and Golden State Warriors

Hawks Explode In 2nd Half To Steal A Win

When LeBron James left the Cavs, they also lost their finisher. The guy who could take over the 4th quarter and either extend the Cavs lead or give them a chance to win. Tonight that was greatly missed, and it was not found in veteran Antawn Jamison. Jamison in the 4th quarter after having a solid game, went 1-5 and was unable to find the rhythm he had all game.

Jamison had a chance with 5 seconds left to tie the game and send it into overtime after a bad inbounds pass was deflected off the hands of Varejao and received at half court by Gibson. Gibson was was pressured passed it to Jamison who had a good look but was unable to hit the jumper.

"You know as a player, you live for those moments to be able to hit the buzzer beater, I've done it before, just tonight it didn't go my way," said Jamison after the game.

"There was no play drawn up" said coach Byron Scott. "We had no time outs and the plan was to foul, we were down by 2. If given the opportunity again, I wouldn't mind if Jamison took the shot. He's a good player."

Jamison and Scott have been bickering over the past few days as Jamison who is coming off the bench wants to see more minutes. As of right now Jamison is averaging 27 MPG compared to the starter J.J. Hickson's 30.2 MPG.

The reason the Cavs took a huge early lead was they were able to get the Hawks key players in foul trouble. Joe Johnson and Josh Smith had 3 early fouls in the 1st half which kept them out majority of the 2nd quarter.

Something to take away from this heart breaking loss was the Cavs shot 50% from the field, although at halftime they were shooting 62%. The Cavs head to Philadelphia on Friday night to take on the 3-2 76ers.

Thanks for the advice, as of right now I am 22nd in the league in scoring at 92.2 PPG, last is the Bobcats with 82.3. The Bulls lead the league in scoring at 113.3 only because Derrick Rose is averaging over 33 points per game. There are only 5 teams that average over 100 ppg.

ESPN Breaking News..

Sources close to Stephen A. Smith have reported that the Phoenix Suns will be sending their 7x all-star and 2x league MVP PG Steve Nash to the Orlando Magic for PG Jameer Nelson and PF Brandon Bass. This comes as a shock as the Magic have already traded for G Gilbert Arenas and thought were to be content with what they had, and surprisingly they already acquired Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Richardson from the Suns earlier, it amazes some that it didn't happen earlier if anything. Nelson was putting up pretty good numbers early on with 17 points a game and 7.5 apg. Nash is averaging 22.7 ppg to go along with 5.5 APG on 58% from the field.

Steve Nash said on the Phoenix 95.5 FM Radio, "You know sometimes a change of scenery is good, I appreciate everything the Suns organization has done for me but we are both going in a different direction. I wish those guys the best of luck. I get to play with Jason and Turkoglu again, and I can't wait to get on the court with Howard."

Jameer Nelson has not yet made a comment on the situation.

The idea was though that Phoenix was really lacking at the PF position and Brandon Bass was able to acquire a younger PG in Jameer Nelson to start the rebuilding process. This move shouldn't be the last for Phoenix.

But does this now make Orlando the favorite to win the East? They certainly just have upped their chances.

Dwight Howard just tweeted
Quote:
Wow. Get a chance to play with a future HOFer! Welcome Steve!
