A lot of new faces for the Rays, as players like Matt Duffy, Alexei Ramirez, and Corey Dickerson will join Rays veterans Evan Longoria and Logan Forsythe. A pretty well-rounded team, the Rays will look to add bullpen arms and a catcher throughout the season, and into next season. More depth could also be looked at. For the time being, Alexei Ramirez is taking some time to work in the outfielder to get more playing time. The last thing about this Rays team is the surprises that made it out of camp still with the big league club - Eury Perez, Eddie Gamboa, and Adam Wilk. Gamboa and Perez pitched well enough in the spring to keep his spot, but Wilk was a last minute addition, and might not last long with the club.
The Rays have aquired 3 players in a 3 for 3 swap with the Rangers, reports say. The Rays will be sending catchers Bobby Wilson and Curt Casali, alond with infielder Nick Franklin to Texas for outfielder Ryan Rua, outfield prospect Eric Jenkins, and infield prospect Josh Morgan. Jenkins, 19, will start with the Biscuits, and was rated the #7 Overall prospect in the Rangers organaation, and Morgan, 21, will start with the Bulls. He was the #12 Overall prospect with Texas. This was strictly a move that took away from the overhaul of catching depth, along with the infield depth that is on its way.
