Chicago Cubs: New Age

The Chicago Cubs have made their transition to their new management. The year 2013 is looking promising for the young Cubs mainly because of the amount of talent we have started to gather. The Cubs will be looking to compete this year and grow experience for their young club. This will be my attempt to try and break the curse. Other members, feel free to post your results of your personal attempts/games. I will post box scores of every game.

Go Cubs!

Re: Chicago Cubs: New Age

You should ask a mod to move this to the dynasty thread

It's not my personal Franchise. As I stated, it's for Chicago Cubs fans. It's not mandatory that people view it and post. It's mainly for us Cubs fans.

About to start my cubs franchise again tomorrow. Who is everyone bringing up the first year?

Re: Chicago Cubs: New Age

I will definitely be following along with you. With the OSFM rosters I've found that it wants to put Jorge Soler in the Majors right away and he definitely can compete. I wasn't a "show" veteran so I started on Beginner and then bumped it up to the next setting. Still doing pretty good. I am limiting myself to play just 1 game per series with some exceptions (I will play all at least 2 of the Sox games, etc.) It's been interesting thus far and I find myself really wanting to trade both Garza and Marmol for replacements. Shark is my go to Ace.

Moved to Dynasty forum. As of right now, we are not allowing individual team franchise threads in the Show forum. If you wish, you can update in the following thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ss-thread.html

With that said, I will be starting my Cubs franchise this weekend. Will be keeping up with what everyone else is doing with the team this year.

For me it pretty much defaulted to Soler being the starting CF. I let it slide to see what the results were and he's been promising. Obviously would never happen IRL this season or next...

Re: Chicago Cubs: New Age

Opening Day:

The Cubs could not stop the Pirates at the plate. Samardzija was hit hard in the 2nd inning which doomed the Cubs chances at a hot start. The Cubs did strike first but were unable to come back from the 6 run 2nd inning. The Cubs drop to 0-1 on the young season and get a day off before game 2.
