Thought maybe there were different stadiums in this, but from the Kotaku overview:

You will play in one of the stadiums from Backbreaker, not a real NFL arena, but they still feature NFL branding and billboards. It won't necessarily be a generic arena, either. I played Chargers at Patriots in the Backbreaker Philadelphia stadium.

Definitely not new stadiums. With all of the screens I've seen, they've just been the same ol', same ol'.

If true, then it sounds like there's nothing stopping another publisher from making an iPad or Android game. We can already enable Bluetooth game controllers on both of those devices.

I'd venture a guess that the graphics, processing power, and memory requirements for mobile devices will exceed the current generation of consoles before we see the NFL license on consoles expire.

Seems we may have the first sign of how the EA monopoly will cease to exist.

Man, if Sony could release an NFL Gameday for its Xperia Play...using the gameplay/controls from Gameday 98....that'd be soooooooo coooool.

but I don't think they want to mess with their relationship with EA.

I'd think would be more of a ROI problem, might only be thousands of football fans with that specific phone.

I don't think they would have to invest too much into it.

as far as capability...well all touch devices would be able to play it (control wise)...but some might have to use the on-screen controls.

there is also this for those who have a keypad....

or they can get this little add on for touch only devices...

The titles Sony is making/porting to the Xperia Play are exclusive to the device I believe. ROI becomes a bigger issue when you involve licenses like the NFL and NFLPA. The other titles that have taken that shot are available on everything, which is why I made that comment.
