Football Mechanics In Backbreaker

Let me start this off by stating that I have already pre-ordered Backbreaker. As a diehard football fan and gamer. I am looking forward to a fresh new alternative to what has really become a tired genre. The best thing that Natural Motion has done is attempt to develop a football video game from a whole new prospective. Thus far, Overall I have been impressed with everything I have seen in the latest videos. The depth of modes and the user friendly customization tools are big sellers for me. The fact that physics are the lifeblood of the game is Backbreaker's shining light.

The one area that has me concerned is the football mechanics of this game. From what I have seen so far, The physics in this game look amazing and the procedural awareness really stands out. Players play the ball and the situation. The awareness of the players in the video look awesome. The area that appears to be flawed is the football mechanics.

The juke, spins, acceleration and overall running moves look natural but the upright running style does not. The throwing motion for the QB's look very amateur. The throws themself look great but the technique doesn't. I don't know who NM used to capture football mechanics for the game but so far, It's the one area that looks flawed.

Yea they do run kind of up right and the spin move to me looks sort of glitchy. But hopefully they can add some leaning in backbreaker 2.

I believe they already have leaning.

Don't quote me on it though.

No it doesn't. Both are bad to me, these animations look stiff.

Funny how every thread i read in here someone has to mention Madden--like BB is the new beginning of football and Madden is the evil end. Is it possible to keep them somewhat separate? It's in every thread...
It's like a woman you used to date (heard this one before?) and can't stand, if you have a chance to move on, are you even going to think about the first? Let it go folks..both Video Games have their better parts and neither does everything right...exhale

Anyway the i think i've seen one/two catch animation(s), the movement (with the ball) looks rigid, and the running looks too upright---also the throwing looks like my sister (if i had one) throwing. But this is a great foundation to build on, that is if they used these 3 years to get the groundwork somewhat solid. Here's to hoping it is...
