Thoughts on Manual Blitzes?

To me the pass russh from LB's and DB's is broken...what are your feelings on manually blitzing a player?

Re: Thoughts on Manual Blitzes?

Fine by me. The blitz angles are way off, and if you want to get there on time, you often times have to do it yourself.

Some will object, but I think for the most part those are people who played 2k5 and may not get that this game works a bit differently. They're also usually people who don't want to invest in legend OL and think it's cheap that their OL will get fooled on twists and stunts, or make a mistake about which rusher to pick up. Imo, there are good ways to get pressure, but none that are glitchy and none that can't be handled with placalling, personnel, and formations.

Nothing is wrong with it. The only thing I hate seeing is where guys will manually move a lineman from his starting position and blitz from a spot he's not assigned.

Re: Thoughts on Manual Blitzes?

Manually blitzing is just fine. If I send 6 and you have 5 OL... I want to get there as fast as possible. Also, manually using DL and using a move is completely fine too. There's no consistent way to get in every time. Yes, using a DL can get better performance out of him than the CPU control, but it's the same at every position.

Pandemic21 was arguing with me that manual blitzing was garbage because I sent 6 against his 5 WR set. This is the stupidest argument I've ever seen. Manual blitzing has it's downsides too, you know. The middle of the field isn't manually covered so passes can oftentimes get completed that would get taken away by my human control.

People that complain about manual blitzes are a)stuck in 2k5 b) whiners who have no substance to their argument or c) both

In 2K5 manual blitzing was just ridiculous a lot of the time. They handled it a lot better in APF.

Re: Thoughts on Manual Blitzes?

its cheese & has been cheese ala the manley manual rushers who just charge up and bull rush your lineman for instant pressure as they get pushed out of the way.
IF i could control an olineman and charge up myself to counter your charge then it would be sim.
being that youll ALWAYS go against the ai = its cheese

Let me guess you run spread and don't like the quicker pressure, vs the loop d loop the a.i. pulls on an assigned blitz yeah man thats real sim...
