Official SSX Impressions

Surprised no one created a thread yet.

I've been playing for a little over an hour or so, and am really enjoying the basic race and trick events. Not really a fan of the survive/Deadly Descent type stuff so far.

The wingsuit controls feel a bit weird and it seems like opening it up is unresponsive at sometimes causing me to miss jumps and using rewind multiple times before it deploys.

To those complaining about the autocorrect making the game too easy, I find it useful given how fast everything comes at you and how much stuff you have to avoid dodge. I'm busy wingsuiting across gaps or dodging trees while going at pretty much mach 2 so beng able to land most tricks keeps the game moving at a quick pace. There's still going to be a huge talent gap anyway on who records the best times or high scores, autocorrect or not.

Same here, having fun with the game on basic runs. Just got into the global events now and really enjoying this mode.

Only played for about a hour, finished the rockies section, playin with the wingsuit area. I used to be really good at this game (Maybe not really good, but easily pass level good) and I'm not advancing nearly as fast as I thought I would. However, the desire to keep trying hasn't gone away. I still go back to the old controls from muscle memory but am trying to get the new controls down because everything I read says they are fantastic. Just kills a big run when you hit rewind.

Enjoying the game and setting a couple of good scores which surprised me.
For some reason I'm not grabbing onto grinds well. I press the LT and I'll miss quite a few of them maybe I'm going to fast?

The music is awesome and I'm not a fan of electronic music but the mixes are wonderful and when you get your trick meter near the top it's just fantastic.

Yeah... this game is pretty awesome.

I'm so out of practice and terrible right now though because I didn't even play the demo. Hitting a lot of trees and falling a bit.

I'm doing decent in the trick mode but racing is kind of hard because you are just flying down the hill and it is super easy to run into stuff.

Re: Official SSX Impressions

This game is really awful. It's not an SSX game, it's a deadly descents game. Even if you're willing to accept that fact, it's still a poorly designed game.

The majority of levels consist of avoiding hazards, which is fine, except that most of those hazards are thrown in your face at top speeds without much warning if any at all. It's a system that just doesn't mesh well. Each level usually consists of trial and error, to the point where most of the fun has been sapped out of the experience by the time you finish. The developers even added an option to skip a level if you die too many times in a row, as if conceding that yeah, this game isn't even really worth experiencing... Just move on to the next part.

Good advice really. Save yer money kids, move on to the next game.

Sorry you feel that way but this game is the most fun I had playing a game since...It's been along time, lol. I never really played the SSX series or I just don't remember them but I think this game is well put together. The SPEED is what makes this game so fun. If it didn't have the speed factor, half of the tricks wouldn't even be possible.

Re: Official SSX Impressions

The online capabilities for this game are unreal! You can play online whenever you want, don't need your friends to on the same time you are but can still race against them and their are over 100 drops to choose from, like I said earlier this game is going to bring me out of online hibernation! The best way to describe this game is don't think to much, just do what you want, when you want. The more I try to focus on tricks and time the more stuff I hit. If I just let it all hang out, lol, on the track I have the most fun!
