Kelly and Collett were selected as Starters on the English Conference Select Team. Surey was named as a reserve.

I won the English Conference National Manager of the Year award! Tommy Coyne of Scarborough came in 2nd, and Martin Murray of Kettering came in 3rd.

Greg Kelly won the English Conference National Award for top goal scorer (no surprise.)

Today was the final of the European Champions Cup. Arsenal and Liverpool played in a match watched by most of the country. The first 30 minutes were a tense defensive battle by both clubs as they felt each other out. Finally, at the 36 minute mark, Lauren played a long counter attack through pass which Henry caught up to and then buried in the upper right corner of the net.

At the end of the 1st half, Liverpool countered with a brilliant pass from Luis Garcia to his fellow striker Djibril Cisse who slammed home the shot into the upper left corner.

In the 55th minute, Henry was tackled in the box, and Arsenal chose Lauren to take the penalty shot. Lauren shot it over the bar. Would that miss cost Arsenal the game?

The next 30 minutes featured some acrobatic saves by both keepers, until Henry broke through the defense with an impressive dribble and shot the ball over Chris Kirkland's left shoulder for his second goal.

Liverpool would not go quietly however, as just one minute later in the 87th minute of the match, Harry Kewell made a great pass to get Cisse the ball again. Cisse made a good move on Manuel Almunia and tapped it into the goal to tie the game 2-2.

Extra time was uneventful and the match resorted to penalty shots.

Henry was up first and he watched in amazement as Chris Kirkland stopped his shot.

Jamie Carragher stepped up for Liverpool and shot it over the bar to keep the score 0-0.

Lauren stepped up for Arsenal next and blasted the ball into the lower left corner. 1-0 tally for Arsenal.

Anthony Le Tallac had his shot blocked by Manuel Almunia to keep it 1-0 in Arsenal's favor.

Pascal Cygan stepped up next and hit a decisive shot the left of the keeper to give Arsenal a 2-0 advantage.

Andres D'Allesandro stepped up next to take a critical shot, and he kicked it sharply into the left lower corner to make it 2-1.

Fredrik Ljungberg stepped up with the opportunity to give Arsenal the 3-1 lead, but he missed it high and wide.

Dietmar Hamann had a chance to tie it up for Liverpool. This would be a critical shot. He shot it to the left of the keeper, but Manuel Almunia dove and tipped it wide.

Patrick Vieira stepped up with the chance to give Arsenal the win if he converted the shot. He aimed.. he shot.. into the lower right corner.

Arsenal won on a 3-1 penalty shot victory. Arsenal won the European Champions Cup.

The board announced today that I will have a generous transfer budget of 36,000 plus I can keep most of any money that I bring in through transfers.

How generous of them.

Woohoo! Congratulations on the win and promotion!

For some reason, Henry is a really mediocre penalty taker in FM'05 when he's quite decent in real life.

Newcastle have fired Graeme Souness. Kevin Keegan is the leading candidate to take over the club.

It's officially the end of the year.

Greg Kelly has won player of the year as voted by the club's supporters.

We've received a hefty 420,000 dollars for League 2 TV rights for the upcoming season.

The Board is very pleased with my performance. I'm expected to fight bravely against relegation this upcoming year, and I will have a transfer budget of 36,000 dollars to do so.

Colin Hunter has announced he will retire after this year is over.

(OOC: I will now start a new thread and link this thread as well as some of the pertinents from this last post.)
