Todd, I'd really like to see the 2d representation happen, but don't think it will. However, I do think we will see FOF 2k5, or whatever Jim decides to call it.

If there's going to be back-to-back FOF releases, the new one has to be a giant step up, doesn't it? Maybe adding 2D, maybe customizable (somewhat) league structures, adding back in expansion, etc., or some new wrinkles to the game itself. It can't be too much of an "under the hood" release, or a segment of the potential buyers will just stick with FOF2K4.

I am going to have to disagree with you here. My favorite FOF is the 2001/2002 version. I prefer the game plan and training camp feature in 2002 to the fof2004 version.

Everyone has their favorite features and no matter how good fof2005 is, you will have some people, if not entire MP leagues, that will decide to stick with the 2K4 version.

That being said, I wonder who is going to start the first FOF2005 league?

Technically, it would be back-to-back-to-back FOF (pro) releases, which is why I'm leaning towards TCY or a new sport. I somehow think it will be TCY2 and then a new sport next time.

But then again, Jim hasn't given us much info, so I will go back to not caring until he finally speaks up.

This is exactly why I don't think it will be FOF. Just my opinion, but I agree with sab that this makes either TCY2 or another genre more likely.

With the announcement still not coming out, I'm starting to lean towards the next release being baseball. It's half way through the football season and no announcement of even what the product will be just makes me feel a football (college or pro) release is becoming less and less likely.

Wasn't FOF2k4 announcement around this time, though? And if I'm not mistaken, TCY was even quite a way into the college season before it came out.

FOF 2004 was handled in much the same way last year, if you recall. He did announce it a week or two earlier but by no means by a large margin.

I don' think this is a sign its a new pro version. I think that was Jim's way of anwering you without giving away what his next game is. If he tells you to go ahead and buy, then that completely rules out FOF2k5. But if he tells you to wait, then that keeps us guessing.

With that said, I'll be shocked if it's a new pro football game. I'm leaning heavily towards a new version of TCY, with Front Office Baseball a very distant second.

I figure that if the announcement is for FOF 2005, the FCFL will start rolling with that.

I thought it was released about this time and was announced about 3-4 weeks ahead of the release.

I don't think football is definitely out of the question, but every week that passes by without an announcement from Jim makes it less likely IMO.

Usually not long - week, maybe two.

Permision to blow a big hole in this theory.

The game was released Nov 13, 2003, but was announced in the middle of October. There was about 3-4 weeks between the announcement and the release (I just went back and checked).

Since Jim hasn't even announced the game yet, I wouldn't expect a release for at least another month.

IwasHere...it's not a theory, but feel free to blow away.
