Email From Theo Parada:
Coach Cravens, The following players have improved since beginning practice. Bruce Rawson is playing better defense in the post and is scoring better in the post. Andrew Crawford is is playing better defense in the post and has improved his strength. William Campbell is rebounding a lot better and has blocked a few shots during practice. Ken Blank is now probably one of the best post defenders in the league, he has improved tremendously. Lope Santos has been blocking shots non-stop in practice. Donatien Dupire has improved his rebounding and shot blocking skills. Thomas Husted has improved his ballhandling and rebounding. Quintin Marr has improved his scoring ability and handling but is still a horrible defender. Eddie Barnes has improved his shooting. Darius Trust has improved in almost every category, especially his defense. Harold Delvecchio has improved his defense, he is probably our best perimeter defender. Bruce Lynn has become great at stealing the ball from his man. David Jones has improved his passing ability. Walker Sproul has improved his shot and handling skills. |

Game 1
November 14, 2004 San Diego (0-0) at UC-Riverside (0-0) Scouting Report San Diego has a decent backcourt, they have all three starters returning - all of whom averaged double figures last year. Riverside wins a thriller! Both teams had leads of 10 at one point in the game but neither team gave up, we rallied late and won on a Trost three-pointer with 11 seconds to play. Trost and Santos both have good games in the 77-76 win. Code:

November 18, 2004 UC-Riverside (1-0) at Pepperdine (0-0) Scouting Report Pepperdine returns four starters from last year, only one averaged in double figures. Their center seems to be their best player, this plays into our strength. Riverside has 2nd half disaster. Pepperdine outscores us 47-20 in the second half. Our perimeter defense is horrible we let up 15 points to their backup point guard. Code:

November 23, 2004 UC-Riverside (1-1) at Denver (1-0) Scouting Report Denver has a very good front court, we have a very good front court defense. The key maybe their center Fernandez who has started every game while at Denver. Their back court is bad though. Riverside wins another thriller! Tied at 71 with 2 minutes to play both teams picked up their defense but a three from Trost with 42 seconds left gave Riverside the win 74-73. Trost had 29 points and 7 rebounds. Code:

December 8, 2004 UC-Riverside (2-2) at Air Force (1-3) Scouting Report Air Force has no inside game on offense at all. For the most part they will play tough defense though. Last serge sparks Falcons! This is a bad loss, all losses are bad but this is really bad. We had the lead most of the game but got beat in the second half again. They put a guard in a power forward and we couldn't stop him. We lose 69-62. Code:

Dominguez had 22. We win 78-68. We played great defense tonight forcing turnovers and bad shots. Code:

December 27, 2004 UC-Riverside (5-5) at Idaho State (3-6) Scouting Report We can't afford a let down game here, the Bengals are lead by PF Art Leonard. He was the Big Sky Player of the Year last year and was also 2nd team All-American. This season he is averaging 13.0 PPG and 6.2 RPG. Bengals are no one man team! January 20, 2005 UC-Riverside (6-8) at Idaho (6-8) Scouting Report Four of Idaho's starters are averaging double figures, this may be another tough one. Thier PF Albert Crawford is probably their best player, he's a 6'7" natural SG averaging 14.6 PPG. His quickness is tough to defend. Riverside continues road dominance! Can we move all our games to the road? Our defense was lethal holding the Vandals to just 31% shooting. We win 64-52. Trost scores 17. Code:

January 29, 2005 UC-Riverside (7-10) at Long Beach State (10-8) Scouting Report Lets hope our road magic continues. LBSU plays good defense, we need to go at their PF and SF to score. Could be a long night, on offense they have a lot of balance. LBSU Rolls! The bottom line is you can't turn the ball over 27 times and expect to win. Trost and Blank both fouled out, both struggled. It was just an ugly loss 87-72. Jones almost had a quadruple double with 15 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds, and 10 turnovers. Code:
