Attributes
It is time.
Cost: $1,000 As mentioned previously, we do not want to 'power' through the levels, but it is obviously no competition at this level, so it is time to move on. We will play one more event, because I like shootouts, then move on to the Q-School event.

Q-School
The qualification tournament to leave Pro level is the same as the one to leave amateur level except that it is TWO rounds instead of one. We are now practicing in preparation for the tourney, which will be played at Sahalee C.C..
As before, I must finish in the top 35 players to qualify for the next level. This should, of course, not be a problem. The purse for the Q-school tourney is a nice, round $1,000,000.

Don't you think that there would be some semblance of competition in these matches/tournaments at the first two levels?
I will be qualifying for the Pro level tonight and I'm really looking forward to Shootouts. |

One would think so, especially at the Pro level. I expected much better scores than there are.
Also, the Pro level STILL has the players driving 30 yards behind me, sometimes more. You would think pro players could drive farther than 235 yards.

It's probably a design decision to keep you playing and moving to the higher levels where the real competition begins, I guess. No sense getting gamers frustrated early on.

I just got done with Q-school before the Pro level where it was 18-holes at Colonial. I ended up at -2, winning by 11 strokes. I had one bad hole, the 9th, where I hit into the lake twice. I went back and checked your score and we did about the same (which I was glad to see). I finished being an Amateur with $48k in cash. I'm now at the Pro level, bought a new ball and then spent $25k on attributes. I don't think I'll have any problems making money at Pro. Still need the lessons, so I'm anxious to see new shots that I finally can try. Fun stuff.

Tour Level
I got to see the exciting cutscene telling me "Congratulations Winner" again. I am given the differences and upgrades available at Tour level. These include:
Fees for matches and competitions will now cost $200-$500 The calendar starts over at January 1st, so I must have had a long vacation to rest and practice for the challenges that lie ahead. See you on the tour. I took a quick peek and saw the antes for competitions from the practice range can go up to $50,000 and the player that offered it to me was a real Pro golfer. We have hit the real thing now, I assume, and should start losing some, which will make it EXCITING when I do win. At least I hope so.

Congrats, Bucc. I doubt it will take more than a couple of events to have the money to advance, if you choose to get it over with.
The level of competition is not conducive to wanting to stay at Pro level, as you could see. Good luck.

I had no idea the PGA Tour games had gotten this in-depth. I may have to pick it up again. The last one I played was on Sega, but the career mode sounds like a lot of fun.

I'm getting too obsessed with this game. So far this weekend, I've spent nearly all of my spare time playing this. The Pro level is a lot of fun with the intense Shootouts and exciting Scrambles. The level of competition is noticably better, still beatable but having to work at it.
