NBA2K16: MyCAREER, MyCOURT Details

If you haven't watched the NBA 2K16 MyCAREER Trailer: The Whole Story, please do so now. OK, you good? Now let’s start this post with what you all want to know:

Thanks to Spike Lee’s influence in #BeTheStory, MyCAREER high school and collegiate games are playable. I’m led to believe that only a select few games at each level will be playable, though. Don’t expect full seasons until you’ve made it to the NBA.

Colleges confirmed so far are the University of Texas and Kansas University. Visual Concepts secured the rights to 10 total schools, so there are still eight more to be revealed, some of which have potentially been uncovered.

MyCOURT, your new central hub for MyCAREER, is a fully customizable gym that you decide how to design. This hub also doubles up as a court you can play on with your friends. You can play your friends in a private scrimmage, shootaround, or treat the court as a lobby before you hop in 2K Pro-Am. Here are a few items you can customize in MyCOURT:

Trophy/achievement case
Shoe display
Floors
Walls
Rims
Backboards
Nets
Signed NBA jerseys

Off-Day Simulator is a new feature to help showcase the complete life of an NBA player. Here you will manages your time to between endorsements, connections and Live Practice.

Endorsement deals will require your time to ensure you meet contractual obligations.
Connections are relationships with players, legends and others that you build up; there are a variety of rewards from pre-game animations to getting the option to pick alternate jerseys.
Live Practice allows you to interact with coaches and teammates by participating in drills to improve attributes. These drills range from 5-on-5 to solo. The solo drills come straight from the mind of gameplay developer Scott O’Gallagher, who played professionally for a number of years.

Oh man, if Michigan were legitimately an option, that would really make my day. Though, I imagine Michigan State fans may not be fond of the choice.

It's really surreal to think about how far we've come. Especially for someone who was alive when most of those older games first came out.

Man only if this is something that you're just allowed to create from the beginning just like they do your myplayer

I don't even know what kinds of courts ill come up with but somethings gotta happen...

2K allowing as much customization as possible is what the fans want. I read that customization doesn't matter as much. I beg to differ

This is a great feature for squads looking to recruit new players to the team. kinda like try-outs and also a great way for us OS guys to actually run some fun games together

Reading about mycourt made me think about The Crib which was of my favourite features from the old 2K's. The fact that it serves as a hub that you can just chill in is awesome.

I'm hoping the "Michigan" is Michigan State so that my PG can follow the footsteps of my favorite PG of all time.

I don't see any of the Catholic schools like ND or BC listed so looks like those are not options.

Anyways, thank you Dustin for the links, summary and answers you are giving. I still have a lot of questions about this mode; a week can not come soon enough.

MyCourt looks great. It would be cool if we could use MyCourt while playing MyGM as well instead of it just being in for MyCareer.

Yo this is so freaking dope. I had a general idea of what MyCourt was but actually seeing it is crazy. It legit looks like a spiritual successor to MyCrib from NFL 2k5. The shoe display and achievement wall was something I definitely wasn't expecting though. I'm also glad to finally get a glimpse of college....I get to be a freaking Bruin! I...I, I just want to cry man

. I miss College Hoops so freaking bad and this just makes it worse. Imagine having a full fledged college game with this stuff, it's so depressing to think about.

Also, I already have this dope idea for my MyCourt. If the customization works like I think it does, I'm hoping to get drafted by the Lakers and then have the walls covered in Laker legends (Mikan, West, Baylor, Wilt, Goodrich, Magic, Kareem, Wilkes, Worthy, Shaq, Kobe, Pau) and then me as the last one.

Yeah I don't get how that was ever a debate. Customization is ALWAYS a good thing. That's why so many people market their product or service as "Taylored to your needs".
