The Top Six Ballparks in MLB 15 The Show

One thing unique to baseball is its stadiums. Unlike other sports, field dimensions are not completely regulated. This gives baseball franchises the freedom to make walls as tall as they want, outfields as deep as they want, and foul territories as big as they want. Because of this freedom, baseball stadiums can turn out to be some of the most beautiful and unique facilities in the world. Of course, these wonders of the sports world are rendered quite well in MLB 15 The Show, but there are six that truly stand out.

6. Oriole Park at Camden Yards

While Oriole Park does not have the historic appeal of Fenway or Wrigley, it is still one of the most attractive ballparks in all of baseball. The main reason why it is so appealing in MLB 15 The Show is the quality with which the warehouse behind the stadium was replicated in the game.

It is very detailed, giving Camden Yards an authentic feel. On top of that, the rather short left field wall comes into play on balls hit into deep left field.

5. AT&T Park

Again, like Camden Yards, AT&T Park does not have the historic appeal of some other stadiums. However, it is still a stadium that features unique attractions which are captured very well in The Show.

What jumps out at me immediately is the cola bottle and the glove in left-center field, both of which are re-created in great detail in this game. That's not all, though. The brick wall in right field with the splash counter is a great, unique part of this stadium, which Sony does a great job of rendering to look just as good as it does in reality.

There are multiple standout features of AT&T Park that make it unlike any other stadium, and they are all shown quite well in MLB 15 The Show.

4. Dodger Stadium

When it comes to Dodger Stadium, it is not necessarily a park that features anything that immediately jumps out at you. However, there are multiple nuances that make this one of the most unique parks in all of baseball, and the unique parts are represented well in The Show.

First, the zig-zag roof structures covering the outfield stands. This part of the stadium is immediately recognized by every baseball fan, and if Dodger Stadium does have a major standout feature, those structures are it. The zig-zags are clearly seen in The Show and replicate the real ones very well.

Another part of Dodger stadium that is unique is the seating directly behind home plate. Without a wall there, the fans almost look as though they are practically on the field, which is again a feature that lets you know you are playing at the one and only Dodger Stadium.

3. Busch Stadium

There is one feature in Busch Stadium in this year's version of The Show that makes it superior to almost all the other ballparks.

No, it is not the St. Louis arch in the background, and no it is not all the World Champions flags on top of the scoreboard.

While those are features of the park that are great to see in MLB 15 The Show, it is Ballpark Village that truly sets Busch Stadium apart. The multi-million dollar district just past left-center field is a great sight to see when you fire up a game in St. Louis, and when you add it onto the arch and the pennants, this stadium looks just as impressive as the team that plays in it.

2. Fenway Park

Is there even a need to explain why Fenway is one of the best ballparks in The Show? The big green monster in left, the short right field wall that has a sea of Boston fans behind it, and the non-existent foul ground down the lines are all iconic parts of Fenway Park, and they all greatly impact gameplay when hitting the virtual diamond.

There are not many better feelings than hitting a virtual bomb over the monster (especially when we can't do it in real life). Fenway is just about as unique as it gets, both virtually and in reality, and it is a place that you must play in MLB 15 The Show.

1. Wrigley Field

When it comes down to Wrigley and Fenway, it is practically a toss up. Both are historic and iconic ballparks. However, the reason I would put Wrigley over Fenway as the best ballpark in The Show is because this is the last chance we will get to play at the old Wrigley Field.

Since the updates were not made for this game, we get to see the classic Wrigley. Not just the old scoreboard in center field, the outfield bleachers, and the ivy but also some of the great Chicago buildings in the background, and especially the rooftop fans behind the stadium. There are parts of the old historic Wrigley Field that will be lost when the stadium is updated in MLB 16 The Show, and because of that the old Wrigley Field is the best ballpark to play at in MLB 15 The Show.

Every ballpark in baseball is unique, and they are all great to experience in The Show. That being said, these are the best, and most worthy of attention when looked at in MLB 15 The Show. What's your favorite stadium in the game?

I think it's a testament to the quality of the game and the details that go into replicating the parks that this subject is even worth having a debate ... but it is. I'm not as high on Dodger Stadium ... it's certainly historical and just the other day I caught myself catching how the seats behind home plate don't have the wall. However I couldn't see myself listing it over the ballpark in Pittsburgh ... in fact that may be my favorite stadium (I've been dying to do a franchise in the NL Central primarily because they have so many great stadiums.

A few other stadiums might not make my top 5 but are definitely fun ... for example the Royals ballpark with the fountains and the crown scoreboard is instantly recognizable ... and definitely exciting when you can get a hit around the edge of the outfield and get a triple.

Generally speaking I don't like boxed in stadiums with retractable roofs as much as open ballparks; but Houston's park is very unique in terms of the outfield. The structure in the left-center gap is well done and produces some odd bounces ... and while I'd hate to be a player on it from a gamer standpoint I'll miss the hill in center when the take it out.

The quality of the ballparks is definitely a major factor in what keeps me playing this game over and over through multiple seasons. In fact when I pick games to play in my season I'm sure I play way more road games that home games just to get a taste for all the other parks.

I would have put Kaufman Stadium above Dodger Stadium any day of the week. And Minute Maid and Ballpark at Arlington too. Other than the backdrop, there isn't much to it. A boring symmetrical stadium.

How about Pittsburgh? The prettiest park in baseball.

I was thinking the same thing, Pittsburgh is often ranked as the most scenic ballpark in the MLB. Surprised it didn't crack the top 6...

I can respectfully disagree with this post. Yes, I enjoy playing at AT&T, and I am biased playing out of the NL Central so I rarely see Fenway or OPACY, but they definitely missed on Petco Park and PNC Park. Both are absolute jewels to play in during daylight in the game, and Petco is gorgeous at night too.

This list is confusing. Is the author listing the best real-life ballparks, then just posting pictures of them in The Show? Is he listing the parks that he feels were best recreated in The Show? Or is he making a list of what parks look best in The Show?

I disagree with many of the picks on the list, anyways.

Please give us free-roam camera to be able to watch a CPU vs. CPU game from any seat in the stadium.

As a lifelong Red Sox fan and season ticket holder I can say in real life Fenway is one of the most overrated and overhyped venues in sports. It is a dump that needs to be ripped down and rebuilt. The facilities are massively outdated, the aisles are too small and cramped and half the seats are facing the wrong way. The shine of nostalgia wears thin by the 5th inning.

All of those parks are great. Also Citizens Bank Park is great, awesome lightning and atmosphere. Dodger Stadium is nice in the game although the atmosphere hasn't been covered perfectly. Also very well replicated is the Athletics Park.

Pittsburgh looks a bit cartoony in the game for my taste, irl it's easily the best in all of Baseball.

It looks like the list is based on how the parks are represented in the game..

The list is strongly biased towards NL west/central teams.

I can't take any list seriously that doesn't include PNC.. I'm not a Pirates fan at all, but when they built that place they got it right.. It's just too bad they had to built it in Pittsburgh..

If you're making a list only based the parks in The Show, it's complicated.. There is a big difference in quality from park to park, I'll bet they had different people responsible for different parks.. O.Co Colosseum is a joke in real life.. A big ugly boring monstrosity, but in The Show, it's actually fun to play in, they nailed a lot of the details and just somehow made it seem cool.. Same with Rogers Center, in real life the place is a concrete shopping mall, but in the game it's pretty sweet. Marlins Park is better in game, Great American is well done..

Parks that are worse in game than real life are Coors Field, Minute Maid, Citi Field, Safeco, and something seems to be missing from Kauffman..

That's my 2 cents anyway..

I wonder how many others do what I do, go into a replay and track a high fly ball and spin and zoom checking out every detail..

True Great American is very nice in game too, I don't dislike Coors to be honest. Citi Field is a bit of a let down.

Yes to that there are significant differences when it comes to the quality of how the parks are captured compared to real life.

I haven't visited that many stadiums in my dynasty yet, but Great American has been my favorite by far so far.

After my current homestand, I head out to Dodger Stadium and AT&T. I'm looking forward to those games.

Chase for Dbacks is great with details and lighting. Love the TVs in "Fridays".

Not sure how Wrigley can be put on this list -- not a list of best ballparks in baseball, but a list of MLB15 The Show ballparks -- when such a major glitch like the foul ball boundaries exists in the game. Essentially makes playing there unplayable to so many people ...

# 16 Ghost Of The Year @ 06/15/15 08:11 PM
I too would pick PNC Park over Chavez Ravine, but being coverboy Puig's home field, I can see how the nod went LA way.

I have to agree here. A while back I even mentioned how good Rogers Centre and Oakland looked compared to their RL counterparts.

On the other end of the spectrum, something about Progressive Field just doesn't look right; as if it was last on the list and was rushed. It still doesn't even have a tarp.

I'm partial to The Polo Grounds and of course, Marlins Park.

The seats facing the wrong way kills me at Fenway. Luckily, by the 5th inning most Sox fans have had enough to drink that it puts a lot of your criticism to rest. I actually bought seats to a Yanks/Sox game at Fenway one time and the guy sitting next to me was literally directly behind an I beam. Guy had to lean in my lap to see anything that wasn't a giant steel beam. I like the nostalgia of Fenway and I'd like to see them keep the place upright but it really needs total seat and facility ripout and replacement in my mind. That might sacrifice some capacity and revenue but it really needs to happen.

How can anyone actually sell this seat for $50 and sleep at night?

1. Wrigley field
2. Kauffman Stadium
3. PNC park
4. Fenway
5. Camden yards
6. Minute maid park

They would be my 6 purely by personal preference. Wrigley is the one which I always look to play with given the choice, great traditional park with so many details.
