In a wrestling videogame, few things are more satisfying than applying your favorite superstar’s finisher to win a match.
Since I have the privilege of reviewing the game this year, I thought I would share with you the top 5 finishers I love to apply in WWE 12.
5. Wasteland – Wade Barrett
Now that The Barrett Barrage is in full swing on Smackdown, it's time to lay waste to some blokes. See what I did there? The Wasteland is a high impact move that has earned Barrett the fear and respect he so deserves.
4. The World’s Strongest Slam – Mark Henry
Not since the likes of Brock Lesnar has someone bulldozed his way through the WWE like Mark Henry. The World’s Strongest Slam has been his most devastating weapon. It has enshrined many superstars into The Hall of Pain including the likes of The Big Show, Kane and some poor unknown sound technician. After 15 years toiling in mediocrity, Henry and his World’s Strongest Slam are unbeatable.
3. The GTS – CM Punk
You’re getting sleepy, very sleepy -- OK, at least some unlucky opponent of CM Punk is dozing off. When you are “the best in the world,” you command respect. Nothing does that like the threat of a knee to the face. While simplistic, you have to admit it looks freaking cool. And it’s CM Punk. What more needs to be said.
2. The Skull Crushing Finale - The Miz
The brash young superstar from Cleveland has certainly made a name for himself in the ring and out. As one of the WWE’s most marketable superstars, Miz also has one of the most marketable finishing moves in The Skull Crushing Finale. If you like your face driven into the mat with no way to brace yourself, then you will love this maneuver. When The Miz delivers this jolting finisher - it's game over.
1. The Cross Arm Breaker – Alberto Del Rio
Alberto Del Rio Burst onto the scene by humiliating one of the WWE’s most beloved superstars, Rey Mysterio. Del Rio put the “little Chihuahua” out of commission with the brutal cross arm breaker. Once you are in, good luck getting out. This could be one of the most effective submission maneuvers in the business (I have always been a sucker for the submission), and has helped Del Rio already become a two time WWE Champion.
Honorable mentions:
The LaBell Lock – Daniel Bryan
This is a new and an old school submission maneuver. This can’t be good for your shoulder and face. That’s for sure.
Cross Rhodes – Cody Rhodes
An up and coming superstar, with a somewhat unique finisher. Cody Rhodes’ Cross Rhodes is a modified cutter DDT.
The Zig-Zag – Dolph Ziggler
The Zig-Zag is a lightning fast move that can be hit from virtually anywhere at any time during the match. I just wonder if he introduces himself before it’s delivered.
Well, there you have it. My top five finishers I love to apply in WWE 12, plus a few honorable mentions to boot.
What about you, OS? What are your top 5 finishers you like to apply in WWE 12?
