OS Roundtable: Which NFL Team are you most excited about playing with in Madden NFL 12 Post-Draft?

Which NFL Team are you most excited about playing with in Madden NFL 12 Post-Draft?

Dustin Toms - Tennessee Titans. This may be a homer pick, but I am more excited to play as the Titans than any other team in Madden 12. With the riskiest move in the NFL Draft, Tennessee took Jake Locker eighth overall. In Madden, Locker will have a terrible accuracy rating, but it'll be like having cover boy Peyton Hillis taking every snap. Plus with new linebackers in Akeem Ayers and Colin McCarthy, the defense could have a new look.

It's officially a fresh start in the Music City.

Steve Bartlett - Arizona Cardinals. Larry Fitz is one those players that cannot be stopped in Madden, no matter what the coverage and no matter who's throwing the ball to him. Adding Ryan Williams, a running back from Virginia Tech, to go with the power game of Beanie Wells will make the Cardinal red my team of choice. I loved the run game philosophy in Madden 11, and I will take full advantage of this tandem in Madden 12.

Number five overall pick Patrick Peterson's 4.34 speed and coverage skills should equate to him being a shutdown corner against any matchup in the league -- Andre Johnson, Julio Jones, Dez Bryant or anybody else.

Christian McLeod - Detroit Lions. Like Dustin, I'm going to be a "homer" here and say the Detroit Lions.

As someone that exclusively uses defensive tackles on defense, I can't wait to get my hands on Nick Fairley in addition to Madden 11 favorite Ndamukong Suh. Add a speedy Titus Young to the slot to complement Megatron and Nate Burleson, as well as a healthy Matthew Stafford/Jhavid Best, and you've got a pretty potent offense. As someone who struggles mightily to actually play with the Lions on a yearly in Madden, I haven't been this excited to see my home-team squad in video game format since the days of Mel Gray and Barry Sanders in Tecmo Super Bowl.

Jayson Young - Cleveland Browns. Hey Dustin, the Titans have had an inaccurate, scrambling quarterback for the last five years, so I don't see how Jake Locker changes anything for the Titans aside from having a different name written on their #10 jersey.

Steve, Arizona's defense and special teams definitely got a lot better with the addition of Patrick Peterson, but I can't see anyone using the Cardinals until they have a reliable quarterback, and a receiver who can take some of the attention away from Larry Fitzgerald.

Christian stole my pick with the Detroit Lions, so I'll take the Cleveland Browns, another up-and-coming Rust Belt team.

Defensive linemen Phil Taylor and Jamaal Sheard should replace troubled nose tackle, Shaun Rogers, and 6-foot-3 220-pound WR Greg Little gives QB Colt McCoy the downfield threat that Cleveland has lacked since the Braylon Edwards trade.

Cover athlete Peyton Hillis should have his ratings just as jacked as his biceps, and custom playbooks should make Cleveland a force from the Full House formation, with fullbacks Lawrence Vickers and Owen Marecic creating holes for Hilils.

Fans of the power running game should keep a close eye on Cleveland in Madden NFL 12.

Chris Sanner - Atlanta Falcons. Call me the flavor of the month or a potential cheeser, but Matt Ryan plus an almost certainly Madden-juiced Julio Jones will make for an unbelievable combo. Give Jones a few years to develop in franchise mode, and you have a combo of Montana/Rice-esque proportions. In an offense that already featured Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez, I can't help but feel all giddy. Maybe that's what Matt Ryan feels every morning now -- someone should ask him.

I mostly play with my team, 49ers, but I enjoy playing with the Ravens... and sometimes the Colts, when I want to have a real good QB.

the browns plus i wanna check out the new toy they got colt mccoy and the defensive players i created a bunch of the rookies and if they gonna play anything like these guys do my defense is gonna be great this yr phil taylor has created pressure on the qb like crazy i even have few picks and a fumble recovery with him also a 20+ int return for td.also the new cb and safety skrine and hagg have been around the ball like crazy skrine has had back to back int returned to house for td's and hagg just had a monster game against the giants and recovered 2 fumbles and returned them to house with way this defense is playing my offense dosen't have score that much because its scoring atleast 21 points game for me now by itself and has been shutting down other qb's and rb's,should be a great yr for my franchise.

I always play a season first with my Bears. After that, I'll play a season with pretty much any team. I don't really get into the franchise thing until the real-life offseason process begins.

I use Pittsburgh too, and yeah I agree that Mike wallace is always so blanketed. Pittsburgh is my favorite team, and besides the running game, on offense, I struggle to make good throws, Hines ward isnt fast and doesnt really catch as well as in real life, mike always has safety help(which is true) so I can only throw to the flats and slot receivers.

1. Buffalo Bills: They're my hometown team, and I like doing a franchise with a bad team to build them up over the years, so I always have fun with the Bills.

2. Cincinnati Bengals: Gotta admit, I wanna test out Dalton and Green together.

3. NFC South: I know it's a whole conference, but really. Newton and the Panthers, Brees/Ingram and the Saints, Ryan/Turner/Jones on the Falcons, and the Bucs who have been interesting the past few years.

I am a huge Seahawks fan but I am most looking forward to using my home state Detroit Lions. However, I typically play single seasons and use different teams.

If Jake Locker is gonna be like "Peyton Hillis" running the ball, then plan for him to have an injury shortened career in the NFL.

Well, hopefully the Cowboys will be rated low enough to build them up. They are a good team but after last year they dont deserve the high ratings.

# 77 SteelerSpartan @ 05/07/11 03:41 AM
Its always the Steelers.....

but it would be infinitely better playing with them if our teams 2 biggest strengths were represented in the game

1. Ben Roethlisberger consistently shrugs guys off and makes plays under pressure when things break down....A working evade/shrug mechanic should be available for certain QBs.....Heck Id even take an effective auto-shrug determined by ratings

2. Physicality---The harder hitting team should wear down their opponents late in the game if they're ratcheting up the intensity

Skipped out on Madden last year but may just pick it up (if I hear some good things) to play with A.J. Green and Andy Dalton.

# 79 SouthernBrick @ 05/07/11 04:56 AM
Chargers. I miss that 21 jersey.

If this game is good enough to buy which I hope it will be. Looks like it has potential this year.

Da Bears. I'm looking forward to using Peppers on defense, Cutler on offense, and Hester on special teams.
