How To Use The Editor

A Xbox 360 All-Pro Football 2K8 roster file is required to use the editor.

For detailed instructions on getting your roster file from the Xbox 360 to your PC, read the opening sections of Operation Sports' Editing All-Pro Football 2K8 For Dummies.

For the short version:

1. Download Modio and USBXTAFGUI to your PC.

2. Format your minimum 1 GB USB thumb drive for Xbox 360 use.

3. Copy your All-Pro Football 2K8 roster from the Xbox 360 hard drive to your USB device.

4. Plug your USB device into your PC and open USBXTAFGUI.

5. Locate the All-Pro Football 2K8 .ROS file and extract it to your PC's desktop.

6.Open the .ROS file in the All-Pro Football 2K8 PC editor.

Saving Your Work in the Editor

You will notice that any time you hit "Save" in the editor, a message pops up saying, "File still needs to be resigned in order to work in-game."

To resign your edited All-Pro Football 2K8 file, open Modio on your PC.

Click the "M" in the upper-left corner of the screen, then choose "Open the Resigner."

Hit "Load File" and boot up your All-Pro Football 2K8 roster file. Click "Rehash and Resign," and you are done with Modio.

Make sure to repeat this process any time you make changes to your All-Pro Football 2K8 roster file.

Loading Edited Files Onto Your USB Device

For the final step, open USBXTAFGUI on your PC.

Open your USB drive, locate your old All-Pro Football 2K8 roster file and delete it.

Right-click on the empty space where your old roster file was previously, choose "Inject" and load your new roster file.

Close USBXTAFGUI, remove your USB device from your PC, and you are now ready to go play some All-Pro Football 2K8.

Shouldn't that be illegal, dude?

Well it's not like I was lying. The program listed above wouldn't have cracked a save file anyways.

Just one suggestion before you buy the xbox. Make sure you know how to hex edit beforehand because it's still necessary if you're creating your own roster even with Finn's editor available. Just practice with an already released roster on this forum.

Anyone can get the 5 gold caps but first you have to unlock all the achievements/trophies.

Those games are a bit different. From what I've seen it doesn't look like they're editing save files but instead editing the contents of the blu-ray plus a few more steps. With that being said some save files can be edited because some developers don't encrypt the files. However most are encrypted and it so happens that 2k encrypted their game as well.

In reference to PS3 unsig; I repeat, that program will not decrypt save files. It will work on other types of files but none that pertain to editing a roster in 2k8.

Your options for roster editing at this point are this: buy an xbox and go from there or travel to the future and find a computer capable of brute forcing the 128-bit SSL encryption in a timely fashion.

Dude, if you haven't figured it out by now, if someone knew they probably would have posted it. Also, pretty much everyone has left this game for dead, so rarely does anyone even visit this forum any more.

I think you just need to get a 360 and a copy of APF 2K8. You could get both for about $100 if you search the used market.

Then you can edit as much as you want.

The PC editor only works on XBox 360 roster files.

I wonder will we ever see an update to this that allows players names to be edited?

The save button in the editor is not working for me. How else can I save my edits in APF 2K8?

As I understand it, the PS3's digital signing is still the hangup in getting the console to accept modified roster files.

What version of windows do you need in order for the editor to work? I'm running windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop. I'm unable to save my roster edits.

# 119 bigmook @ 06/30/13 08:59 PM
Im making my own rosters using the apf editor and when i save them it says i have to re-sign them for them to work on my xbox, does anyone know what this means or know how to re-sign? thanks

Not sure if you guys are aware but recently a program has been released that removes the encryption on ps3 files.

I'm no hex expert but I did a simple change just to show you guys it's legit.

(Capacity to 00000)

Now the only problem is Finn's editor isn't compatible with ps3 files since they aren't .ROS files.
