CHICAGO -When the game came down to the wire, Kevin Loughery called young guard Quintin Dailey's number. Dailey rose to the occasion, sinking a three pointer to lock the game at 81 apiece. From there, the Nets lost their cool, and the Bulls used the momentum to ride to victory.
"Loughery called a timeout, and he let me know that I ought to take the shot if one is available," Dailey said of the situation. He continued, "I missed the jumper, but Reggie [Theus] was able to grab the board. I stood behind the line waiting for my moment. I knew that if I got the ball in my hands I wouldn't miss this time."
Dailey totaled 15 points, second among Bulls shooters. Orlando Woolridge led the team with 22 points, while center Dave Corzine ended the game on a high note, notching a double-double in the opener.
The Bulls (1-0) gifted their new coach Kevin Loughery a win in their opener. Meanwhile, the Nets (1-1) lose on the road after claiming a win against the Hawks last night.
