WHO DO YOU THINK THE TOP 5 WIDE RECIEVERS ARE IN THE NFL TODAY!!!!!
Posted on May 23, 2009 at 09:05 PM.
You know i have to go with MY BOI #89 of the Carolina Panthers.. Steve Smith. This guy is an AMAZING wide reciever. Only 5-9 , he is by far THE BEST PUND _ FOR _ POUND and in my eyes ALL AROUND reciver in the NFL. He NEVER takes a play off and i believe he leads the NFL with the most 100 yard games by current NFL wide recievers.

If you disagree check out some of his highlight videos i have in my video section. YOU CANT tell me that theres a WR in the league who performs like this guy does .

MY TOP 5

1.Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers)

2.Larry Fitzgerald (Arizona Cardinals)

3.Randy Moss (New England Patriots)

4.Chad Ochocinco (Cincinnati Bengals)

5.Andre Johnson (Houston Texans)

Top Old Guys
1. Holt
2. Moss
3. T.O.
4. Harrison
5. Ward

Future of the NFL
1. Larry Fitzgerald
2. Andre Johnson
3. Reggie Wayne
4. Calvin Johnson
5. Greg Jennings

There are a TON of great wr's in the NFL right now. I really wanted to put Brandon Marshall in there but would like to see how he does without a great qb in Cutler. Roddy White also comes to mind, but has a lot of work to do to garner elite status. I am a Panthers fan and think Steve Smith is a b*tch but he is an incredible athlete. Others worth mentioning in no particular order: Lee Evans, Dwayne Bowe, T.J. Housh, Santana Moss, Santonio Holmes, Wes Welker, Anquan Boldin, DeSean Jackson, and Chad Ochocinco.
Sorry if i stepped on anyone's toes leaving someone out but it all depends on what you're looking for in a player. All these mentioned are assets to their teams and I would be comfortable throwing 200+ balls to in a season.

cameldunginit2: i respect your decision but i have 1 big problem with 1 of those names ! What has greg jennings done so far in his career that he should be mentioned with the top 5 recievers in the NFL today??? i know he's pretty good but top 5??? haha nawww dude, not greg jennings. I cant believe you didnt even give Steve Smith any credit lol its all good. I just wanna know what it is that you see in greg jennings??

carolina_boi: Jennings is a solid threat all the way around and once Rodgers comes into his own in Green Bay Jennings will have many spectacular years. Last year he had 80 catches, 1292 yards, and 9 td's. The year before that he nearly had a thousand yards but caught 12 td's. Last year the receiving yards were good enough for 6th in the league and his 12 td's in 07 was good for 4th in the league. I like to give credit where credit is due and Greg Jennings produces. As for Steve Smith, I will admit that he's a phenomenal NFL WR and as fast as any WR but i just don't like his attitude towards the team.

cameldunginit2: wooow ! those stats alone are enough to shut me up. Ok i can see why u would put him in YOUR top 5. Im impressed, i didnt realize that Greg Jennings put up impressive numbers like that, looks like i got some homework to do haha i got to watch a couple Greenbay preseason game last year and OF COURSE THE 1 against Carolina =D lol and the gut made some pretty impressive catches. As far as Steve Smiths attitude toward the team, im not quite sure what u mean by that? He's a team player and keeps that team motivated and pumped up , he's 1 of our team captains and he deserves it ! He's done A LOT for the Panthers Organization and 1 day #89 Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers will be in Canton, Ohio. TRUST ME ! - Just giving credit where credit is due !

carolina_boi: I'm certainly not denying his talent, but anyone that thinks it's ok to get into a fight big enough to break a teammate's jaw has some issues and in my opinion doesn't care about the team. I love your debates though keep 'em coming.

cameldunginit2: haha we are all humans and in the heat of things our emotions can get out of hand. Smith and Lucas were already bumping heads before the altercation. Lucas pushed it to far and smith broke his nose. NOW, let me stop there. If you want to judge Steve Smith off of that incident yo should look at how he handled the situation afterwards... After the fight was over, Smith and Lucas met privately and talked out there differences. Smith apologized to Lucas, the team, and all the fans. I live in North Carolina and i remember watching News14 when Smith apologized and said himself that he was going to serve his time and deal with the consiquences, which he did (2 game suspension). When he came back and joined the Panthers his 1st touchdown pass he ran to the sideline and gave the ball to Ken Lucas. I know it wasnt much but the way the guy handeled the situation says A LOT about his character and the type of person he his. Great guy.

carolina_boi: Great point, i also saw his apology and thought it was a good gesture. Maybe I'm too judgmental about the way I perceive his actions. All in all I'm certainly thankful to have him on the team, and I hope he keeps producing at such a high level for many years to come.

its all good man, Im thankful to have this guy on the team as well, he makes big plays for us and is definately a caliber of reciever Carolina has never had before !

carolina_boi: Muhammad was damn close, he even had 16 td catches in his walk year. Moose is by far my favorite Panther followed closely by Peppers. I hate that Pep wants to get traded but I understand where he's coming from. He's getting up there in age and wnats a championship. Apparently the Panthers are more interested in keeping washed up qb's than making the offense unstoppable. We have the running game and the receivers just nobody to throw it to them. If I had to choose between Smith and Delhomme... I would choose Smith a thousand times.

# 41 carolina_boi @ May 29
cameldunginit2: Yeah Moose is great, he adds leadership, experience, and just an al round great reciever for us. I wsh he couldve stayed with u those years he was with the bears but we got him back nw. Stee Smith is my fav. panther followed by J.Pep (hate that he wants to leave, but oh'well). Ur right about the QB situation, WHY did we sign Delhomme to a 5 yar extension?? I pray he doesnt start all 5 years. I want Matt Moore to have a shot at QB, Kids got potential !
