Lol Aaron Rodgers
Posted on January 1, 2012 at 06:00 PM.
When i said Aaron Rodgers didn't deserve a 100 rating, his fanboys got upset. Well his backup a 7th round pick in 08 Matt Flynn went 31/44, 480 yards, 6 TDs, 1 Int today against the most feared front 4 in the NFL. This is why i believe and agree with NFL analyst that Brady would have way better stats in that offense. Which is why i think Rodgers is a little overrated and shouldn't be in the Brady conversation, bc if it wasn't for Manning getting hurt he wouldn't be in this conversation. Rodgers on Madden should be his usual 94 ovr, but his WRing core need a serious upgrade. And its about time Rob Gronkowski get his 98ovr since he set the TD record and now the yards record for a TE!

Maybe Aaron has a bigger influence on Matt than people realize.

And you don't even mention Brees lol who could be the true #1 qb playing today.

I still have Brady No.1 bc no matter how bad it is, he finds a way to win like yesterday, after 1 D stop, 49 unanswered points after going down 21. Manning is still No.2 bc we saw this year how bad and how good they are with and without him. I have Brees No.3 bc he has to get in rhythm or he has a bad game so I cant put him in the top 2. I have Rodgers No.4 bc HIS 7TH ROUND BACKUP WITH HIS WR'S AND PLAYERS HAD A BETTER DAY THAN ANY GB QB IN HISTORY FOR TD'S AND PASSING YARDS, so Rodgers I've been saying is a product of his WR's, and yes I've like him since playing at Cal. 5 I have to say would be Vick, bc when he's healthy he can drop 400 yards on anyone. I couldn't put Big Ben up here, bc when you always have the leagues best D, and a top of the league running game and a really good group of receivers, Cutler, E Manning, hell ever Rivers would have won a couple Super Bowls with what Ben has.

Stop being a fanboy and admit that Rodgers is an elite QB. Flynn had a great day and it was awesome to watch, but did you see who was calling the plays yesterday? That's right, it was Rodgers. I'm not going to turn around and knock Brady because that would be stupid. We all know Brady is a great quarterback, but we all know Rodgers is too.

I agree 100%.. OVERRATED !

Rodgers isn't overrated he wins games that if left up to his defense Green Bay wouldn't win. To only lose 1 of those games is impressive when you play Detroit and Chicago twice. However lets not forget these are receivers that played with gun slinging Brett Favre. Rodgers is alot more accurate and more careful. Now while we bring up back ups lets not forget Matt Cassell, Brady's former backup.

Top 5
Brady
Brees
Manning
Rodgers

Manning

yep using his logic Brady is overrated(I'm not saying he is).He judging Rodgers off of 1 game that his backup played great. What about the year Brady was hurt. Cassell who hadn't played since high school went 11-5, not that much of a dropoff. Maybe it's NE system also not Brady. A whole season is a much better assessment than 1 game.

I'm not saying he's not elite, he's still in my top 4! I just think he's a little overrated and gets to much credit, bc as bad as his D is this year, they killed themselves for him last year to make him look better than he was.

EHey fanboy how about matt cassel in Ne...he did amazing...maybe brady is just playing in a good system? I knew the rodgers haters would jump on that but when a pats fan tries to bash him thats just sad. Cassel led the pats to the playoffs! And looked good doin it!

Rodgers is elite....who evades sacks better than him while still looking downfield...look at the o line he has! The reason his rating should be high is because he throws as good as anybody yet he also ruuns well

I think I understand where he is coming from a little. I use to say the same thing. I have played and coached football and receivers are alot happier and productive when they don't have to run in to defenders to catch a pass.

With that being said. Brett Favre trained the top receivers that GB has. Jenning and Driver (The Leaders) and I think the Tight end. With Aaron the plays are alot more stable and they have a lot less broken plays. So its like playing football on dirt and then playing on grass (Favre dirt field (not a jab just a comparison)Rodgers grass field). Which is why every thing looks so easy an fluid.
The problem I found with that argument is well....Rodgers sat on the bench for three years and had time to develop a rhythm and chemistry with his receivers. So it's sort of true but not fact.

Rodgers is elite I can say that ...I don't judge by stats because if that was the case Romo would be elite too. But looking at his play and how he can keep his team in the game EVERY game that makes him Elite to me.

The bottomline is Matt Flynn almost beat the Patriots last season, if he had a little more experience with clock management, he probably would have instead of running out of time in the Red Zone. The fact that he can play isn't some sort of indictment on Aaron Rodgers, it just means he can play. I mean the guy only won a National Championship lmao, wasn't he the offensive MVP of the game?

Aaron himself could play and had to sit for 3 years, Brady could play and had to sit until Bledsoe got hurt. Drew Brees had to get shipped out of time in favor of Philip Rivers, it happens all the time lol. Just because your a backup doesn't necessarily mean you won't become a star in your own right somewhere else...

Hahaha jennings played 1 yr with brett....and driver is not one of their leading receivers. No finley didnt play for favre either....jennings, nelson and jones....none of them were trained by favre. You gotta get your facts correct. And i played QB as wedll if were throwing that in there now too. Oh and if rodgers threw as many times as brees, according tgo yds per pass hed have almost 6000yds
