I fail to see how a talented QB, albeit a backup to arguably the best one in the league, lighting up a crap pass defense reflects on the starter. That's a lazy and asinine take. Does this mean that Joe Montana should be knocked because his backup ended up being pretty good too? Maybe, just maybe...Matt Flynn is a pretty good QB who had a superlative game against, again, a crap pass defense.
I would think, as football fans, that we all would be better than that. Even with a bias toward Brees or Brady or whoever...a guy who has won 20 of his last 21 starts; including 3 road playoff games AND the Super Bowl can't be "overrated". He's going to rightfully win the MVP and people need to just recognize that's he's about as good they come. He WAS a first round pick, after all. So, this really shouldn't be such a surprise.

You judge Flynn off of one game...wow and call Rodgers overrated. If you played QB it doesn't show. So I guess after Tebow's first win we should have called him great until he started losing. If we judge players off one game do you know how many players would be overrated. You judge a player by a season not one game that's idiotic. I guess Norris Cole will be the new leader for the Heat since he had ONE great game against Boston.
And if they wanted Rodgers to throw for 6000 I don't see anyone stopping him pass defense has been trash this year. When you have 4 qb's on the verge of breaking a 25 year old record. And the two top teams have some of the worst defenses in the league.
