WOW! Re dick u lus! This is nuts! I thought this was football! Hopefully the LFL comes back....so Ill have something to watch, other than Dana Whites great product!
Seriously ridiculous, NFL without kickoffs?!

That's just cray..
At this juncture any hope for a new physics based engine is a moot point because it's not going to happen. If they will not even patch something as simple as a chain gang into the game tells you right off hand their focus. USC and Texas cheerleaders are not as important as the "sights" of the most important aspect of the game, getting another first down. I know some will say this doesn't matter, however it does, if EA fails to address the little things, how can they perfect the bigger issues at hand to provide a better overall gameplay environment?...
The weird part to me is if they really wanted to stop concussions the big step would be to make mouthpieces a regulation of the uniform basically saying you have to wear one. That would lower concussions substantially. This id all from these old player lawsuits and owners trying to protect their big money investments. The even more funny thing is there have been plenty of injuries were the parure either was barely touched or not touched at all and blew acl's our achilles. To me they're ruining defense which advantage is to intimidate by fear and killing the will of the offensive player and his ability to septate the man from the ball. This will lead to more and more bloated offensive stats and confusion on these grey area rules that hurt the game on so many levels.

Well in middle school we started at the 35 yard line no kick and I thought it was boring. Next year in freshman ball I became a wedge breaker and it was the most fun I ever had on the field lol some people enjoy special teams... Sadly seems like a large amount of the competition commitee and Goodell never got these great experiences. Also punting would be far more dangerous potentially.
Roger Goodell is ruining the NFL. If this trend continues they will have no fans watching. Bring back Pete Rozelle!
LOL..... Its because we're all fed up... we've seen what can be and should be done but isn't... NCAA and Madden slams the the same game down our throats over and over.... What makes these games (NBA2K)is the presentation... sure they may have some gameplay problems but when you DON'T HEAR THE SAME LINES 5 times in one game and see/hear the crowd and announcer react to whats happening on the field this makes a huge difference. Both Madden & NCAA feel like the announcers aren't even calling the game that I'm playing sometimes.... I WILL NOT BUY ANY FOOTBALL GAME IF THEY DON'T IMPROVE THEIR PRESENTATION PERIOD!!!!!!!!!
thats the worst idea ever the nfl is gonna turn into cfl, except the c stands for crap
Please NO and move the kickoff back..
nfl (national football league) = nffl (national flag football league). If this is past then we should impeach goodel, if we can.

I was giddy to have Grady Sizemore get to MLB because Sizemore is finally in a game, even though it's fairly common around here.
It's stupid ideas like this that make me think that Dana White might be right. If the rest of the sports keep cutting the genitals off of their game, UFC/MMA might be the biggest sport in the next 10-15 years.
This is the year I'm not going to fall for the hype -- I now have enough sports games that I actually like. Heck, I even enjoy playing NHL 2K10 on my XBox and I pretty much despise hockey. Last year I bought NCAA because of the $20 pre-order credit at Amazon and got then caught up in Tebowmania and wanted to play him in Madden.
If they keep passing stupid rules like this, I predict in 15 years the NFL will be a bocce ball league.

They keep putting lipstick on this pig. I wish they would make some real advances like a physics based animations. No more canned graphics that are boring by week 4.
lets just have the kicker and the returner only on the field, same for punts too...
We all say this but then we all buy it anyway. That's why they don't change anything. Seriously, we are talking about Madden in April, when August and the hype start you will buy in.

At least that is what happens to me every year. I think it is mostly because I love the NFL.
I am a Chicago Bears fan. You know my answer haha
its dumb they changing rules in basketball and football making it a girly sport lol
Totally agree, it's like saying that if cars never exceed 20 mph roads are much safer.
Are you reading this EA?
No of course not.. What was I thinking?
This is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard of the NFL considering in a long time. Why don't we put a red shirt on the QB so he can't be hit and make it flag football for the rest of the players?
khaliib on April 16, 2012 at 06:53 PM.
For any amount of time to be spent on this just says it all.
Especially after last years issues throughout the game and in every mode.

Besides, we can create these players ourselves and place them in the recruiting pool, so how is this suppose to be something "New" or even exciting?

Kinda the same deal with the Cover voting.
Folks are making their own Custom covers now, but there's so little they've done to this game since being on Next-Gen, they're still pushing it.

Even more goofy is the thought of marketing former "Pro Football" players in a "College Football" game which in a way overshadow's the corrent College Stars of the game.

Man, the stuff they TRY and market is funny, but somebody will spend $60 for it I guess.

If this is what Ea is spending their time and money on this year then they want be getting any of mine. Fix the game instead of adding more fluff.
There definitely is a lack of "fun and excitement" to EA's football games. I agree with jaynny15 that NCAA is a bit better than Madden. I don't think I every played a full game on Madden 11 or 12 before I traded them in.
Illcat on April 16, 2012 at 05:05 PM.
I don't like the idea of having the individual player being unlocked so much. Give me the classic team that they played on instead just like 2K. If I'm not mistaken this was in earlier versions of the game, last gen I think.

@Vaporub Sim means realistic. Barry Sanders being recruited out of high school in 2013 is not realistic. That's what he's saying.
Vaporub83 on April 16, 2012 at 03:58 PM.
Survivor, how would legends effect sim? Essentially they would just be the top recruits in the class. I don't think it would effect realism just because anyone could get the players. But I understand that people will share your opinion on this topic, so for that a simple option before starting your dynasty could alleviate all stress.
Cubone_Jones on April 16, 2012 at 03:05 PM.
Am I the only one that thinks recruiting past legends to your dynasties is the dumbest idea ever? I want to keep my dynasties as sim as possible.

I do think it would be cool to have a mode where it recreates the Heisman winners best moments and puts us in the game to replicate or even trump what the stars did in some of their best moments.
I love NBA 2k 12 wouldn't be cool if while playing a EA football game during a big play (long run, huge hit, or turnover) the sideline would explode like on 2k when someone is dunked on (just watch the bench if you don't know what I mean)

Someone that I've found to make very good representations is DrSlimme. He is very accurate as far as I can tell. Check out his work, he has a ton of additions in the Vault.
rynecandy on April 16, 2012 at 02:20 PM.
Andre Ware stated in a local sports radio show (610 am Houston) that he was the first one to go up to EA and put a suit on with all the markers and have his motions tracked. This was when the Tournament started, he didn't state what modes he would be playable.
Vaporub83 on April 16, 2012 at 01:43 PM.
I have never even thought of having legends in dynasty, but that would be great. If a couple of the legends would be recruits each season, I would definitely play until they all graduated. What if Barry Sanders and Doug Flutie signed to UCLA for example could they turn UCLA into champs by the time they graduate?
msuhockeycj on April 16, 2012 at 01:41 PM.
Well Amazon's is pretty dumb advertising Michigan (Adidas team) to have Nike Pro Combats. I would assume they mean Michigan State's Pro Cmbats that they beat Michigan in last year, but hey, if they can't even get their regular jersey color right why would I expect them to get these?
damn, i also feel the same way....i only play mlb the show and nba 2k12. They are both great games especially if you pay attention to the details in the game..To me, when i play madden, i lose interest very quickly maybe just 1 quarter..its likes looking at a repeated show..the same animations, nothing new..Ncaa i do play cause i think its better madden slightly but i do hope they come thru good with ncaa 13
Shouldn't be paid. Plus you can make some good endorsements off of it.
I knew Wade was a good flopper, but I had no idea his flip-flopping skills were so polished.

For the record, these guys try out for the team, AND they do get paid, A couple of hundred bucks a day plus cash rewards for medals ($25,000 for a gold). If you don't want to play during the summer, don't play, but don't ask for extra compensation when you made more in 2 weeks in Beijing than the average American makes in a fiscal year. There are troops getting shot at in the Middle East for less than that. C'mon man!
They probably should get paid they have to make a 3 year commitment. Would you be willing to commit for 3 years for free? We all believe we should be compensated for time and effort. The public tends to expect millionaires to work for free when they would never think about it.
I voted P. Willis and Megatron already for the final 2
Well, now you know you're not alone!

I know right? It's tough because I love Sid the kid but I have to go with the Flyers cause my father played for them. Crazy that another overtime game happened again tonight...madness.

Going to go with the OSFM 25 Man Opening Day lineup and will follow the Rotation early on. When Britton gets back from injury I will reevaluate the rotation.
Aranor on April 14, 2012 at 01:40 PM.
I still say they should fire haumiller because from all the things the fans as for from presentation, better roster size, and better game play. All we get is the same thing every year with little to no improvements. Put someone in that actually cares to make a better game.
