I can dig it. Video was a good idea.
Good idea, stupid video.

AKA terrible video
AKA horrible clip
AKA awful video

I find it difficult to see how new pass trajectories and catching animations are gimmicks.

That said, I see what you're saying...
Isn't it hilarious that he got a pre-owned Madden 12 for 360? haha
Love the idea!
I support this idea

Recently purchased All Pro 2K8, I wanted to make sure I was not being too critical of EA. Unfortunately, I realized I was not. Game after game I realized how much 2K, Visual Concepts places emphasis on the fundamentals of real life movement and momentum. EA focuses to much on the glitz and glam (graphics) of the game rather than the down and dirty aspects of a real football sim. As a result of All pro and the atmosphere on the field and on the sidelines it was easy to look past the minimal graphics. This game was made over 7 years ago and much of the physics and mechanics out due NCAA 12. All Pro was not perfect by any means, however, it presented real life. I will be looking forward to when competition re enters the football market again.

At least some people are starting to realize that these games tiburon puts out are no were near as good as the old Maddens
jmik58 on April 20, 2012 at 12:57 AM.
It doesn't matter what "we" want because "we" are not representative of the market in general. The average gamer who would buy NCAA is attracted by the gimmicks. The average gamer doesn't give a rip about the line play. Devs do a decent job of addressing the needs of the core group of gamers while doing their thing to meet sales goals driven by the casual market. I'm more excited about how well the Defensive AI read-and-react functions; more-so than line play. The R&R Defense is something that could revolutionize the way the game is played on video games; yet I'm disappointed more supposed "hard core" gamers here at O.S. aren't showing they appreciate it as such.

They are doing the marketing in the correct order. Big stuff should always be saved for last. Think of it this way, in the NFL draft the late riser get the most love. Guys like Robert Griffin III are now started to get over analyzed aka critiqued harshly. EA has the mantra "Leave them wanting more"

Best improvements are definitely better served being explained sooner than later. They are not doing themselves any justice. EA Sports needs to release the REAL changes earlier....not later.
does van exel have a portrait?

Nice pass by Thomas and how strange for having a KFC restaurant with its traditional food, why not change the name of the restaurant then?

I really don't have a favourite of all time but if I had to choose one it would be Shaq.

Derrick Thomas - KC Chiefs HOF linebacker

I grabbed The Show on release day because I knew it would come through. I don't have any confidence like that in NCAA and will wait for reviews and the honeymoon period to pass before deciding on a purchase.
I hope they are both good this year. I miss the competition between them.
Nice to see 2K investing in their ****ty servers.

Bill Buckner (Chicago Cubs).
He would play hurt even when he was hobbling around.
Great hitter and team palyer. HOF to me!
JerseyDevil23 on April 19, 2012 at 04:54 PM.
Valid points. MLB 12 did a nice job and I think NCAA will not disappoint either!

Thanks! Glad you are enjoying it.
I really haven't seen much in the way of previews for the new Live, but I am apparently one of the minority of people who LOVED Live '10. Not to say 2k hasn't done a great job the last couple of years, b/c they have, but competition is great for sports games, and I've always had a spot in my heart for the right stick dribble control.

I havent had a chance to play this yet due to work thanks for the quick impressions. This is the new excitebike
Meatfish87 on April 19, 2012 at 12:07 PM.
You're welcome! Thanks for posting a quality product!
Obviously, its only for street mode, they had guys like Drake, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg in the game before
I just can't believe we went from Jordan in NBA 2k11 to over 30 classic teams in NBA 2k12 to Bieber! I doubt I will buy NBA Live 13 on release without a major pre-order incentive but what the heck is happening at 2k?
the graphics are good, gameplay looks stale... Looks like my football fix will need to come from watching the actual game.
I'm waiting for the day, when real time physics are used, strategies are necessary for winning games, actual presentations from ESPN. Real recruitments were I have to travel to actually watch the game.
I want more realism, and gameplay... this is not cutting it for me.
This is the first year I will not purchase this game at any point. I might have to just purchase mlb 12 the show or nhl 13 later for my sports/management fix. I'm so pissed that no other company can make a nfl/ncaa game... These series are complete garbage... When will they FINALLY listen?
Anyone else saying this is the last straw? Its the only way EA can be affected and changed... stop buying the supply!! force them out.
Its not that hard skipping a game, remember what you fell in love with the first place.. the game itself, college gameday, your college experience. All I ask from my fellow OS's... boycott this game and lets make a difference... If you think I'm crazy then your not the right person for this movement!
I wouldn't say likely, Despite having the worst record, their chances are still only 25%.

The number one positive is that The Unibrow is likely coming to Charlotte. He's just that good.
N51_rob on April 18, 2012 at 07:05 PM.
@DJ Thanks, yeah I didn't post it but I dropped CPU pitcher consistancy to 4, and am using a custom cam that is zoomed it a bit from catcher classic. Helps me focus on the strike zone.

@Meatfish, not really playing a game a day, I got a late start. I won't be following transactions, but I did go through an put in all the injuries that happened prior to April 6th, so Roberts, Britton and Wada are not available yet. I have Trading off, I won't open trading for the CPU until mid June.

Thanks for following guys!

for a second I thought this was going to be a hate letter to OS,

you are a true hero, god bless America

It was a knee jerk reaction. But I am prone to those and playing for me is a high pressure situation. Patton had/has one job get lefties out. Truth be told, I used the OSFM spring rosters to get through spring training and he was headed to AAA anyways, but I wanted to used the OSFM Opening Day roster. He will get another chance.
DustinT on April 18, 2012 at 06:42 PM.
Good luck at training, and we can't wait to see you back!
Meatfish87 on April 18, 2012 at 04:46 PM.
Do you think it was a knee-jerk reaction to demote Patton after two games? Maybe he shouldn't be used in close situations until he becomes a little more seasoned?
Meatfish87 on April 18, 2012 at 03:54 PM.
Are you playing one game per day following the real life schedule? Also, I am about to start my franchise and I am debating on using Brian Roberts even though he is injured in real life. Are you following actual transactions as well?

Transformers War for Cybertron was a great game and its sequel is looking pretty good.

QoTD: Just that it is here everyday.

That's a lot of HRs so far. I like Baltimore's lineup. You are averaging just over 2 BB's a game, which is good.
Kentucky_Wildcat23 on April 18, 2012 at 11:10 AM.
I'm stoked for this game. I am still currently playing NCAA Football 11. The Kentucky Wildcats are my team and its always a fun challenge to try and build the program up from the ground especially in the SEC.
MLB The Show and NBA 2K are games that I can play year-round without forcing myself to play. Madden, I struggle to play more than a few games in Franchise before I lose interest. NCAA tends to last a little longer because of recruiting.

Still, both games lack so much in regards to immersion and presentation compared to the 2 games you're talking about. Weird how EA can have solid crowd noise in NHL but yet it is so lacking in the football games.
I can understand looking out for player safety, and IMO the league has accomplished a lot of positive things to make the game safer and they continue on that trend; which is a good thing.

But at the end of the day, football is still a collision sport and a violent game. These players know what they are getting themselves into.

Getting rid of kick-offs is absolutely wrong. If this happens, you have just taken away such great plays as the Music City Miracle, one of the greatest plays in NFL history. You just killed off one of the greatest calls in NFL history - New Orleans Saints Superbowl Onside Kick. You just killed off careers that could have possibly blossomed (example - Derrick Mason, Devin Hester).

You know what, while we're game changing, let's change the NBA free throw rule to just one shot instead of two on shooting fouls.

There are 3 phases to football, and we all know what they are. This essentially eliminates that 3rd phase, or at most makes it 2 and a 1/3 phases in the game.

To answer the question - absolutely NOT.

If the NFL REALLY cares about its fan base, this would be killed immediately. Again, the players know what they are getting themselves into when they sign up to play.
The owners are ruining the league and the game. This is the most stupid thing ive heard of. The owners need to realize they own sports franchises, not a movie studio and the players are athletes not entertainers. Their stupid rule changes have already ruined the game and have made it boring. Concussions are more common now because the players have lost the fundamentals and they dont wear their helmets properly, they under inflate their helmets so they will just slip off w/o having to use the ear holes

I'm looking forward to it also. I'm an Arkansas fan. The game looks awesome

On/Off switch for the classic players, I don't want to recruit Barry Sanders, he is in the NFL HOF, not an 18 year old kid.
Eski33 on April 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM.
Give me classic teams and uniforms.
this is a horrible idea, the players get payed millions of dollars to play football that means that there willing to risk their bodies for the game. i just dont understand anymore.. its sad
Take away the kickoff, takes away the onside kicks. If your down at the end of the game and need the ball back, you are out of luck. NFL is trying to take away strategies as well. This is not the NFL I fell in love with.
I think if the NFL wants to tank and lose all it's fans then taking away the kickoff is a great idea.

Just listen to the crowd noise before every kickoff. It's the most exciting play in football because it's either a big game changing 100 yard play or a 20 yard gain. The rest of the game is a bunch of 4 yard gains, followed by some 15 yard passes, with 2 to 3 huge runs or passes.
Why don't they take off the helmets and play flag football. They're heading in that direction anyway! Makes me sick...
Hell No!!!!!!!!
This is one of the dumbest ideas the NFL minds have ever floated out there. Simply stupid. Just make it a Two-Hand Touch Pro League then. Another reason why College is 100x more exciting than the NoFunLeague.
