The cat sleeping on the grill was awesome. Cats will make themselves comfortable in any spot.QoTD
Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Wizards= hometown teams. wish Baltimore had an NBA team
Florida State Seminoles= In many ways they originally got me into sports. As a young child I would watch Seminole football games and think the war chant was just so awesome. I may not have understood the game but 80000 people doing the war chant was the coolest thing I ever saw.

Steveo glad you can spend more with your OSers and getting know us all. Glad to you are enjoying your full time job on here.

Ya elTodd, that video had me in tears.Boom, the Knicks played so well w/ Lin in the lineup, but I agree, Melo and Stat have no chemistry. Doubt they would win the series with or without him, it's unfortunate Lin was injured. Definitely would have been an intriguing match-up.

boomhauertjs on May 1, 2012 at 10:14 AM.
Glad you're back to doing the daily links Steve and really happy for you that you're able to make OS your full-time gig.I'm wondering if the Knicks might be better off without Amare since it's pretty obvious he and Carmelo have zero chemistry on the court.
QoTD:
Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavs - Thanks Dad. I look forward to passing on the curse to my 3-month old son.
Dayton Flyers - Proud alum.

The "Let Grandma Rest in Peace" video was hilarious. Made my day.

Great news Steve! Congratulations! When I first read the headline, Ithought you were leaving.I enjoyed your story. OS has come a long way over the years.. My brother and I used to keep stats in a notebook too on Tecmo Bowl...memories.

It's not just Lebron, any high basketball IQ player knows how to flop. Steve Nash, Kobe, Durant, Pierce and the real king of flopping Dirk. Yes the NBA today is more offensive oriented and I think it is hurting the game. Players aren't as skilled as they were back in the "golden era", players are too friendly with one another and games are won and lost with free throws. What can you say about the refs, I mean they miss calls, they aren't like the old refs, they knew that it wasn't personal and wasn't so fast to fire a "T" at someone. But I have to say this defense requires more skill than ever, since the hand checking rule basically allowed a poor defender look great. So it works both ways some guys would probably be out the league if it wasn't for hand checking. And some players today are thrieving with the no hand checking. D.rose would not get the rim as easily as he does, Westbrook, and Rondo for sure, he might not be in the league if hand checking was still legal. The defensive 3 seconds rule isn't ridicules, coaches should be able to teach their players proper rotations, the zone is basically the same thing, its cheap and hides players that can't play defense. I just completely disagree with the rest of your statements but hey to each his own.

Jakeness23 on May 1, 2012 at 12:34 AM.
Yes, God I hate it with a passion. Almost as much as I hate how easily some technical fouls are called at times and how refs favor the superstars. If they're so good, should they need you to help them?I hate a lot of the rules too. DEFENSIVE 3 seconds? That's ridiculous. If you're a pro ball player and you have a pro coach, you should be able to find a way to score no matter what. I had to adjust my game in high school when we played against a big shot blocker, why is the game easier for pros?
I love the NBA but a lot about it annoys me as well, I could go on a huge rant myself, but I won't bore you with that. But if they keep making the NBA and NFL as soft as soccer, they are going to lose A LOT of fans...

Much Respect Steve, Congrats to the success man. You deserve it all for the hard work and dedication to bringing us not one of the best but THE best website on the internet!

H to the Oza on April 30, 2012 at 10:19 PM.
That is great news, congratulations! Ive been an avid reader of the website for half a decade now and im looking forward to many more good times on OS. On a side note, its cool to see how OS looked in the past

acreyman on April 30, 2012 at 09:48 PM.
Awesome! And with the rumors of the next-gen consoles going new games only, this site will become even more important. Reviews will be the only guage we can use before we buy the game since rentals will cease to exist, and buying a game and trading it in because its crap will not be an option in the future. Glad to hear the news man! Sounds like we are really going to need this site more than ever soon.

nolesfan3 on April 30, 2012 at 07:41 PM.
Very awesome Steve. I don't post a lot, but I come here everyday to see what is going on in the world of sports gaming, and I appreciate all the hard work you and the rest of the OS members do. Congratulations on landing a dream job, and look forward to your many more years of success.

HARTSTOPPER on April 30, 2012 at 07:02 PM.
Congrats big guy. The work you guys do on a daily basis with your non biased views on sports games is what kept me coming back. I used to frequent sites like www.gamespot.com to get all of my reviews until I found OS. Now, with writers, gamers, and developers who all have the same interests as I do, I no longer need to go to other sites. I get all of my news here, and I wouldn't have it any other way.A HUGE HUGE HUGE Thanks to you and your crew for providing those of us who love our sports games an opportunity to talk, gripe, complain and compliment sports games of our time.

I'm reading every one of these comments and while I can't thank all of you individually, I do thank everyone! Hope you guys return tomorrow for the daily Morning Other Stuff!

Congrats man I still remember when I found this site years ago when Maddenmania went down hill. Thank you for such a great website to read up on the latest sports gaming news and interact with a great community. This is def one site I spend a lot of my free time on.

Man, you're living the dream Steve! Congrats for being so courageous and never giving up on your passion. Really looking foward to the future of OS. It's already one of my favorite sites and I can't imagine it getting better but I know it will with you running full-time.

EmmittSmithx22x on April 30, 2012 at 05:17 PM.
Steve you honestly scared the crap outa me. When I saw "I'm taking my talents to" I was like no way! This can't be happening!!!!! 2012!!! 2012!!!! lolafter reading the article
I was celebrating like the Miami heat fans. (lol)
But congrats on doing what you love, and hopefully, it will end up in better pay. You run an amazing site, and many many more people will come to realize and migrate here.
As a relatively no-name face in the crowd on OS, I always found it amazing that when we had meebo, that If I sent you a message you would respond to me and we had awesome conversations about Dallas cowboys (most of it just consoling each other for bad playoff performances or missing the playoffs all together.) You do an amazing job, and you do a great job with connecting with the sports fans and bringing us all types of good news info. Glad to hear your going to be doing this full time man. Cheers!

ImaGamer_OS on April 30, 2012 at 05:12 PM.
Congrats sir. It is a great feeling to turn your passion in to your way of living. I have done the same here in Australia. An inspirational story that will hopefully inspire at least one of your members to chase their dreams.

in 2k and other sports games, they need to have a name, then what the announcers say, this is in MLB: The Show

Wishing you the very best; and cant wait to see the indepth "YOU", and OS grow even more, as OS has been a big part of my daily ritual since 2004. God bless your family, and you for keeping with your dreams and where ever it takes you.Congrats

This is great news indeed Steve, and congrats! Thanks for all you have done and for all the great stuff still ahead, and thanks for your sacrifices.

I saw the tweet and decided I would comment.I'm glad to hear that you will be able to work on OS full time. I think one of the biggest reasons a lot of us invest so much time here, is because we know this place is here to stay. Your story really shows that you're dedicated to OS. I love the community here and I wear my OS shirt so often, that I have actually worn a few holes in it... good luck with your future plans with OS. The community will be here to support you.

SouthernBrick on April 30, 2012 at 03:18 PM.
Congratulations. Will be on this site for years to come. Visit OS just about every day.

statum71 on April 30, 2012 at 03:10 PM.
Man that scared me......I thought you were leading up to leaving. I wouldn't wanna see OS fall off. Its the website I visit multiple times a day, every day.

Congrats Steve...I have been apart of the website for a very long time-Happy that you are doing this full time now!Anyone get all nostalgic and click the OS design link? It is awesome to go back in time and look at all of those images.

Congrats! Steve,OperationSports has been my favorite daily visit site for many many years, and I always just came here to read but then a few years later said "why not add my view” and started posting here and there. It has also directed me to a few other great community sites that have come and gone. But through out all the new sited I always find myself back at OS. Thanks, for continuing on a great journey.

I found this site and joined last year, now I am OS to thebone and for life!!! Btw congrats at first I thought it was gonna be some kind of bad news lol

Glad to hear the heart and soul of OS is here to stay and focus in full time.Happy for you, Steve!

Austin97 on April 30, 2012 at 01:41 PM.
If you get rid of kickoffs then what would players like Mark Mariani or Patrick Peterson do. Their careers are defined by their kick returns. If you decide to punt instead of kick it the offense will have much better field posistion than they would with kickoffs.

Austin97 on April 30, 2012 at 12:59 PM.
I agree with balljonesjr. I will be really mad if they bring all the helmet to helmet crap into Madden.

Austin97 on April 30, 2012 at 12:56 PM.
I've always wanted to be able to see the comentators and now with Madden 13. I'm glad that they are getting rid of Chris and Gus. Gus really grows on you after you play for a hour or more.I also want to see if Career Mode:Be A Coach? Is any good. I hope that it's similar to Dynasty Mode in NCAA.

bumpyface on April 30, 2012 at 12:55 PM.
I just want to see both games at their best. NBA 2k12 is a good game but a step down from 2k11 in my opinion. I imagine the 2k developers took a well deserved break inbetween 2k11's success and 12s programming. Like I said, 12 is good, but 11 was great. But now with Live 13 on the horizon, 2k has to bring that "killer instinct" mentality back with the development of the next installment. I'm hoping to see improved online (including different difficulty lobbies), more fluid controls, better response time (on and offline), and less bugs upon release. I will rent both games (no pre-orders), and which ever is the greatest among the two, gets my $65. If they are both great games, maybe I will have to do a little OT, and cop both of em.

Badboy49er on April 30, 2012 at 12:44 PM.
Congrats Steve, OS has always been one of my fav sites and you are a big reason in which the way you have run it.

aloncho11 on April 30, 2012 at 12:35 PM.
That's a terrific story Chris! Probably the best way to start up this new stage in your life. Congratulations! Best of lucks man! I leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Albert Schweitzer: "Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful."
Congrats again!
