Yeah, I'm sick of it too and I think they could do something about it... Fine them if it's an obvious flop, I don't think thats to hard or hand out technicals and if they still do it then fine the crap outta them... Give the coaches 2 or 3 chances to challenge a foul, then fine them for slowing the game down, it's so simple and needs to be fixed

I would have sign him. He was going to get ten years, no matter what team he went. Maybe not as much money. Its similar to the ARod deal with Texas. Latin/Hispanic community mortage for that prime time Latin/Hispanic star. He is off to a terrible start, but I think he will still finish with his average yearly stats...

QOTD

NBA: Chicago Bulls- I started watching NBA basketball in the early 90's and was an immediate Bulls fan because of MJ, Pip and Horace Grant. Although I don't follow the game much today, I can say that a part of my heart is with the Bulls.

EPL: Arsenal- Dennis Bergkamp is another of my sport heroes and I followed his career closely both at Arsenal and for the Netherlands; two teams that have always played flashy and stylish Football.

NCAA Basketball: I have always supported teams that brought a different proposition on the court, be it The Wolverines, The Tar Heels, The Blue Devils, The Rebels, etc. I'm always looking for that special team that stands out from the rest.
redskinst21 on May 1, 2012 at 08:59 PM.

bomberooski on May 1, 2012 at 07:35 PM.
I try to get in one for each part of the year.
Spring: Flag football
Summer: Softball
Fall: Flag football
Winter: Basketball

All of them are leagues through the cities Parks and Rec. Keeps me feeling young
LOL Steve got jokes. Nice write up Kelvin! EA Vancouver is badass huh?? When i went for OS for Fight Night Champions I was in awe how amazing their facility is.
sportznut02 on May 1, 2012 at 05:47 PM.
Great to see the morning other stuff back on the front page of OS. Also congratulations Steve on making OS your full time job. I can`t wait to see where OS goes from here with you on board full time.

The cat in the grill was great and there were some pretty impressive playgrounds.

QOTD:
MLB-Cleveland Indians
NBA-Cleveland Cavs
NFL-Cleveland Browns
College Football and College Basketball- Michigan Wolverines.

The Ohio teams are easy because I grew up in north central Ohio. I picked up on Michigan basketball and football because of an older cousin. I had a cousin 2 years older than me who liked Michigan around 5 or 6 I decided to like Michigan because he did.
Scott on May 1, 2012 at 05:24 PM.
as far as my favorite teams go: Longhorns, Cowboys, Mavs, Rangers.
Scott on May 1, 2012 at 05:23 PM.
I'm so glad you brought this back Steve
PioneerRaptor on May 1, 2012 at 03:32 PM.
QOTD:

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles - I was a fan of the Cowboys because of my dad, then the Titans because of Eddie George, then eventually the Eagles because the time when I really got into football, I watched them bet the New York Jets in like 2003 or so.

NCAA FB: Oklahoma Sooners - Didn't get into College football until I met my best friend, he is a Sooners fan and I followed suit.

MLB: Texas Rangers - Hometown Team. Baseball is really the only other sport I follow besides Football and College Football.

NBA: Dallas Mavericks - Hometown Team. Cheer for them in the playoffs, otherwise don't keep up.

NHL: Dallas Stars - Hometown Team. Same as above.
LOL! It was a pleasure to meet you Kelvin! Japadogs FTW!

Nice knowing you! Time to find a new writer for soccer and hockey.

Thanks for bringing again Other Stuff, I'm sure those will make my day when I'm not in a good mood.

The Brain Fart article was really interesting, I hate those moments specially when I had something important to say. The onces that occur me a lot are the one with the doors and the phones, once in a while I've the feeling I got a message because I felt some movement in my pants.
TDKR trailer was great, July can't come quick enough.
I don't get the 3D printer, I can't understand it, maybe it's too technological to me.
The granma ad and the cats' gif were funny, it got me some laughs.

QOTD:
First and most important to me by far is Nacional. It's my local futbol team and one of the two best in our country and one of the top teams in South America. I began loving it because of my dad and uncle, liking a futbol team over here is mainly influenced by your family and in very rare ocasions the kid prefers other local team.
After Nacional in futbol I support Liverpool and Napoli mainly because of Suarez and Cavani respectively and then any team which has an Uruguayan player in it.
Besides futbol I like Minnesota Timberwolves since the post-KG era because I tend to like to cheer for the underdog I guess and because I liked the logo and jerseys.
jWILL253 on May 1, 2012 at 02:55 PM.
That cat doing the sneak-up assault was awesome, lol.

QOTD:

1. Seattle Seahawks. I didn't seriously start watching football until about 2004. The first thing I remember seeing was Shaun Alexander ripping off a large run. From then on, I was a fan.

2. Seattle Sonics. www.sonicsgate.org

3. Seattle Mariners, but the more they keep loding, the less of a fan I am. I mean, how can you continue to be a fan of a team that's been in rebuilding mode for 8 STRAIGHT YEARS???

4. Seattle Sounders FC. From the very first inaugural year, they've been one of the best teams in MLS...
Kentucky_Wildcat23 on May 1, 2012 at 02:43 PM.
NFL- Steelers (Family Team)
MLB- Redsox (Fell in love with them at a young age)
NBA- LeBron James (Never had a real favorite team. Just wherever LeBron is playing)
NHL- Penguins (Family team)
College- Kentucky Wildcats (Got a jersey when I was 10 and have been a fan ever since)
scottyo60 on May 1, 2012 at 02:09 PM.
QOTD:
College and #1 overall Marshall. Grew up with season tickets and never missed games.
NFL: Raiders, love the history.
MLB: Cubs, grew up watching WGN on long summers in WV
NBA: Celtics... Followed Garnett and my dad has always been a big Celtic fan.
NHL: Devils! No real reason

So glad to see other stuff back.
Never mind I'm dumb and didn't read the last sentance.
When can you talk about Fifa 13 and the actual content of your trip?
davefmurray on May 1, 2012 at 01:59 PM.
Favorite Teams:

NFL: Colts, Bucs
NBA: Magic
NHL: Lightning
NCAA: Gators
MLB: Rays
EPL: Arsenal

I'm a Florida boy from Indianapolis. I was a Colts fan from way early and I've stuck with them.
Steve_OS on May 1, 2012 at 01:38 PM.
Glad you guys enjoy the return. It will once again be a staple for your morning.
jmik58 on May 1, 2012 at 01:38 PM.
Oh... I forgot to add...

Orlando Magic - I was a big fan of the Penny Hardaway and Shaq days
jmik58 on May 1, 2012 at 01:38 PM.
I'm also one who religiously visited OS for Steve's daily "Other Stuff"...very happy you're back at it.

QOTD:

Kansas City Chiefs - I grew up in northern Missouri and the Chiefs were a force in the 90's...oh and some guy named Derrick Thomas (the reason I put 58 in my username)

St. Louis Cardinals - Growing up in Missouri plus a poor Royals team. (As a side note I also have been partial to the Braves but have lost interest since Chipper is the only guy left from the great teams of the 90's. They were on TBS every day and they were awesome. I''ll always have a soft spot for Atlanta)

St. Louis Blues - because I have to choose someone, might as well go local again.

Iowa Hawkeyes football - I'm a huge college football fan and I don't care that much about other sports at the collegiate level, but Ferentz and his staff have always run a program that appeals to my midwestern roots.
JohnDoe8865 on May 1, 2012 at 01:23 PM.
It's freakin great to see the "Other Stuff" back on the OS Main Page Steve!

QOTD:

NFL - Carolina Panthers
NBA - Charlotte Bobcats (soon the Hornets again I hope)
MLB - Cincinnati Reds & Baltimore Orioles
NCAA Basketball - Wake Forest
NCAA Football - Appalachian State and the service academies
Blaze125 on May 1, 2012 at 12:43 PM.
Loved the brain farts article. The most interesting was the phantom vibrations from your phone, I hate when that happens and it's nice to know why it does now. The Splinter Cell cat was awesome too.

QOTD:
NFL - Detroit Lions, hometown team
MLB - Detroit Tigers, hometown team
NBA - Detroit Pistons, hometown team
NHL - Toronto Maple Leafs, My Dad was a fan of them and I didn't really like the Red Wings growing up, so they're my team now.
College Football & Basketball - Michigan State (Liked them better than Michigan), Western Michigan (Where I go to school)
DustinT on May 1, 2012 at 12:31 PM.
I won't lie, I'm glad you're doing this again
Timmy458 on May 1, 2012 at 12:15 PM.
Glad to have this back.

QOTD: Big fan of all the University of Oregon teams.
Mariners ever since the mid 90's.
Spurs and Blazers for the NBA, been a fan of the Blazers for life and been a Spurs fan ever since they drafted Tim Duncan, always liked the way he played the game.
BurghFan on May 1, 2012 at 11:48 AM.
I like the brain farts article.

QOTD: You need look no further than my username and forum avatar. I've lived in Pitsburgh my whole life and am a diehard fan of all of my hometown teams. As for the NBA, I don't follow it much but I consider myself a Bulls fan probably partly because of MJ and partly because of their red and black unis (red is my favorite color).

FOR YEARS THE DAILY OTHER STUFF WAS MY FAVORITE PARTY OF OPERATION SPORTS!! SO VERY THANKFUL YOU HAVE BROUGHT THIS BACK!!
JBkiLLa25 on May 1, 2012 at 10:40 AM.
QOTD: Denver Broncos bc in 1995 they changed there logo and as a lido thought it looked cool and then they won two straight super bowls.

New York Yankees bc of Derek Jeter. Always have liked the Yankees.

L.A. Clippers bc of Blake griffin and then CP3 came over and made it even better.

Dallas Stars bc I have to haw a team from the state I was born and live in haha.
Steve_OS on May 1, 2012 at 10:34 AM.
Hey gg, I'm with you on the FSU chant. Love college sports, but don't really have a favorite team, just pull for the upset and 4 way ties at the end of the season! Would love to see 4 undefeated teams at the end of a season, just to put more pressure for a playoff system.
ggsimmonds on May 1, 2012 at 10:25 AM.
The cat sleeping on the grill was awesome. Cats will make themselves comfortable in any spot.
QoTD
Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Wizards= hometown teams. wish Baltimore had an NBA team
Florida State Seminoles= In many ways they originally got me into sports. As a young child I would watch Seminole football games and think the war chant was just so awesome. I may not have understood the game but 80000 people doing the war chant was the coolest thing I ever saw.
PantherBeast_OS on May 1, 2012 at 10:18 AM.
Steveo glad you can spend more with your OSers and getting know us all. Glad to you are enjoying your full time job on here.
Steve_OS on May 1, 2012 at 10:16 AM.
Ya elTodd, that video had me in tears.

Boom, the Knicks played so well w/ Lin in the lineup, but I agree, Melo and Stat have no chemistry. Doubt they would win the series with or without him, it's unfortunate Lin was injured. Definitely would have been an intriguing match-up.
boomhauertjs on May 1, 2012 at 10:14 AM.
Glad you're back to doing the daily links Steve and really happy for you that you're able to make OS your full-time gig.
I'm wondering if the Knicks might be better off without Amare since it's pretty obvious he and Carmelo have zero chemistry on the court.

QoTD:
Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavs - Thanks Dad. I look forward to passing on the curse to my 3-month old son.
Dayton Flyers - Proud alum.
elTodd on May 1, 2012 at 10:10 AM.
The "Let Grandma Rest in Peace" video was hilarious. Made my day.
J-Unit40 on May 1, 2012 at 08:05 AM.
Great news Steve! Congratulations! When I first read the headline, Ithought you were leaving.

I enjoyed your story. OS has come a long way over the years.. My brother and I used to keep stats in a notebook too on Tecmo Bowl...memories.
this kid just reworded evrything i said then said he didnt agree with me WTF? lmao very strange
jersez on May 1, 2012 at 02:15 AM.
It's not just Lebron, any high basketball IQ player knows how to flop. Steve Nash, Kobe, Durant, Pierce and the real king of flopping Dirk. Yes the NBA today is more offensive oriented and I think it is hurting the game. Players aren't as skilled as they were back in the "golden era", players are too friendly with one another and games are won and lost with free throws. What can you say about the refs, I mean they miss calls, they aren't like the old refs, they knew that it wasn't personal and wasn't so fast to fire a "T" at someone. But I have to say this defense requires more skill than ever, since the hand checking rule basically allowed a poor defender look great. So it works both ways some guys would probably be out the league if it wasn't for hand checking. And some players today are thrieving with the no hand checking. D.rose would not get the rim as easily as he does, Westbrook, and Rondo for sure, he might not be in the league if hand checking was still legal. The defensive 3 seconds rule isn't ridicules, coaches should be able to teach their players proper rotations, the zone is basically the same thing, its cheap and hides players that can't play defense. I just completely disagree with the rest of your statements but hey to each his own.
rockchisler on May 1, 2012 at 01:11 AM.
That's whats up Steve....
Yes, God I hate it with a passion. Almost as much as I hate how easily some technical fouls are called at times and how refs favor the superstars. If they're so good, should they need you to help them?
I hate a lot of the rules too. DEFENSIVE 3 seconds? That's ridiculous. If you're a pro ball player and you have a pro coach, you should be able to find a way to score no matter what. I had to adjust my game in high school when we played against a big shot blocker, why is the game easier for pros?
I love the NBA but a lot about it annoys me as well, I could go on a huge rant myself, but I won't bore you with that. But if they keep making the NBA and NFL as soft as soccer, they are going to lose A LOT of fans...

That is great news, congratulations! Ive been an avid reader of the website for half a decade now and im looking forward to many more good times on OS. On a side note, its cool to see how OS looked in the past
acreyman on April 30, 2012 at 09:48 PM.
Awesome! And with the rumors of the next-gen consoles going new games only, this site will become even more important. Reviews will be the only guage we can use before we buy the game since rentals will cease to exist, and buying a game and trading it in because its crap will not be an option in the future. Glad to hear the news man! Sounds like we are really going to need this site more than ever soon.
nolesfan3 on April 30, 2012 at 07:41 PM.
Very awesome Steve. I don't post a lot, but I come here everyday to see what is going on in the world of sports gaming, and I appreciate all the hard work you and the rest of the OS members do. Congratulations on landing a dream job, and look forward to your many more years of success.
HARTSTOPPER on April 30, 2012 at 07:02 PM.
Congrats big guy. The work you guys do on a daily basis with your non biased views on sports games is what kept me coming back. I used to frequent sites like www.gamespot.com to get all of my reviews until I found OS. Now, with writers, gamers, and developers who all have the same interests as I do, I no longer need to go to other sites. I get all of my news here, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

A HUGE HUGE HUGE Thanks to you and your crew for providing those of us who love our sports games an opportunity to talk, gripe, complain and compliment sports games of our time.
