Madden 15 is all about thinking running first, passing second, which is why it’s incredibly important to make sure you are giving your runners the best opportunity to succeed. In our latest in Madden Tips, we’re going to show you a method to make those Wildcat runs all the more dangerous.
You may not realize it, but you can turn your Power runs from the Wildcat into dangerous option plays, simply by clicking a button. With this technique, you can maximize your efficiency when running the ball, and make it much more challenging for the defense to key in on you running lanes. It’s one of the more fun tips we’ve been using in recent days.

Madden 15 tips don’t always have to be so difficult. In our latest technique, we show you how you can stifle those pesky Mesh concepts that are running rampant online, by making one easy adjustment before the snap.
The Mesh concept is brutally effective at punishing players that like to play man coverage, but it’s also pretty darn good against most zones, too. However, there is hope! With a little bit of ingenuity we’ve discovered a fairly universal technique for defenses with four-down linemen that will slow down the effectiveness of the Mesh, if not shut it down entirely.

It’s that time of the season where players are finally starting to get used to the changes made in the new Madden NFL 15 game, which means now is a great time to start learning the best technique with the most basic of hot routes: The smoke screen.
The smoke screen was added back in Madden 25, however this is the season that I think it will really shine, and I explain why in the second edition of our Madden 15 Minute Tips. In Minute Tips, we try to bring you the quick and dirty advice you want in as close to a minute as we can manage. While these aren’t the in-depth strategies you’ve come to know us for, they’re still quite useful, especially the Green Screen.

The 97th episode of the Press Row Podcast is a deep dive with three of the creative forces behind Madden NFL 15. Host Rich Grisham goes in depth with Creative Director Mike Young, Senior Designer Josh Looman, and “Ratings Czar” Donny Moore about the approach to design that each of them take for their specific responsibilities. Among other things, Young discusses the overall vision of the Madden franchise and how this year’s version came together, Looman details the challenges and surprises behind Connected Franchise Mode, and Moore describes how the ratings process has evolved over the years. It’s an interesting view into how a game as huge as Madden NFL 15 gets made. Enjoy the show!

Friend of OS and Madden video creator extraordinaire Jake Berger, checks in again today with a video on how defenders fail to fully utilize the two-gap method to react to the ball in Madden NFL 15. Because defensive linemen still don't seem to be able to be responsible for more than a single gap, odd man fronts seem to be at a disadvantage against the run. We look at the footage available to us (granted, not the ideal examples) and break it all down. Check out the video and offer your thoughts on how you have successfully run a three man front in Madden to compensate for a handicapped DL.
Be sure to subscribe to Jake on YouTube. And don't forget to follow him on Twitter.
Official Video Description: Welcome to the SECOND EPISODE of my Madden 101 series. Today, we take a look at 2 gap defenders; how they are programmed in Madden, and how they operate in real life.

There is no true right or wrong way to fill out your coaching skills. Some of you will want game management if you have a high ranked coach. Some will start at the bottom of the skill tree and work your way up. This is a mini-guide on the Recruiting Tree only from level 1. This is not a Game Management guide.

This is a guest post from forum user JLoco11. Be sure to check him out on his arena page here on OS.
I did quite a bit of testing this weekend with recruiting and the skill tree to get an idea of how things will work when I do my normal dynasty (after the rosters are completed). I simmed multiple first seasons of dynasty with different level teams, progression rates and recruiting methods and gained a decent amount of knowledge in doing so.
Here’s a very early guide for those interested in some recruiting tips. As your skill tree changes, so will your need to choose different recruiting tactics.

Editors Note: This is a guest post from Josh Schulze. a longtime fan of NBA 2K and member of Operation Sports. You can find Josh on Twitter @TheFakeJoshS or you can connect with Josh via his blog.
NBA 2K13, in some ways, is the most superior sports simulation on the market. But when I start up a game with the hopes of enjoying a realistic basketball simulation, I’m inevitably grounded by a few shortcomings within the game which I believe need to be addressed in the future.
And while I can paint with a much wider brush to critique this game, I’ll narrow this down to some attributes for NBA 2K which will revolutionize the series.
