The question with UFC Undisputed 3 is: has the extended development time been worth the wait? In the areas where it really counts, I can safely say that it has. It's still a shame that the series continues to have some clunky menus, long load times and spotty online servers, but the gameplay has been refined, PRIDE mode is a ton of fun, the presentation is notably improved, and the roster of fighters — and weight classes — continues to grow.
In short, UFC Undisputed is a big step up in quality for the series.

Tennis, despite its limited popularity in America, is one of the only sports gaming genres where gamers have several choices available. The Top Spin series has been the standard in tennis gaming, but Virtua Tennis also has its share of fans. Now, EA has entered the fray on all three major consoles with Grand Slam Tennis 2. Does EA’s newest entry into tennis gaming set a new standard for the genre?

It’s challenging to evaluate Grand Slam Tennis 2’s gameplay, because it’s a completely different experience depending on what difficulty level you select. On the highest levels, the CPU almost never misses a shot. On the lowest levels, the CPU players trip all over themselves trying to get to the ball and move like slugs. But in between those extremes, there’s a decent game of tennis.

Today is National Signing Day, the first day that high school seniors can sign a letter of intent indicating where they plan to play college football. For years, the NCAA Football series has sold well and enjoyed great reviews.
But this year, it feels like the tides of public opinion have shifted, and a series that once seemed immune to criticism is now subject to a growing wave of discontent. It doesn’t take more than 5 minutes in the OS forums to see that dedicated sports gamers have a whole laundry list of complaints and suggestions.
In this article, I discuss five things that the NCAA Football 13 team could do to restore gamers’ faith in the series.

This holiday season, tons of kids and adults alike received shiny new Kinects. The Kinect itself is truly an impressive piece of technology, but Kinect games to date aren’t haven't exactly been synonymous with quality. Unfortunately, despite some interesting ideas, Winter Stars doesn’t break that trend.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Heisman Trophy Trust awarded the 75th Heisman Trophy to Robert Griffin III of Baylor. In this article, I take a look at the five Heisman finalists’ real-life performance (as well as one player who remained in the Heisman picture until late in the season), as well as their virtual doppelgangers in NCAA Football 12. I’ll assess their case for college football’s highest individual honor, as well as their case for being considered the best virtual player in NCAA 12. I simulate a season of NCAA 12and track the players’ progress against their real-life stats, and close by offering my vote for the most dominant virtual player.

In the NCAA series, not all poorly rated teams are created equal. In an article from last month, I talked about some teams that are set up well for a building or rebuilding project. These are not those teams. Instead, the teams on this list feature an often shocking lack of talent and a tremendous uphill battle for relevance ahead. Looking for a challenge? Take one of these teams for a spin.

OS Staff Writers, by now you have all heard the news about the fourth NCAA title update not including a fix for player tendencies. To some this is an absolutely huge deal and to others it seems as if they are perfectly content with the game as-is. But let's go beyond that; let's discuss whether the string of bugs this year, plus the lack of any patchable resolution will be detrimental to NCAA 13, or will the blunders of NCAA Football 12 be forgotten by many next July?

Although it can be fun to start a dynasty with a powerhouse program and try to maintain their dominance, it’s also satisfying to take a lower-level team and build them into a national contender.
I’ve chosen some two- and three-star programs that I think are well suited for a rebuilding project. This list includes three major conference programs that have seen better days, as well as two mid-majors on the rise. The player names in this article are based on Fairdale Kings’ rosters, with no edits made to the player ratings. I’ve also included each player’s number and overall rating in case you’re not playing with named rosters.

Everybody loves a powerhouse team in the NCAA Football series, but after a few consecutive national championships doesn't it get a little old?
The nation's top schools start each recruiting cycle with a bevy of talent that wants to enroll. Plus with nothing but high-quality pitches, it's not too much trouble for elite programs to consistently sign five-star prospects. Building a great roster out of nothing, though, can be a real challenge. The path from one-star to six-star program is long, and it's a true test for the NCAA Football dynasty player. I've compiled a set of tips for anyone just starting out in their attempt to build, or rebuild, a program.
