#1 Stanford University

Palo Alto, California might be one of the more intriguing places to build a college football dynasty. Stanford’s recruiting appeal feeds off the school’s historic academic excellence and prestige. Your job is to sustain their recent success, and replace the highest rated quarterback prospect in the last 15 years.

Located in beautiful Northern California, this is an easy pitch to four-star athletes who aren’t getting the scholarship offers from Alabama, LSU, and other dominant top ten programs. The academics may limit your recruiting field, but these athletes will be worth the effort, arriving to campus with high football I.Q. that’s receptive to complex coaching schemes. The program has a pro-style offense in place as it is, and it will be on you to expand that philosophy. Players who come through the program will most likely stay for the full four years to maximize their overall skill ratings, and also get their degree from a top university at the same time. After four years, players will be pro ready, only building into the prestige and allure of this great university.

Blue chip athletes will be sporting the cardinal red soon into your dynasty, and more importantly, top tier quarterbacks will be targeting Silicon Valley from the start. Competing in the Pac 12, Stanford will be without question in a position to compete for BCS Championship bids on a yearly basis.

University of North Carolina

The North Carolina Tar Heels represent a fascinating dynasty destination. The Heels have a proven fan base in both basketball and baseball, with both teams nationally ranked on an annual basis. Delivering an ACC Championship in football will have Chapel Hill painted in Carolina Blue in early August before hoops season begins.

North Carolina has been competitive in the ACC – a conference that is wide open for the taking. With great competition in Virginia Tech, Miami and Florida State, North Carolina will have a very solid strength of schedule. A dominant run in the ACC can land you in the BCS Championship.

Chapel Hill has renovated the stadium in the past few seasons to bring life to the campus in the autumn season. As head coach, the school already has shown the capability to bring in the brightest and most talented athletes in the country for basketball. All you need is to convert the star power forward to defensive end or tight end and recruit those five-star athletes over to football, i.e. Julius Peppers and Jimmy Graham (UMiami). Recruiting will be difficult, but prestige, academics and NFL-potential should help you land talent found on the Atlantic Coast.

This team starts and ends with their front seven and ball-controlled offense. It’s a fundamental scheme in place that has the potential to win and take the Carolina Blue faithful to a new level.

When May and June hit, the football fan is faced with a big problem: no football. With the draft over, OTAs barely around and Madden and NCAA still months away, the fan needs something to bide time with. But why force them to ignore their passion? Why not give them football in the summer with a new Arena Football game?

The Arena Football League is almost a video-game football product in itself. It’s as if the sport mixed flag football with Playstation 2 Madden and put two top-ten ranked players behind the controls. Translating this fan-driven, turbocharged offensive league should occur naturally.

So how do we grow the league into the monster that Madden has become? I want to put that in the gamer’s hands. In addition to the wall-crashing action on the field, managing the business to reach new levels would create a fun challenge to gamers. Match this focus with an owner mode and you have the dream of playing commissioner of a major sport in the U.S.

#3 University of California Los Angeles

The UCLA Bruins have to fight for recognition in a city where USC has dominated the headlines over the last decade. Much like the other teams on our list, the Bruins run a balanced offense and have all of Southern California as a fan base to conquer. It will be a challenge.

Playing in the Rose Bowl extends immediate prestige to your recruiting class pitches. Your visits with top high school athletes will have to instill a belief in these kids that they are the foundation to build the new dynasty.

With a long, athletic quarterback with some quality speed ratings at the helm for the next three seasons, it’s easy to see why this destination is so attractive. The 6’4’’ freshman quarterback has the potential to be something special. A quick-hitting west coast offense looks to be the offense of choice based on the Bruins spring game, so scoring shouldn’t be an issue for this squad, and so the focus should be on your defensive schemes.

Your dynasty begins with the historic stadium that can be a tremendous home field advantage. It ends with what you build to be left on the Rose Bowl grass.

The University of Oregon Ducks have dominated the plush green landscapes of the Pacific Northwest in recent years. With private endowments coming from Phil Knight of Nike, the Ducks present free agent coaches plenty of incentives to build a dynasty under the rooftops of the nation’s top facilities.

Nike has influenced the appeal of the University of Oregon, creating a tradition rich program where there used to be nothing of the sort. Players who wish to dawn the forest green and yellow will be training with the best training staffs while sporting the latest gear and technology that the athletics company has to offer, at least presumably given the new NCAA Football dynasty program ratings.

The Ducks have progressed the game of college football (and even the NFL) through their no-huddle oriented schemes. They are a pillar for the sport in the Pacific Northwest and so the recruiting pool will be all yours. Eugene is an intriguing location to build your empire. The unlimited resources, major sponsorships, and a rabid fan base to fill your stadium that seats 60,000 and reaches 120 decibels; it all combines to create the ultimate home-field advantage.

The Rose Bowl Champions are reloaded and ready to strike with two quality underclassman athletes at quarterback on the roster in Marcus Mariota and Bryan Bennett still battling for depth chart supremacy. Kenjon Barner anchors the Ducks backfield and should be assuming the role of the recently departed LaMichael James. Build this team's defense and National Championship aspirations will be realistic, year in and year out.

Boise State University

The Boise State Broncos play on blue turf, just had two first-round picks in the NFL draft and are about to join a more lucrative (laugh, you're allowed) conference known as the Big East.

If that's not interesting enough, the Bronco’s offense was ranked top five in the nation in 2011. Taking over this team will present its challenges, namely finding blue-chip athletes that are willing to come play for a less prestigious school in a remote location in the mountains out west. But that’s why you take on this underdog head coaching job. Plus, the fact that they lost their starting quarterback, running back and middle linebacker makes the challenge a little higher.

Pumping out a couple NFL ready players adds to the appeal to come play for this very sound football squad. All that’s needed is a couple more notable victories over top competition and recruiting will get a boost in scholarships and appeal.

Finding the right guys to plug into your system shouldn’t be difficult since the foundation is there, pitching high school recruits on your pro-style offense. Turning your three-star and four-star athletes into champions will take some time, which means they will most likely stay for four years – ample time to establish your new dynasty.

When the ball is in flight in any Tiger Woods game, I take a minute to admire the scenery. The ball trajectory climbs in altitude, and for a brief minute playing Pebble Beach almost seems attainable. The sounds of the waves crash against the coastline and you can hear the wind as it cuts across the fairways.

This is what it would be like.

Adding in the motion controls and a well-played shot places me further into the dream of playing this alluring course. The hiccups to the Move controls bring me back to reality moments later, but it speaks volumes to be able to capture this sense of immersion into the game's environments.

I attempt to play golf. And so when I turned on Tiger 13 on the Playstation Move, I approached the gameplay as if I were playing a real 18. I placed a golf ball on the floor for my target, cleared space in the room, and started working on my swing.

Tiger on Playstation Move will create some amazing moments rewarding a great swing, but the game ultimately falls short as a true simulator and should be played the way it was created – as a video game.

To some, the term “classic vinyl” cues up memories of All-American classic rock. For basketball purists, classic vinyl delivers the imagery of records spinning original music of the hip-hop genre. Ryan Hunt, 2K Sports Brand Manager, and Chris Snyder, Senior Director of Marketing, are two of those basketball purists, etched deep within the culture and the music around the sport.

Hunt and Snyder are the minds behind our basketball gaming greatness. Their work inspires memorable NBA 2K trailers featuring tracks with the likes of Kanye West, successfully marrying music and sport in gaming.

The Gamecube's WWE Day of Reckoning 2 still gives gamers a fighting engine that is one of the most balanced simulation fighters ever created. The gameplay elements present have been unsurpassed since the game’s inception in 2006; the game still remains a deep wrestling experience, with wrinkles of simulation depth in every aspect of its build.

WWE DoR2 easily stands alongside games such as Fight Night Champion, EA Sports MMA and UFC Undisputed: 2011. Read more to see why through the damage system employed, and also the amount of strategy a deep move list can bring to the table. All of these gameplay pieces can be built into today’s games for a deeper simulation experience.
