Wednesday at noon, Canadian developer WishboneX Creations launched its Kickstarter campaign for Pro Wrestling X. Supporters have until December 9, 2012 to raise the $75,000 project goal.
A $15 pledge secures a downloadable copy of the game once it's released, plus a spot in the game credits. Further incentives like private beta access and early access to the original source code are being offered at higher pledge levels.

Another NHL 13 tuner update has been released (1.03), details below.

Notes:
EASHL Only
- Increased AI goalie glove and stick high ratings
- Slightly lowered wrist shot accuracy
- Increased AI goalie rebound control
- Decreased AI ability to make long stretch passes when Users were calling for a pass.
Reverted the previous tuner change that fixed the issue where players were only starting their BAP shift at a faceoff since it raised the chance of a crash. We are continuing to look for an alternate fix for how to allow Users to start shifts mid play.

After more than six years in development, Pro Wrestling X is very close to making its PC debut. All the AKI-inspired wrestling game needs is enough virtual "likes" on Valve's new Steam Greenlight service, and Pro Wrestling X will finally see a public release.With the most recent gameplay footage being over three years old, Canadian developer WishboneX Creations has put together a new promotional video to celebrate their inclusion in the Steam Greenlight promotion:

If you've taken the newly released Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD online, you might be wondering how some people are posting scores in the millions while the majority of players are still struggling to reach six-digit figures.
The simple answer is the manual. Introduced in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, the manual allows skaters to continue their trick combo onto flat surfaces by simply popping wheelie after wheelie.

Commissioner Gary Bettman and the NHL owners confirmed Thursday that the league is prepared to enter a lockout if a new collective bargaining agreement isn't reached by September 15, 2012.
With EA Sports' NHL 13 hitting stores September 11, 2012, it is becoming extremely likely that the sole surviving NHL video game franchise could release during a league-wide work stoppage which on the surface seems an exceedingly bad idea.
Could this lockout impact the sales of NHL 13? To decide, let's review a few recent league lockouts and see how their video game equivalents fared during those years.

Xbox Rewards members who spend at least 1,600 points on sports-related items during August will receive 240 points back.
For a full list of all eligible marketplace items, consult the the official Xbox forums. Please note that many eligible titles no longer feature online support. EA Sports keeps a running list of all recently released games that no longer support online play. For games from other publishers, you may have to look up the title individually to see if it still functions online.
Sports fans can earn an additional 20 free Microsoft points this month by completing the Xbox Rewards survey, which contains eight or fewer questions on topics like, "How do feel about motion controls in sports games?"
Unfortunately, the newly released Operation Sports Avatar Items do not count towards the promotion.

To coincide with the opening of NFL training camps, RateSports has created an updated 32-team NFL roster for the Xbox 360 version of Backbreaker. Football fans can download the roster at ratesports.net, which includes updated team logos, new uniforms, and redone player rosters.

In March, Operation Sports held a staff roundtable discussing which baseball games we had played for a full 162 game season.
At the time, I had only accomplished the feat in one game: Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball for the Super Nintendo.
A few weeks ago, I added a second game to my list: MLB Bobblehead Pros for the Xbox 360.
Here are some aspects, both good and bad, that stand out as I look back on my season with the Milwaukee Brewers in Konami's latest Power Pros game.

Playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is like listening to a really bad cover of a classic song.
The original lyrics are intact, though not delivered with the same force or inflection; the melodies are discernible, though many are well out-of-tune; the singer's voice and the band's instrument tones are modernized and overproduced in the worst way.
Essentially, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD is the video game equivalent of watching Miley Cyrus sing Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
