Why the Cubs will break their streak...
Posted on November 5, 2011 at 01:56 PM.
For over 100 plus years the Cubs have been hampered by a lingering "injury". They have won and choked or just been flat out awful. They have given hope and taken it away. Well, once again they have given hope to the faithful fans of Wrigley and this time it won't disappoint.

This Cubs maybe made the biggest move in Franchise history this offseason by signing Theo Epstein. Epstein has already made an impact convincing GM's and Assistant GM's to agree to come work under him. Epstein is reshaping the Front Office that has killed the Cubs for many years.

The Cubs fans immediately starting paying attention to news everyday hoping for that huge signing. Almost every day you hear of a top exec that is coming the Chi Town to help Theo and his dream office out. Many analysts are already saying this is a "dream team" in terms of the front office. Will it pay off?

The simple answer is yes. Theo has done it before and Chicago has the resources to make it happen. They have the owner to make it happen, as he is proving finally. They have the young talent to make it happen. They have the scouting personal now to make it happen. They have the fans to make it happen.

Chicago fans are haunted by the Steven Bartman experience. That will soon be long forgotten. Once Theo can get his team in place, get his players in place, it's going to be a very special thing. I don't expect Theo to sign Prince or Albert. I expect him to build a foundation. He will bring in veteran players to teach the young players how to act on and off the field. He won't put up with Aramis Ramirez type players. He will most likely resign Pena, because he is a great clubhouse guy. Remember what he did with Boston?

You remember...he changed them. He changed their whole attitude, their mentality, and their whole franchise. He not only made them a league powerhouse for years to come, but he also broke a huge streak in Boston. What is to say he won't do it in Chicago with all his old buddies? Nothing. Given the time, and the patience, he will succeed.

Chicago fans be patient. This is no quick fix. This is a process. Don't expect 90 wins, but don't be surprised if it happens. Don't expect playoffs next year, but don't be surprised if it happens. Theo can work magic. Who is to think Chicago might not be the Boston Red Sox powerhouse in 5 years?

Chicago fans rejoice. This is a great time for all of us. Not only are we on the verge of finally doing something special, but we have a guy that can make it happen. Were counting on you Theo, don't disappoint us. We know you won't!
