Florida State @ #1 Notre Dame
Game recap
This was a strong showing for the #1 team in the nation. Only turnover was by our back up running back. If we can continue to play like this we should be set up for back to back trips to the conference title game and hopefully playoffs. A lot of football still to played to see how it all shakes out. Next week the Irish will take on Oregon a team who will be coming off a win vs #10 Kansas State.

Week 3 Recap
Week 4 Preview
Gameday is headed to Tuscaloosa! For the SEC showdown between #7 Cowboys vs #9 Alabama. Both teams losing at home last week so they will be looking to bounce back. We will look at this deeper on the OSU episode.
Also in the SEC The now #11 Tar Heels get a chance to knock off #2 in the nation two weeks in a row when Iowa State comes to Chapel Hill. A win for North Carolina could catapult them into the top 5 in the week5 rankings.
#15 Auburn gets 2 straight weeks of facing top 5 teams on the road when the travel to Norman to take on #4 OU. I wouldnt be stunned if the Tigers bounce back and knock off the sooners.
Two more top 15 teams square off when #5 Michigan travels to #13 Clemson. With both teams strength being their Def and Offense good but not great I expect this one to be a low scoring dog fight.
Week 4 Arizona State vs Ole Miss
We had an absolute crazy game to kickoff week 4.
The rebels looked to dominate early going up 9-0 after stopped ASU on their first drive then tossing a TD. followed by a safety shortly after.
The Sun Devils would put up better offensive numbers in the second quarter but Ole Miss was able to score a TD on their first 5 drives making the score 37-21 rebels headed into the half.
Ole Miss received the second half and picked up right where they left off getting it easily across the 50 but finally we were able to at least hold them to 3. Arizona State was able to score on a huge 63 yard pass cutting the lead down to 28-40. Once again Ole Miss drove down the field but the defense tighten up and held them to another FG.
After a decent kick return the Sun devils punched in a short yardage TD to really make it a game now at 36-43 after getting the two point conversion. The follow rebels series had them easily driving once again and we couldnt stop em until late in the drive but they tack on 3 more going back up by double digits with 5min to go.
Sun Devils werent ready to quit yet scoring another short TD run with 330 to go now and some how some way we were able to force Ole Miss into a 3&out next series for their first punt of the game. Then on that punt Walter catches and makes some cuts with some key blocking too of course and he goes untouched 76 yards to the house! Giving us our first lead of the game with 1:45 to go! but Rebels had plenty of time and we hadnt stopped them from scoring but one drive. The silver lining was they needed a tuddy. They definitely had success.. converting on one 4th down, almost scoring after breaking 4 tackles on a screen and surviving a dropped easy INT by the ASU defense. Yet they were faced with another fourth down and short. Sun Devils go all out on the run and safety Harts who had a dropped INT earlier as well comes up and stuffs em behind the line with just 12 second remaining. We come on and take knee what a game!
The defense was great in the second half only allowing nine points to a team they just couldnt stop but what a comeback win for the Sun Devils in their conference opener! From down 23 and almost the entire game down by at least two scores. As well as the game winner being on a punt return & that was that teams only punt of the day. It was an awesome game and my game agreed giving it my #1 instant classic.
Arizona State will have to play even better when they match up with conference foe and currently #8 in the nation Ohio State.

#18 North Carolina @ #2 Oklahoma State
The last time these two met it was last year for the SEC championship which the cowboys won 41-38.
The Tar heels did not forget it.
This one had points early and often while one team kept scoring the other went ice cold.
The teams scored on their first 4 possessions of the game. North Carolina had two passing TDs while OSU got one short passing TD but had to settle for just 3 on the second possession. Heels up 14-10 4min till half.
North Carolina would drive down the field and score with just over a minute remaining. Pokes unable to even gain a first down and forced to punt. at half 21-10 Tar Heels up.
Cowboys had great success on the opening series scoring a TD but went for two to try to cut the lead to 3. Spencer hit his open man but it was dropped. OSU still down 16-21
North Carolina kept firing and finished off with a TD the first of what would be 28 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter including a 97 yard pick six. As the Cowboys just couldnt do anything right and North Carolina couldnt miss.. Literally. True Freshman QB Mike Neal goes 16-16 6 tuddies in a 56-23 route of the Cowboys.
Not the Cowboys best showing but North Carolina was an unstoppable force today. Both teams now sit at 1-1 in conference play & since in opposite divisions they could have a rematch for the conference title if both teams can make it back to back years.
Things only get harder next week for the Cowboys as they travel to Tuscaloosa to face an Alabama team who also lost this week to unranked Michigan State. Cowboys will need a near perfect game to pick up a huge conference win on the road.

#1 Notre Dame v #12 Auburn
We had an instant classic on our hands when these two top 15 teams squared off in south bend.
We knew it would be close but this was a fight the entire game.
Early on teams couldnt find the end zone with the first 3 scores being field goals and the Irish missing one as well putting the score 6-3 Tigers early in the 2nd quarter.
After the defense forced a punt Notre Dame took its first lead with 2:30 to go in the 1st half when Tyree was able to finish off the long drive with a 4 yd TD run.
Auburn was able to score on a Finley option just before half giving the tigers a 13-10 lead headed into the locker room.
The Irish first drive was another long one taking up half the quarter but scoring a TD on a 4 yd pass to Mayer gave us back the lead 17-13
A quick strike from Auburn on a 45 yd TD pass put the Irish in a dangerous spot to be upset especially when the very first play of the Notre Dame drive was intercepted. The defense came up huge forcing a 3&out.
We once again had to dink and dunk our way down the field and once inside red zone Buchner felt the pressure throwing his second pick of the day and this one was almost returned for 6 but the defender was tripped up at the 50 by an OL from the Irish possibly the biggest tackle of the day.
The defense came up with the biggest stop of the year on just 3 plays forcing a punt but it was a beauty and went out of bounds at the Notre Dame 4. So the Irish had 5min to go in the game & 96 yards in front of them. They were able to piece together yet another long drive & on the 14th play just outside the red zone.. You guessed it Buchner turned it over again! this time a fumble and with only 1min remaining it look like the nations longest home winning streak was coming to and end.
The Irish still having all 3 timeout never gave up & on 3&4 safety Joseph & corner Swanson combined for a tackle at the line of scrimmage and forced a punt with 50 seconds to go! Making this the new biggest stop of the year..
One last life for Notre Dame and on the first play from their own 44 Buchner throws it down the sideline and hits an open Tyree on the wheel route and he sprints into the endzone with 36 seconds left in the game! An unreal comeback from the Irish is complete after stopping a last chance hail mary from the Tigers winning 24-20 in an instant classic!
Irish remain unbeaten keeping the longest home winning streak in the nation alive and we have mainly the defense to thank with two or three huge stops to get it back for the offense. Buchner must cleanup the turnovers if we have any hope to go Back to Back national championships. But its a long season and.. winning is winning.

week 2 recap
We were able to go 2-0 in user controlled games this week. Notre Dame idle but scored the #1 ranked QB in this years recruiting class.
The defense was huge for the Sun Devils picking off Hartman twice & one going for 6 to upset #17 Wake Forest 48-35
#2 Oklahoma State overcame 2 turnover by Sanders to barely escape disaster in their SEC opener vs Arkansas 26-25.
Around the NCAA
In the ACC there was the biggest upset with unranked Purdue outscoring #3 USC 17-8 in the second half to win 38-32. The trojans fell all the way to 15th while Purdue jumped to 17th.
#15 Auburn needed overtime to take down Houston after the cougars scored with just 31 seconds left to tie it at 42-42. Houston kicked & FG but tigers answer with a 25 yd TD pass to win 48-45.
Baylor bounced back after week1 loss and beat LSU 31-24
In the Big 10
#15 Florida was able to bounce back after losing and went on the road to beat #6 Kansas State 34-17. huge win for the gators to avoid an 0-2 start. Wildcat woes pick up right were they left off from last years 1st round playoff exit. Florida just outside the top 10 #11 while Cats drop to #14
we had another unranked team pull off an upset when Tennessee went into Autzen stadium and came out victorious 28-14. Ducks drop from #16 to the last spot at #25 while Vols move in at #20.
Big 12 foes met with #8 UCLA traveling to Ole Miss but Bruins route the rebels 52-24.
Second highest ranked member of the SEC in #5 Alabama beat #21 TCU on the road 28-14. Bama into the top 4 with the win and moved to 2-0 in conference play. Frogs fall one spot out of the top 25.
NC State able to move up into the top 25 after beating #25 South Carolina 42-17. Gamecocks stay in the national ranking is over after one week. Wolfpack slide into the #24 ranking.
Week 3 preview
The # 1 ranked Irish are back on the field this week taking on #12 Auburn. I expect this game to be closer than Penn State game both teams coming in the top 15 and 1-0. Tiger will liking lean on junior RB Bigsby. This will be a good test for young Notre Dame team before kicking off conference play next week.
#2 Oklahoma State hopes to clean up their game this week when #18 North
Carolina comes to town. The tar heel defense is much more talented than the hogs. So Sanders will need to take care of the ball or it will be hard for OSU to come out on top. There is a new QB for North Carolina so that will help the young Cowboy defense who held up good enough last week.
Arizona State was unable to crack the top 25 sitting at #27 but will be idle this week so if there is any lower ranked teams lose they could sneak in. Sun Devils will be back in action next week when they open up in big 12 play vs Ole Miss.
Non user noteworthy games
ACC
#7 Oklahoma travels to Southern Cal to take on the #15 trojans. Both teams like to sling it both ranking inside the top 40 in passing offense but cant stop the pass either with both outside the top #90 in pass defense. I expect points in this one.
Big12
#10 Wisconsin travels to #6 UCLA both of this teams were the favorite to win their division so this very well could be a conference championship preview.
The battle for the Cy Hawk trophy is this weekend & #3 Iowa State hopes to move to 2-0 on the year. Even tho Iowa lost their first game.. You never know what can happen in an old fashion in state rivalry.

Arkansas @ #2 Oklahoma State
The Cowboys opened up their season with a conference match up vs Arkansas. OSU beat the razorbacks 38-12 in last years game so the pigs were out for revenge this time around.
Oklahoma State had success early driving down the field on their first possession but the drive stalled & we were forced to settle for 3.
The defense came out hot forcing a 3&out on the hogs first series.
Sanders forced a throw on the very first play & a top safety in the country Catalon was able to break in front of the pass & take it all the way to the house putting Arkansas up 7-3
We were able to answer with a long drive & finally Warren punched it in from 2 yards out. The hogs scored a short rushing TD late in the half but cowboys were able to quickly drive down and kick their 3 FG of the quarter to go up 19-14 at the half.
Arkansas came out firing and Jefferson ran from 34 yards out all the way to the end zone. They went for 2 and got it giving them their second lead of the game at 22-19.
After a OSU fumble but a big three out forced by the defense the Cowboys were able to answer & regain the lead a couple drives later now up 26-22 with 7:57 to go in the game.
The razorbacks were able to convert one 4th down on this drive but when trying to go for it again later they had a false start (going to adjust false start slider hated to see this) they were forced to settle for a FG making the game 26-25 Cowboys with 3:45 to go in the game.
Arkansas still had all three times out but Warren and the cowboys ran over the hogs. Which eventually lead to them running out the clock and avoiding a scare at home 26-25 moving OSU to 1-0 overall & in the SEC.
A fumble and INT by your QB is no recipe for wins but the Cowboys were able to get it together late and find a way to win. The defense pick up almost were it left off last year and came up big when we needed them. We will need Sanders to be better in the next game. As Oklahoma State will host currently #19 North Carolina.

#17 Wake Forest @ Arizona State
The Sun Devils took the field Saturday with their new head coach who is hoping to bring them their first football playoff birth & national title.
We expect the offense to be electric and hopefully the defense can make some stops when we need the better we play on that side of the ball will tell us just how far we can go this year.
If game 1 was any tell on how good the defense is we might be in for a treat but it didnt look that way early.
As expected this one was a shootout early both teams combining for 6 touchdowns on as many drives. The deacons had two rushing TDs of over 35 yards while Arizona State had long drives going 6-7 on 3rd down in the first half alone. The only miss on 3rd down lead to a half ending FG from the Sun Devils giving them their first lead of the game 24-21 heading into the locker room.
The offense had less success to start the second half when ASU was forced to punt & a couple plays later on 3&5 Wake QB Hartman threw what was only his second incompletion this game but this one wasnt exactly incomplete.. it was picked off by lurking ASU safety Markham & returned 54 yards all the way to the house! A huge turning point in game giving the Sun Devils a 31-21 lead with 3:54 to go in the 3rd. Wake forest was able to answer right back with a quick drive & 9 yd TD run to cap it off. The Arizona State offense was not cooling off either a 53 yd TD pass from Daniels regain the breathing room for ASU & on the very first play of the next possession Wake Forest threw their second pick of the day. The Sun devils couldnt punish the deacons too much settling for just 3 but that put them up 41-38 with 7:35 to go in the game.
After crossing the 50 & giving up a sack on 3rd down Wake Forest went for it on 4th&12 under 6min to go and the D came up with another key stop to turn them over on downs. We were able to drive down the field and toss a 26 yd pass with just 3min remaining slamming the door shut on Wake Forest going up 48-28. The deacons fought till the end scoring with 1min left but too little too late Arizona State takes down #17 Wake Forest 48-35.
The defense ended up being huge in this one with 2 INTs & one of them going to the house for 6. If they continue to play like this and the offense doesnt get in their own way this could be special season for the Sun Devils.
With a win over the #17 team in the nation and being just outside the top 25 coming into this week Id but surprised if ASU didnt receive their first national ranking this season.
Arizona State will have a bye next week but will have their conference opener vs Ole Miss the following week.

Week 1 recap
We had some ranked teams go down in week 1 all but one were to other ranked teams so not too many world stunners.
In the ACC #14 Oklahoma traveled to #2 Baylor. Sooners were able to go in to hostile territory & steal a win from the bears 35-28 in an early but key match up in the ACC. These teams are in opposite divisions so couldve been a championship preview.
Also in the ACC #3 USC got their first conference win over LSU 30-24.
In the Big 10 we know #1 Notre Dame took down Penn State on the road 35-14.
#11 Pittsburgh also secured a win over #10 Florida on the road 41-27 an early but always important division win for the panthers.
In the SEC #6 Alabama moved up 1 spot in the polls after beating #23 Utah on the road. A strong first half gave the tide the lead and they were able to hold on after a 3rd quarter rally from the Utes to win 35-24.
The biggest upset of week one was a rivalry game between #8 North Carolina @ South Carolina. This was a defensive struggle with what would end up being the game winning FG going through the uprights with 6min remaining in the 3rd. The gamecocks were slightly better in this one 17-14 final. Tar heels fall to #19.
Week 2 preview
The Irish will likely remain #1 being idle this week I dont see them getting jumped this early in the year.
Oklahoma State moved up to #2 in the polls after the Baylor lost last week.
The will open their season at home with SEC foe Arkansas. A team who they beat last year 38-12 so will be looking for similar results in this one. All eyes will be on the defense to see who can replace all the players who left last season dominating D. The offense should be even better with returning almost all the weapons.
Arizona State will take on #17 Wake Forest in a non conference game. This is our first game as head coach and hope to impress the home fans. If we can pull off the upset I expect the Sun Devils to crack the top 25 going into week 3.
non user noteworthy games
Game day is traveling to Fort Worth TX for the #5 Alabama @ #21 TCU game should be an exciting game with TCU QB Duggan returning and being one of the most improved players in all of the country. I still expect the tide to roll to a win frogs hopefully can keep it close.
#15 Florida gets yet another ranked opponent this week when they go to #6 Kansas State. Wildcats were #1 all year but were bounced in round 1 to the 8 seed in last years playoff. This is their first chance to get that nasty taste out of their mouths & I Would be surprised if Florida is not 0-2 after this one.
One of the publics favorite teams this year in #8 UCLA take this field for the first time they will face Ole Miss in a Big 12 conference game.
Two Big 10 teams match up in Eugene OR as the Vols will take on the #16 ducks. Oregon should win but Tennessee already 1-0 on the year with a week 1 win over Mizzou 35-23 in their conference opener.
Newly ranked #25 South Carolina host North Carolina State.. would not be shocked if wolfpack pull off the "upset" here.

Week 1 is here!
With Arizona St & Oklahoma St on a bye this week.
#1 Notre Dame @ Penn State was our only match up to be played.
The Irish defense picked up were it left off last year & on the second play of the game the D forced a fumble & recovered just outside of Penn State 20 yard line.
After two short runs & incompletion the Irish had to settle for 3.
Penn state had more success on their second drive but ended in a missed FG but they got the ball back the very next play with Buchner throwing his first INT on the season.
The Nittany Lions then ran over the Irish breaking 4 tackles on a 26 yd TD run giving them their first lead. It was 3-7 PennSt with 3min left in the 1stq.
The first half continued with the back and forth action & the lead changing hands 3 more times.
The Irish closed out the first half up 20-14.
To start the second half the Irish were able to put together a long drive & finally scored a TD on a 5 yard pass to Mayer. We went for 2 and got it putting us up 28-14.
The defense forced a 3 & out from Penn State on their next possession.
Looking to take complete control of the game the Irish go deep to Lenzy for 50 yards & a couple plays later score Diggs powered his way in from 4 yards out giving Notre Dame a 35-14.
The defense was able to recover a fumble & turn penn state over on downs in the redzone in 4th. Which lead to Notre Dame icing the game away and winning 35-14.
A slow start from the Irish was expected first game with new QB and on the road. The young defense held up better than expected vs a good Penn State squad. Overall solid game from the #1 team in the country.
The Irish have a bye in week2 before taking on a ranked Auburn team at home.

Decided to finish year one with few updates & wait for year 2 to do weekly updates on the Power4 CFB Revamped Dynasty.
Power 4 Year 1 RECAP
The Irish were able to go undefeated at 16-0 and dominated their way through Big10 & the playoffs. Kyren Williams took home the Heisman trophy as he finished up his college career & is projected 2nd round draft pick. The Irish lost 7 players to the draft & 16 players total. Cam Hart leading INT getter this year for Irish with 10 a new school record & Jarret Patterson Remington award winner were the only 2 underclassmen that declared. Losing key players on both sides of the ball it will be hard for Notre Dame to repeat as champion but with a top 5 recruiting class & promising young talent they figure to still be in the playoff picture.
The Cowboys finished 12-4 but with a SEC championship & finished runner up overall on the year after winning their first two games in the playoff before losing to Notre Dame 7-37 in the finals. The Cowboys lose 20 players 9 of those entering the draft with only 1 being an underclassmen. Oklahoma State loses quite a bit of their dominating D but returning backfield & leading wide receiver hopes are high for back to back trips to the playoffs.
Elsewhere around the league. Kansas State was 13-0 & headed into the playoff as the #1 seed but lost their 1st round game to #8 seed Baylor 28-49 cutting their season short. They will be returning a lot of players so will hope for a similar regular season showing & hope for a better playoff should they make it.
Nevada was the winner of the Pac12 & earned the spot in the playoff but were dominated by Oklahoma State 52-9 so their Cinderella story ended before it even got started. They still got moved up into regular CFP territory & will now compete in the Big10. Boston College was downgraded to the Pac12 after going 0-11 on the year.
Oklahoma & Auburn were first teams left out of the playoffs so they will be on a mission to try & win a few more games next year in order to punch their ticket.
BYU & SMU were also downgraded to the Pac12 after struggling last year.
They were replaced with Virginia Tech & Georgia Tech.
It will be interesting to see who makes the playoffs next year & what teams can fight their way out of the lower tier conferences & increase their playoff chances!
How playoff was seeded

5- Pac12 champ

We had a great game on our hands in Jerry World. The Pokes lose by 4 to the dawgs. They were unable to overcome turnovers this time around but the D definitely kept this game closer than it maybe should have been.
It started out with lots of scoring the teams putting up 3 TDs in the first quarter. The first big stop by OSU was late in the first half around mid field with 2min remaining. After the D forced the punt the Cowboys were able to gain the led for the first time in the game with just :13 till halftime.
it was 24-21 to start the 3rd & OSU driving when Georgia D forced a fumble. Luckily the D came up with another key stop & forced a 18yd FG. This would be the only points in a defensive 3rd.
No points were mid way thru the 4th when the cowboys were able to make a 37 yd FG to go up 27-24 with 3:45 to go in the game. The dawgs connected on some big passes & finished it off with a 22 yd QB run to go up by 4. The pokes still had 2min to go.. Sander threw his 2nd pick of the game including 1 earlier in the 4th on a 2nd and Goal. But once again the Cowboy D held Georgia to a FG attempt that was missed! So down 4 ball on their on 35 OSU needs a TD to win. Sanders took a sack on 1st down & could never get things going. He ended up throwing a 3rd pick & that sealed it for the dawgs.
Definitely a tough loss to a good team & had we played better could have possibly got the W.
Silver lining this was a non conference matchup so Pokes still in first in the division with Conference Titles hopes still alive.

Week 10 recap
It was a shootout early in South Bend. Back and forth battle with the Irish scoring on some big pass plays. A pick 6 mid way thru the 2nd quarter blew the game wide open & Notre Dame never looked back.
The Cowboys did all they could to try to lose this one early.. thanks to a shutdown D in the second half helped OSU overcome 2 red zone interceptions. They trailed by 10 half way thru the 3rd. But some key stops by the D & punching in short rushing touchdowns after long drives was big in the Cowboys coming back & hanging on for a 35-30 win.
Other Big games
As expected the winner of ISU v KSU would become #1 and that was the case. #3 Kansas State pulled off the 2 OT win @ #2 Iowa State 45-38. KState Now the new #1 in all 3 polls. Also puts them in the drivers seat to make it to big 12 Conf Champ game with only 1 of 4 remaining teams on the schedule having above .500 record. and thats 5-4 Syracuse..
#7 Oklahoma & #4 Auburn both survived 1 score games to sub .500 teams to remain in the title hunt.
Biggest upset Arkansas 42-21 over then #8 Texas A&M. Aggies fall to #18
Week 11 preview
Irish will try not to get caught looking ahead as they face 2-6 UCF. Just 3 games remaining in the regular season they just need to win out to be in the SEC title game but will face 2 road test after this one.,
Cowboys have a huge non conf match up @ #21 Georgia. The dawgs lost 4 one possession games in a row to good competition could use a win vs a higher ranked one loss OSU team who took out Bama in Tuscaloosa earlier this year. Can the boys knock off another big dog on the road?
Other games around the nation
#7 Oklahoma travels to Waco to face #3 Baylor. OU needs a win to stay alive in the ACC race. With this being a cross division matchup it could be a preview to the conference title game.
Other ACC action #10 Pittsburgh will host #15 Michigan as both of these two teams look to stay in the division race but trailing above mentioned Baylor as well as #8 USC.

Heading into week 10 Notre Dame has taken over the top spot in the BCS rankings after beating #12 USC 45-17 & #17 Nebraska 45-31 in weeks 8-9.
This week the Irish take on 4-3 Virginia Tech.
While the Cowboys sit at #11 in the BCS poll. they host 3-4 Arizona
Other key games across the nation
#3 Kansas State travels to #2 Iowa State in a battle of unbeatens and key game in the Big 12 divisional race. The past 2 weeks Iowa State has won by just 3 points against PennSt & UCLA we will see if they can find a way to win again. Whoever the winner is they will likely overtake ND for the top spot in the rankings going into week 11.
A couple in state rivalries going down this weekend. No longer conferences foes thanks to conference realignment but still bragging rights on the line. (I thought very cool game keeps those rivalries as the non conf games when you shift conf around)
#6 North Carolina @ #24 NC State
#16 Michigan @ Michigan State
two of the Pac 12s top teams meet up with #12 Georgia Tech @ #18 Louisiana. A Ragin Cajun win would set up an interesting Week 11 game vs Division leader Nevada. The yellow jackets fell to the Wolf pack in week 8 21-42.
