Five Most Anticipated Games Post E3 Stuck
Posted on June 9, 2012 at 10:05 AM.

The heart of sports gaming season is coming fast, as it always begins with the release of NCAA Football in July. Every year, post E3, I try to give my five most anticipated games in our genre on the Saturday after the show.

One note: this list isn't in order of the games I think will be the best, but rather the games which I simply can't wait to play.

Here's my quick hitting list, be sure to share yours!

1. Madden NFL 13 - Real time physics? A self-touted redefinition of the sports game career mode? Madden is by far and away the most intriguing game of 2012. Something tells me it'll be a smashing hit or a colossal failure, with a slight lean towards the former because I'm an optimist.

2. FIFA Soccer 13 -This is the pure "can they really top last year's effort" pick. It's going to be the second year of the Impact Engine, so a lot of the kinks will be worked out. This year's won't be as innovative as last years, but I fully expect it to be 'better.'

3. NBA 2K13 -I think everyone in the room knows what's going on here. The 2K13 team is feeling a bit of pressure no doubt seeing their cohorts on the MLB Franchise pack up and go elsewhere while EA debuts a new (but shaky) NBA game. The pressure will be on to replicate the hype and success of two years ago (2K11) -- the game should still be great regardless, let's hope gimicky isn't the name of the game.

4. Forza Horizon - Obviously there are a few red flags here, anytime a franchise branches off from what made it what it is -- well it can go one of two ways. Either Forza will become a more regular title, with a lot of games using the name and engine in new and exciting ways -- or this initial attempt to branch out will be kind of meh. Either way, October 23 can't come soon enough.

5. The Wii-U - I know. This isn't a game per-se, but I'm really getting a "We want to release a console like the Dreamcast" vibe from Nintendo. And while the Dreamcast really did rock, and since I was one of 30 people to apparently buy it, the rest of you really missed out on a great console that was just too early. I get the feeling the Wii-U could meet a similar fate even despite what will likely be a pretty strong list of games.

1. Madden 13....seems like a must own with RTP...I can easily say I will purchase BEFORE day one ;-)
2. Wii U....Nintendo is on it's last legs after a blown conference, and I think this console may truly be special...looking forward to learning more about it....if Nintendo doesn't keep us waiting with Nintendoland trash
3. NBA Live 13......will it deliver or is it pure garbage....time will tell. Let's see what two years yields.
4. Beyond: Two Souls...looks amazing
5. NBA 2K13....redemption maybe????? Let's see....will be a solid game at worst

For me I'm going to have to go with:

1. Madden 13- has people's attention now and could be a GIANT leap forward

2. NBA 2K13- After what I saw as a disappointing 2K12 (change the controls for layups and dunks for some reason giving less control? and no art updates that were promised?) I think 2K13 might get us back on track.

3. Watch Dogs- Looks incredible

4. Assassin's Creed III- Huge fan in the Revolutionary War, anything that has to do with it, I always check it out and I love AC so 2 for 2.

5. NBA Live 13- Really interested to see what they bring to the table. Will they be actual competition or the death of the franchise?

1. NHL 13
2. Assasin's Creed III
3. Aliens: Colonial Marines
4. Pro Evolution Soccer 2013
5. Madden 13- maybe, looks promising, but i want to let the shock value wear off and think with a clear head before i get on board the hype train. I'm hoping its all it is supposed to be. I really want it to be, but i need to see actual gameplay videos, not just amazing looking trailers.
6. Crysis 3

Morningstar.... Lol. What à fool. I bet you bought nba elite and thought it was the best game ever.I bet you also think the last mvp game from ea ooownes the show.
Hey stupid, first of all, I've been buying 2K since the Dreamcast, a good game is a good game and a bad game is a bad game. 2K11 was the best bball game ever, 2K12 IMO, was the worst. Secondly, NBA Elite never came out, it was scrapped. God there's some idiots on OS.

My Top 5
1. Assassins Creed III - It's the American Revolution, one of the most important moments/periods in world history, and you get to kick a lot of ***.
2. NCAA 13 - I am a huge college football fan! Love doing my low prestige online dynasty. The game, appears to be smoother than last year and Dynasty got even deeper.
3. Star Wars 1313 - Hey Lucas Arts might be doing something more with a game than just putting their name on it.
4. Halo 4, the series really fizzed out for me, but this game looks very promising.
5. NBA 2k13, its going to be another great game. Anyone who put Live 13 on their list is a fool. The only thing more disappointing than Live 13 is Live 11.

Though I have games I am excited for I feel like this years E3 was kinda weak. A. E3 2012 was huge with all the big games that have come out in the last 12 months B. The biggest surprise for this E3 was the NCAA demo release.
