Cover 2 Part 2

In this entry, we will focus on the Cover 2 out of the 4-3. I don't care for how Madden does defensive line stunts, and recommend on each play you simply crash the line left or right, preferably to the side you expect a run, or if you happen to be blitzing either the Sam or Will, then to the side of the blitzing backer to help free up the DE on that side.



A simple cover 2 man. I typically don't use this play simply because I don't trust man coverage, and less so when I am not sending a blitz. I also don't typically blitz out of this, as that will leave someone open.



A Cover 2 Soft. A good play to help protect against mid range passes.



A good Blitz to mix in and keep the offense on it's toes. Flip it to send the Sam. Another option is to blitz the Mike and drop the Will into a yellow hook zone. If you do that, I suggest controlling the Will. The Sam and Mike blitzes are also not in the game, so you have to create them yourself [Sam Blitz by simply flipping the play]



Classic Cover 2 Hard. A good defense when you notice a lot of passes to the flats, or you are defending inside the red zone.



My favorite kind of blitz to send inside the red zone. Flip to send the Will.
