Iannetta is met by teammates following his 3 run blast.

Anaheim, CA The Baltimore Orioles are heading home. After 10 games in 10 days it was clear that the team was suffering from the "Get Away Day Blues" as they looked listless at the plate and fell to the Angels.

It was not a game to write home about for Baltimore. Playing their 10th game in 10 days the bats never got going. Baltimore was limited ... Read More

Ervin Santana was near unhittable for much of his 6.2 innings.

Anaheim, CA Nine games. That is the number the Baltimore Oriole winning streak had reached before Ervin Santana and the Los Angeles Angels put a stop to it taking game two of their 3 game set 3-2 in a thriller.

Santana was lights out for most of the game. His fastball, slider combination had the Orioles at his mercy the first two times ... Read More

Jim Johnson has been perfect this season, is leading the AL-Star Voting for closers as well

Anaheim, CA The Baltimore Orioles may be sad to know they will be back in Baltimore on Tuesday, which given how well they have played away from Baltimore could be terrible news. They once again won a game on the road their 8th in a row beating the Angels 4-2 despite a gutsy performance from Angles starter Scott Downs.

Dunn hits one of Chicago's 3 homeruns, but it wasn't enough

Chicago, IL The running joke in the press pool after the game is that Batlimore could go 81-0 on the road and probably still miss the playoffs in the AL East given their 2-4 record at home. The Orioles completed the sweep of the Chicago White Sox Thursday in a game that saw five balls leave the park.

It was not a good day to be a starting ... Read More

Chicago, IL The Baltimore Orioles may never want to go back to Camden Yards. The Birds downed the White Sox to take the second game of the 4 game series. Jake Arrieta picked up his second win of the season and Jim Johnson recorded save number 4.

Baltimore's offense was again jump started by Nolan Reimold who saw his average reach .216 as he becomes more comfortable in the everyday lead off role. JJ Hardy brought him home for his 5th RBI in his first game back from an aggravated ... Read More

Chicago, IL The Baltimore Orioles remained perfect on the road, but it wasn't easy, as the O's let a 6-0 lead slip away before Jim Johnson was able to shut the door and secure a 6-5 victory over the White Sox in front of 26,000 fans on the south side Monday. The win was Baltimore's 4th straight road win.

In an attempt to sync the blog with my actually progress I will present the entire Blue Jays series in one blog.

Game 1
Brandon Morrow and Jason Hammel put on a pitching clinic of sorts. Toronto took the lead in the 4th when Marcus Thames doubled and Jose Bautista hit a ground rule double to score him. Brandon Morrow mowed down Oriole hitters with his devastating fastball that Baltimore couldn't touch. Unfortunately Morrow tweaked his back and was pulled after just 6.2 innings ... Read More

Baltimore, MD Jake Arrieta was able to pick up his first win of the season out dueling one of the games best in CC Sabathia to help the Orioles defeat the Yankees and hand New York it's first loss of the season 3-2 tonight in the last of Baltimore's opening season homestand. Arrieta went 7 innings, allowing 7 hits, 2 runs while striking out 4. It took some late inning heroics to help Baltimore get the win. Robert Andino had the GW RBI, when he hit into a fielders choice, that brought in the winning ... Read More

Baltimore, MD Wei-Yin Chen was the real deal in his MLB debut. Chen limited the Yankee line-up to 1 run on 7 hits over 6 innings yet it wouldn;t be enough as the long ball continues to plague the O's and they lose again to the Yankees 2-1.

In his first start Chen managed to go three up, three down in the first, but the Yankees made him throw 20 pitches to do it. Chen would settle down allow only 1 hit in innings 2 and 3. With Chen pitching well, Baltimore would get to Freddy Garcia ... Read More

Baltimore, MD Brian Matusz did his best, pitched reasonably well. It wouldn't be enough though as the Orioles were mystified by Ian Nova's fastball, change-up combination and they fell to the Yankees 9-4 in front of a capacity crowd.

Matusz did his best in the early innings, working out of a jam in the first when he struck out Curtis Granderson and Mark Texeria following two one out singles. He was tagged by Raul Ibanez in 2nd for a solo home run, but managed to work out of the ... Read More

Baltimore, MD For the 28,000 fans who descended on Camden Yards hoping to see the first Orioles victory of 2012, it didn't start out the way they hoped, but baseball is a nine inning game.

Baltimore, MD It was another night of bull pen problems for the Baltimore Orioles as they fell for the second time to the visiting Minnesota Twins. 9-4. Baltimore battled from an early 4-1 deficit to make it 4-3 in the 6th inning and were feeling good. They managed to chase the tough lefty Francisco Liriano (1-0, 5.40) after only 5 innings getting 5 hits, and working 2 walks. Sadly, this Jones home run came with no one on base.]

Baltimore, MD Carl Pavano (1-0 1.35) and Jake Arrieta were the early story and the failing of the Orioles Bullpen were the story late. Arrieta went 6 innings in his frist opening day start for Baltimore surrendering only one run, on a Joe Mauer (2-4, HR, 2 RBI, R) solo homerun, to give Minnesota an early 1-0 lead.
