Blake average 22.5 points 8.5 rebounds 1.9 blocks while shooting 55% from the field and leading the Sooners to a 32-3 record making the Sweet 16. Blake will be entering the NBA draft and will be sorely missed by the Sooners for the 2009-2010 season.

With the game in hand 62-52 with 5 minutes remaining the top-ranked Sooners thought it would be nice to go cold (or get ripped off). The Florida St. Seminoles roared back to take a 70-68 lead with 30 seconds to play. Blake Griffin tied the game with a lay-up, but left 5.2 seconds on the clock, and that is all FSU guard Toney Douglas needed to drive the length of the court and pass off the Chris Singleton for a ridiculous three-point shot that was an inch from being blocked by Sooner forward Tony ... Oklahoma just almost went perfect in the Big 12 with 15-1 conference mark. The last four games of the conference season were as follows:

Kansas 70-64
@Texas Tech 81-61
@Missouri 68-80
Oklahoma St. 74-55

It's never a good thing traveling to Missouri to play the Tigers, and yet again it proved too much for the number 1 ranked Sooners who came out flat and never led the Tigers as the Colombia crowd was crazy.

Oklahoma reeled off four straight conference wins to start the "real" season as they defeated K-State 79-70 at Manhattan. Next they took care of fifth rated Texas at Norman 71-63, followed by Texas A&M in College Station 68-59, and Nebraska in Norman 78-53. OU is currently top-rated in the land after a loss by North Carolina to jump the Sooners up to number one. The next four game stretch is brutal with Baylor at home, Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Iowa St. in Ames, and a rematch with Texas A&M ... Read More

Recap

The third ranked Sooners held off a scappy VCU team that just wouldn't go away. Eric Maynor kept getting his teammates involved, but Tony Crocker's shooting was too much for the Rams to overcome. The Sooners were down by 6 at the half, but rallied on Crocker's 33 points to win 87-83. Blake Griffin had 28 quiet points and 9 rebounds while O'mar Leary added 12 from the bench. The Sooners will travel to Houston to play the Rice Owls next.
