The down years are adding up on the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes of Conference USA, and having a brutal non-conference schedule is not helping matters as their intrastate rival Oklahoma Sooners handed them their fifth loss of the year on Sunday 74-62. It was a breakout game for true freshman McDonald's all-american Willie Warren as he had 17 points on 6 of 10 shooting, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Oklahoma defended their home court against the twenty-third ranked Trojans of USC with an overtime victory. OU led most of the way until a late flurry by the Trojans put them up 65-63 with 5 seconds to go. Senior guard Austin Johnson got fouled on a drive to the bucket with no time remaining and had to make two free throws to send it into overtime, and that is exactly what he did. The Sooners outscored USC 17-12 in OT to finish off with a 82-77 victory to move them to 4-1 on

Gardner-Webb came into Norman with hopes held high of an upset, but couldn't contain Sooner center Blake Griffin who went for 30 points, 10 boards, and had 2 blocks en route to an 85-70 victory. Gardner-Webb shooting guard Aaron Linn led the team with 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting. The Sooners move to 3-1 on the year and welcome the USC Trojans to Norman for the Pac 10/ Big 12 challenge.

Stephen Curry showed why he is without a doubt, the best shooter in college basketball today. Curry had 41 points and hit four 3-pointers in the final three minutes of the game to defeat the fifth-ranked Sooners 82-77. Blake Griffin's team high 26 couldn't match the unstoppable Curry and his quick release. The Sooner defense continually doubled Curry to force him to pass, which he did, but his off-the-ball movement was too just too much for Austin Johnson. Oklahoma led the entire game

The Sooners came out in stride tonight to put down the Delta Devils 91-58. Blake Griffin had a game high 16 points and freshman sensation Willie Warren added 13. The Sooners never trailed and lead by as many as 40. The first round of the NIT tipoff ended with OU advancing to the 2nd round in this sixteen team tournament.

The American Eagles pushed the sixth-rated Oklahoma Sooners to the limit for most of the game as the season kicked off for both squads. Blake Griffin scored 15 of his 23 points in the second half as OU rallied from a 41-40 halftime deficit to defeat American 89-64 and move to 1-0 on the year. Things were tight most of the way as there were 26 lead changes, but Cade Davis hit four second half three pointers to help OU pull away and take a stronghold on the game.
