NBA 2K11 ASSOCIATION WISHLIST.
With the announcement that 2K are about to give out some details on the core game modes of NBA 2K11 I thought I would take the opportunity to make a list of what I'm hoping to see in the meat & gravy mode. Association.

Although 2K's big announcement this year is the inclusion of MJ, which I'm pleased to say seems much more than just a gimmick, for myself & many more gamers it will be what Association Mode brings to the table that will determine the long term appeal of 2K11.

Here's my list of hopeful changes for this year:-

1.) NBA D League - I want the same level of presentation in D League games as those in the top flight games. Notably in regards to the inclusion of commentary & cut scenes.

2.) Menu Presentation Upgrade - I am a great fan of the menu navigation system employed by 2K across their sports titles. However while the method is great the visuals are very bland.

3.) Weekly News Show - This could work really well with the NBA Today feature. Although highlights from other games is probably too big a ask, a Weekly Show reporting top games from the week, form players, injury news & the like would bring alot to the broadcast style approach NBA 2K11 aims for.

4.) Hot/Cold Player Tracking - Have a list of form players showing notable stats across the league.

5.) Game Summaries - When looking at other results from around the league rather than showing a full page of individual stats show just the notable statistics from the game.

6.) Score Updates - During breaks in the game you are playing have the commentators update you of any current games in progress.

7.) Revise Player Morale - Too many times I have players who have low morale because of lack of minutes per game only to have the players become excessively fatigued when floor time is increased.

8.) Full All Star Weekend Package

Their are probably other things that I have forgotten to mention but this will do for now. Let me know your thoughts.

Just thought I'd let you guys know the Demo for WRC 3 is up on the Xbox Live (at least in the UK). Having not been that impressed by the earlier Gameplay videos, I have to say the Demo has taken me by surprise. The presentation, Graphics & feel of the game have taken a big step forward from last years effort. The environments particularly look a lot better. Not in the league of Dirt of course but for fans of the sport this is a must buy & even if you're not a rally fan I honestly recommend you take ... Read More

Just wondering if anyone has had any problems downloading DLC for PGA 13. I've just attempted to download Atlanta Athletic Club & although I've been deducted the coins from my account when I try to download the course I just get a message stating 'Purchase Canceled'. Also when attempting to purchase more coins I recieve a message 'No content is available for purchase at this time'. Never had any problems in the past.

This issue has been raised by a number of people on the EA Sports ... Read More

So NBA Live 13 is on the horizon & the first noises are coming out of EA's camp. And so the hype machine begins. Only this time EA may actually deliver on their boasts. Why? How can they not? Never before have EA actually had to deliver to quite such an extent. This time there is no exclusive license or well established market base with which to rest on. After the comical debacle that was NBA Elite anything but a stellar game will be seen as a fail. The problem, EA are going up against argubly the ... Read More

When EA announced that they were releasing an expansion for FIFA 12 to incorporate this years UEFA Euro Championship competition in the game my immediate response was 'what an excellent idea'. In previous years we have had to shell out for a full price World Cup or Champions League title so the idea of paying alot less for the inclusion of the competition within the original game seemed a great move.

However the outcome has almost universally been received as a disappointment. Why? ... Read More

With the release of this years offering of baseball games nearly upon us I wonder if, when all is said & done, the overall opinions of the 2 games will vary much from what we have had in the last couple of years.
From what I've seen so far it seems to be more of the same.

Both MLB 2K & The Show are very playable games & both offer decent Franchise Modes but when I look at the gameplay videos for this years games I feel exactly how I did last year. The Show looks like Baseball, ... Read More

Now I'm not a big fan of wishlists for 'next years game' just a week on the back of the release of 'this years game'. I would however like to get a blog going on some ideas for FIFA 12 that could be corrected via a patch.

For the record FIFA 12 is yet another impressive release in what as become a consistently improving game in the last few years. Equally consistent are some of the games more annoying quirks.

Below are a list of a few things that annoy me & that I believe, ... Read More

I would like to extend my sympathy to all those directly & indirectly affected by the tragedies of 9/11. I know this is a gaming website but there are some events in this life that extend to all reaches & deserve recognition & mention no matter what.

I am from the UK & I'm sure I speak for all our good citizens when I say how sad this day is. Yet I am in awe at just how your proud nation has risen above the awful travesty. Yes this is a day to mourn, yet for the USA & for all fellow ... Read More

Black Bean have confirmed that a new version of their WRC series is scheduled for release in October. Although details are a little thin on the ground it seems that there will be more cars, more rallies, more stages & an improved weather system. Hopefully each stage within each rally environment will be more unique than last year when each stage was just a slight variation of one basic route.

With Dirt 3 moving towards a more traditional rally product this year I will be interested ... Read More

NCAA 12 has been released with almost universally positive critical acclaim. However all the reviews seem to be based on the 360 version. In the short time I've had with the game there are some noticeable issues that I wonder whether they are specific with the PS3 as they take away somewhat from the experience.

There are some nice additions to NCAA 12 but I'm not feeling blown away by the game as many appear to be.

Once again I'm here throwing out a little review of a one of those games that may have slipped under the radar of many gamers.

Black Bean return once again this year for their latest SBK offering looking to be the go to racing game for fans of 2 wheeled motorsports.

SBK 2011, likes it's predecessors, is not a game that'e going to appeal to many people who don't at least have a passing interest in the sport. After all, the 360 & the PS3 are not exactly short on racing ... Read More

The World Championship Snooker franchise has been a regular release for a number of years now. What hasn't been so consistent is the publisher. Codemasters & Sega have all put their name to the game whilst the 2009 version was released by the now defunct developers Blade Interactive.

This time around it's the turn of Dark Energy Sports & I must say that it is the best console snooker game to date. That's not to say it is great game, but for anyone interested in the sport of snooker, ... Read More

Having played both MLB demos I feel more & more that this year MLB 2K11 will be getting the bulk of my playing time when it comes to videogame baseball.

I've played both demos on the PS3 & although The Show looks alot better & has, what I feel to be, a superior analog pitching system, I find myself enjoying 2K11 so much more. Bearing in mind the demo of MLB 2K11 is without the commentary that takes the game to a whole new level & lacks the options of The Show's demo this is quite ... Read More

The Fight Night series has always been about giving you the opportunity to fight with or against some of the greatest fighters ever. With the latest edition looking visually stunning, featuring a new Champion Mode, an updated & expanded roster of boxers, it seems the potential of this game being great is high.

However the mantra of the Fight Night series appears to be, for each good thing we do there will be something we won't bother to do.

The Champion Mode is where ... Read More

The following theory is one born out of sheer pessimism for a Franchise that so often has fallen short of expectations. I don't know if it is an idea I truly believe or one that is even logical but I thought I would throw it out there anyway.

The threat of a lockout in the NFL, along with the possibility of the cancellation of the whole season is one concerning all Football fans. It also appears to be one that is giving EA a few headaches regarding sales of the forthcoming Madden ... Read More
