Season 1:Trade Deadline Transactions
----------------------------------------------
The Detroit Red Wings came into the Deadline looking to bolster there line-up with Defense and Goal Scoring depth, and they made moves for both during the day.
TRANSACTION #1 (TRADE)
To Detroit: D SAMI SALO (3.5)
To Tampa Bay: G MARCO COUSINEAU (3)
With the TB Lightning struggling to find a future Goaltender, they reached out to Detroit looking to acquire prospect G Marco Cousineau. The 23 year old, 6' 1'' 201 lb. goaltender is a former 3rd round pick on the Anaheim ducks in 2008. Detroit signed Cousineau to a 1 year $750,000 contract on July 22,2012. He played 25 games for the Grand Rapid Griffins and had a record of 11-11 with a GAA 2.41. His SV% .903 and he had 1 shutout and 2 PIMS.
The Red Wings acquired D Sami Salo, who has 1 year left on a $3.7m contract. Salo has 21 points in 60 GP along with a -2 rating with the Lightning. He is expected to be a offensive contributor on the Powerplay and help solidify the back end.
Brandon Smith (9 points-63 Games) was sent back to the Griffins
TRANSACTION #2 (TRADE)
To Detroit: 2013 2nd Round Pick
To Buffalo: RW TODD BERTUZZI(3)
Todd Bertuzzi has struggled mightily this year with only 14 points(7-7-14) in 56 games for Detroit. Buffalo gave up a 2nd rounder in a very deep draft and ccould be burned in this deal.
TRANSACTION #3 (TRADE)
To Detroit: C MIKHAIL GRABOVSKI
To: Toronto: D BRENT LASHOFF (3), 2014 3rd Round Pick
After C Mikhail Grabovski struggled to produce early in the season and was demoted to the 3rd line, he eventually ended up being a healthy scratch for a 8-game stretch. He signed a 5 year $5m contract extension last off-season and has only put up 19 points (10-9-19) in 51 Games for Toronto. Looking for a offensive replacement for Todd Bertuzzi, the Red Wings gave up future assets for a struggling player that they think can turn it around while playing on the 1st line of P. Datsyuk and H. Zetterberg. If he can't produce the Red Wings will lose out on this deal.

Season 1: December
--------------------------------------
Christmas Season Woes
After a superb November the Red Wings faltered some over the course of December. In the first six games, the wings had a 4-1-1 and a 6 point lead on the Western conference. However, after they ended the month on a 4 game losing streak, in which they were outscored by a 3:1 ratio.(3 for, 9 against) they have lose that lead and are currently tied with Anaheim for the #1 spot with 50 points. Valtteri Filppula is struggling to produce points, even though he is playing with Patrick Elias and Johan Franzen who both have 20+ points. In 36 games this season he has 7G and 8A for 15P and is shooting at 6.3%.
The rumors are that the Red Wings are looking to ship him out of town at the trade deadline. Filppula had 66 points in 81 games in the 2011/12 NHL season.

Game of the Month
Howard sets career high against the Penguins
December 27, 2012
My Penguins came into Pittsburgh, the town that has the NHL Leading scorer in Sidney Crosby (22-28-50). The pens, despite Crosby's point totals, the penguins are struggling to hold on to their 6th spot in the East with 3 teams just 2 points behind them. In desperation mode, the penguins out shot the Red Wings by an astonishing rate, recording 59 shots to Detroit's 21. Despite the amazingly lop-sided shot totals, the Red Wings, led by G Jim Howard's career high 56 saves were able to secure a point as they entered overtime tied at 2. The Penguins would eventually, however, get the win on a breakaway goal by Tyler Kennedy at the 4:12 mark of OT.

Season 1: Preseason and October
---------------------------------------------------------------
The Season Story
After a tough summer with heartbreaks by both a first round loss to the Nashville Predators in 5 games and then the hanging up the skates of Franchise defenseman and Redwing captain Nicklas Lidstrom.
After making some minor moves in the off-season and bringing in overseas RW Damian Brunner, the Red Wings want to make a strong push with it's ageing roster, spear-headed by the trio of Nicklas Kronwall, New Captain Henrik Zetterberg, and Pavel Datsyuk.
---------------------------------------------------------------
I traded of all prospects with less than 3 green stars and in return found myself with 2 first round picks, 2 seconds, 2 thirds, and one of each 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders for this year and a 3rd rounder next year. Also acquired LW Brandon Saad from Chicago(3.5 gold stars)
At that point I was going to roll into the season, until the NJ Devils sent me a trade for LW Patrick Elias. At 36 years old and 1 year left on a $6 million contract. I thought it would be a nice addition to the offense, I accepted the deal and sent to the Devils: RW Brooks Macek/LW Marek Tvrdon and a 3rd round pick. Along with Elias I received a 3rd for Next year. With just over $10 Million in cap space
At the end of the first month of the season, my Red Wings are 7-2 with 14 points, tied for first in the West and leading my division. (2nd in league)
Henrik Zetterburg is currently leading the team with 10 points (3 g, 7 a) in

After solidifying my starting line-ups with the Elias trade, I set my sights for the regular season with these lines.

Davidakiis' Detroit Red Wings
Be a GM
Season 1: Introduction and Plans
------------------------------------------------------------------------
INTRO
Welcome to my Detroit Red Wings franchise in NHL 13! I'd like to start of by thanking anyone who reads this and asking them to post comments, I'd appreciate feedback on new things to post and just the overall appeal to the audiance.
I chose the Red Wings because they are a very competitive team, but they have a rebuild in the imminent future.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
PLANS FOR THE TEAM
I think the only thing you can do with the Red Wings is try to win now! They have stars that are in their mid 30's and will retire soon so I'd like to get a cup with the old school players before the rebuild.
Once the older players are at the retirement point (35+) I'd like to either trade them or let them end their careers in Detroit and start a 1-4 season rebuild. Preferably a "competitive rebuild". A rebuild that could give some teams in the division trouble while also acquiring some top notch talent through the draft to build off of.

PLANS FOR POSTS
Sometimes, like the weekends, I could maybe get 1 or 2 out every day.

PLANS FOR POSTS
My plans for posting is monthly updates(in-game months) every 2-3 days.As well as All-Star Weekend, Trade Deadline, NHL Draft, and Free Agency posts.
For the playoffs I'd like to do it either one game or one series at a time. Sometimes, like the weekends, I could maybe get 1 or 2 out every day.

Injuries - OFF
Waivers - OFF
I have seen to many 85+ rated players go through waivers and get claimed to other teams that should never happen. (If you want proof I have pictures of Sidney Crosby getting claimed by the Flames)
Trades
I will only make trades that the computer either 1) offers to me or 2) that meets their trading block.
UNLESS it is the trade deadline or NHL Draft, then I can do whatever I want
Length - 25 YEARS
I might end it short if it seems people are not interested anymore.
