Mid way through January the Cleveland Cavaliers are showing some promise after the Antawn Jamison trade.They are 4-4 half way through the month.Besides the 64-87 beatdown that they received against the Chicago Bulls the Cavs had 2 impressive wins over the Los Angles Lakers (112-82) and the Denver Nuggets (107-98)

The NBA offices have just announced a trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Houston Rockets.The word around the league is that the Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to get younger and are eying Duke's freshman PG Kyrie Irving and Baylors's PF Perry Jones in the draft.

Cavs Snap 13 Game Losing Streak

The Cavaliers walked into Atlanta looking to snap their current 13 game losing streak against.This was Mo Williams first game back with the team after suffering a injury that kept him out for almost a month, and Mo Williams didn't disappoint as he energized the team scoring 8 of the first 13 points and helped give the Cavaliers a early 15 point lead.

The 2nd qtr was a different story however as Jamal Crawford caught fire putting up 17 in the qtr and bringing Cleveland's lead down to 1.

However the 2nd half was all Tracy McGrady and the Cavs. Tracy McGrady who would finish with a season high 42 points would score 30 in the 2nd half and helped the Cavs improve their record to 8-21 while snapping their 13 game skid.

Mo Williams Back from Injury but Cavs still Struggle

Mo Williams is back from his lower back strain that he 3 weeks ago against the Orlando Magic. The Cleveland Cavaliers are 0-13 since the injury and currently stand 7-21 heading into December 22's game vs the Atlanta Hawks (22-8).Hopefully Mo can help stop this 13 game losing streak the Cavs are currently enduring.

Heat Dominate In LeBron's Return to Cleveland

The Miami Heat (17-3) brought in a 14 game winning streak into this highly anticipated game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (7-11).It was LeBron James first game back in Cleveland after leaving for the Miami Heat as he and the Heat dominated from the tip.

The Heat never trailed and took a 25 point lead in the 4th. The Cavs had no answer for the swarming Heat defence going 0-12 from 3.

Cavs Down Magic 97-92

The Cleveland Cavaliers (7-8)extend their winning streak to 3 games as they beat the Orlando Magic (7-9)in Orlando.The Cavs were lead by Tracy McGrady's season high 30 points and Antawn Jamison's 23. Orlando took an 10 point lead early in 2nd qtr behind a 16-4 run. But then let it slip away just a couple minutes later after Cleveland rallied.

The 3rd qtr saw the Magic take a early 7 point lead, but thats when Tracy McGrady cought fire. He erupted for 18 points in the final 4 minutes of the 3rd and gave the Cavs the momentum heading into the 4th.

The 4th qtr was a back and forth affair with each team answering each other backets. Down by 1 with 2:30 left Mo Williams hit a clutch jumper that he would get injured from. The Magic would not have a lead after that as Antawn Jamison closed the game out with a turn-a-round hook with 32 seconds remaining.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are awaiting a highly anticipated game against the Miami Heat and LeBron James returning back to Cleveland for the first time since the "Decision"

Cavs Lose Season Opener

The Cleveland Cavaliers (0-1) drop their season opener to the defending eastern conference champ Boston Celtics (2-0) by the score of 89-88. It was a battle to the end as the Cavs battled back from an 15 point deficit in the 3rd. The Celtics lead for most of the way with their only mishap being a injury to Kendrick Perkins in the 1st qtr.

The Cavs were lead by Mo Williams and Antawn Jamison who finished with 22 & 20 points. Tracy Mcgrady chipped in a additional 17 points despite being injured twice in the game.

The Cavaliers have just completed a trade that would send PF J.J.Hickson to the Detroit Pistons in return for SG Tracy Mcgrady. The Cavs were looking for a player that can help fill the need for a true scorer. The question is can a aging Tracy Mcgrady be that player? If he stays healthy!

The Cleveland Cavs are looking to avoid a major let down after losing LeBron James to the Miami Heat during the "Decision" over the summer.

The start of the rebuilding process began with the hire of head coach Byron Scott, as well as prospect Scouts Stanley Steele (C) and Jamie Sharpe (B)
