Game Notes
This is the first game of the season that the Raptors get to showcase their recent offseason acquisitions in Rudy Gay and Kyle Lowry. Look for them to play hard the entire game. Andrea Bargnani is not in the starting lineup for opening night as Dwayne Casey decided that Amir Johnson was a better choice against the Indiana Pacers.

Well, after the discontinuation of my previous Toronto Raptors association that got something like 7K+ views, I was going to start an association with a team known as the Denver Nuggets. After playing a few games with the Nuggets, I decided that there was no way that I was going to be able to complete an association without playing with my favorite basketball team, the Toronto Raptors.

I know that many people have read the GM stories around here such as Trekfan's Ronnie Gold story. I'm not exactly going to be making this a GM story but there will be character interaction between people such as the General Manager and the starting point guard. Also, I will not be introducing any new character (aka firing the current GM and replacing him with a fictional character). All interactions/storylines will be involving the real life people. This should be crazy and fun ride and I hope you'll enjoy it!

Ilya Bryzgalov Takes A Break As The Leafs Celebrate Their Goal

Leafs Hold Off Flyers Comeback, Win Third Straight

TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs just keep finding ways to win. The Leafs won their third straight game last night, topping the Philadelphia Flyers by a score of 2-1. Carl Gunnarsson and Joffrey Lupul scored for the Leafs and Scott Hartnell replied for the Flyers in a low scoring affair at the Air Canada Center.

The game got off to a great start for the Maple Leafs as Carl Gunnarsson was able to give the Leafs a one goal lead by netting his fourth goal of the season less than four minutes into the game. The Flyers were unable to clear the zone and when former Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn attempted to make a cross-ice pass, Gunnarsson picked off the pass and fired home a slapshot for the early lead.

Things seemed to calm down a bit for the rest of the period before Joffrey Lupul scored his sixth goal of the season with less than a minute left in the first period. The goal that put the Leafs up by two came on the powerplay. Nazem Kadri faked a slap shot and sent the puck to defenseman Cody Franson, who quickly gave a perfect one-time pass to Lupul, who fired in the puck from the side of the net.

Things would stay the same until halfway through the third period. Scott Hartnell scored for the Flyers, who were trying to mount a comeback. Leafs goaltender James Reimer stood on his head for the last six minutes of the period as eight of the total 24 shots game found their way to the net.

“They really turned up the heat and started putting everything on net” said Leafs coach Randy Carlyle, “James [Reimer] did a great job for us. If one of those pucks go in, you blame Reimsy [Reimer] but if we win, all you guys do is look at the goal scorers. Its about [explicit]ing time you game James some attention.”

Leafs Forward Frattin Diagnosed With Wrist Injury

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matt Frattin has been diagnosed with a right wrist sprain after taking a late hit from Anaheim Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin in last night's game. Frattin was hit hard into the boards and was left rolling in pain on the ice clutching his right arm. The National Hockey League has scheduled a meeting with the former Maple Leafs defenseman and it is likely that he will be suspended. Forward Leo Komarov has been called up from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League and will likely take Frattin's spot in the lineup.
