Special abilities in Madden

As the title states would guys like to see some sort of abilities to differentiate between regular players & stars/HOf players.
As Madden is today when you play it, Shady mcCoy is just a regular shemgular RB with high ratings. He jukes nor runs with the ball like a loaf of bread as he does in real life. We need something to make this game come to life.

Didn't Madden have something similar back in the day, like 09 or 10? I think they were called weapons.

I think the QB position is getting there, finally differences between Rodgers and Hundley.

I do agree with the RB and WR positions. Good pass rushers usually dominate.

And I never try to pass on Sherman's side.

To me, it's a mixed bag and I think if they differentiated better with the RB and WR positions, then I think we are headed in the right direction.

Madden 08 did have something similar & it made players like Moss & Shawn Alexander & Brett Favre be unique. That scrapped it instead of expanding it.

Maybe I should have clicked the link lol.

I would love for the APF 2k8 system to come back. It made the guesswork of finding good players with the ratings hidden. You could even find generic players who were slightly better than others.

I think they should hide the ratings and give out the "badges" and then you play based off that.

It worked extremely well in APF 2k8.

I would HATE this kind of thing.

"Laser arm?" No thanks.


The types of special abilities I would be after are things that can't be or aren't included in ratings. Thinks like release speed. In the NFL, the QB's release actually matters, but there is nothing like that in all the ratings.

Or how about throwing fundamentals? The closest Madden comes to that is the "tight spiral" characteristic.


But the rest of this "Back of the Box" stuff? No thank you.
