I was planning to do Watford but it didn’t seem like a challenge.
Watford have an OP team for the Championship, but it should be a challenge once you get back to the prem.

Their team is also fairly old and doesn't have much young talent coming up. I'm treating their relegation as an opportunity to rebuild the foundations for a more sustainable return to the premiership.

Just hit the January transfer window and sold Deulofeu for £28m which I reinvested in some youngsters. Pick up ST Sam Lammers from Atalanta, RWB Colin Dagba, and CB Axel Tuanzebe from Man U.

Just started a Fulham Career Mode. Trying to keep transfers realistic, don't plan to make any until January. I really just wish the midfielders not marking issue wasn't there because I do find career mode itself more enjoyable than usual.

That’s true, once you get in the PL it should be fun. I like your rebuild idea. Question, what’s your plans for Sarr? I feel like to keep it realistic should sell him. I believe the Real life team is trying to sell him.

I kept Sarr as the centrepiece of the rebuild. He's only 22 (I think) so I think it's reasonable to think that Watford would want to good onto him - not sure what the team are planning for him in real life. I'm playing a 5-4-1 diamond formation, so retrained him as a CAM to play off my target man striker, which is working nicely so far.

I sold Deulofeu instead of Sarr. He's older and has more of an established pedigree. He's far too good for the Championship and I could see him making a fuss about playing at that level so I think it's more realistic to move him than Sarr. I got £28m for him I think

I finished my first season this weekend. The title race went down to the final day. I won my last game but Brentford did too and they won the league by 2 points. I took 4 points from my first 4 games in the Premiership getting a point from Chelsea in a crazy 4-4 draw in the season opener. Lost two West Ham and Crystal Palace and beat Bournemouth 3-0.

I brought in a new goalkeeper, Ionut Radu and bolstered the back line with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Faitout Maouassa. The team is looking pretty solid and should hopefully be enough to meet the board's expectations of a mid-table finish.

I'm loving career mode right now. I know a lot of people are struggling to enjoy the game, but I'm having more fun than I have in years. I liked 20 and 21 is similar but with some really cool improvements and additions. The best thing is that I'm playing on Ultimate difficulty, and none of my losses have felt cheesy or undeserved. Results feel far more organic and less scripted than I can ever remember.

Has anyone noticed that the "Disable" summer transfer window isn't working.. I thought I was going crazy but I noticed there are still transfers when you check in the Transfer Hub and even some "big ones" ie. Alaba to Real Madrid etc..

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

Just finished my first season, started in 2. Bundesliga with Nurnberg.
Finished 2nd in the league and got promoted, then in the summer transfer window I had a big surprise in free agents: A LOT of players without contract, some good players like Demarai Gray, Draxler and even Reyna from Dortmund. I loved to see that clubs actually release players but Dortmund would never release Reyna lol

Coming back from my career, I signed Holtby and Aboubakar from free agents, and Claudio Bravo, Murillo, Bruno Xadas and Knoche from relegated side Union Berlin. I loving the new system of training and development, just looks OP in my opinion. Hack are already ovr 80, started 74. In two seasons I think he can reach 90, that's a lot of growth lol.

Nurnberg: 4-2-3-1
GK: Bravo (75)
RB: Murllo (75)
CB: Knoche (77)
CB: Muhl (74)
LB: Handwerker (74)
CDM: Behrens (73)
CM: Geis (75)
RM: Bruno Xadas (75)
LM: Hack (80)
CF: Dovedan (71)
ST: Aboubakar (74)

That's my team, window still open but I don't think I'll sign a player, unless I loose someone.

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

can someone explain what the "sign x young players" objective entails in career mode?

This is one of my critical objectives and it appears to be bugged. It still says 0/2 even though I've signed one player from my academy and one 17 year via transfer. Seems like at least one of those players should count towards the objective but neither one seems to.

Re: How is Your Career Going Fifa 21

First season in the Premier League with Watford was very successful. The board asked me to finish mid-table and I finished 8th. Just started my third season, and the board have asked me to finish in a Europa League position, which is going to be much tougher. I find myself in 10th position after 8 games, having a pretty rough start schedule-wise.

Ismaila Sarr has been an absolute monster so far, and I find myself in a difficult position with his future. I hadn't planned on selling him, but he has quickly risen to a 90 overall and he's still only 24 years old. He's currently worth a ridiculous £236 million, which would literally buy me a while new team and could set me up to be in and around the European places for years if I were to sell him. I hadn't planned on selling him, but I'm not sure if it makes more sense to now. Would I even get half of that valuation?

Edit: He just went up to a 91 overall and £262 million. Obscene.
